    Not sure if you realized or not but the coolant tank that pumps up to the top, well it needs to be flat not on one side. If you put it up on the side you need to reposition the coolant pickup from the bottom to the side so that it can get at as much of the coolant than it would turned on it's side.

      Hey Joe thanks for looking out for us :) yes we plan to move the pump connectio to the bottom value and also relocate the overflow stem :)

    Put 3/4" plywood counter tops in wit a couple coats of Varathane for the winter, then next year once wood has cured, put the final counter tops in. Don't let waiting for the PERFECT idea to hold you up.

    If you speed dry it, you should use straps around the bundle to help keep it from warping as much.

    I wonder if collaborating with a mill/kiln channel like Out of the Woods might be a solution to your countertop problem. It would be a huge hike from OH to TN, but maybe there's another channel that's closer. Just a thought.

    Aww Mela, it’s so good to see you up and about! 💕👏👏 I’m also so sorry to see the beautiful slabs of wood be cut down but even if they aren’t going to be used on the counter tops they are still going to be used and not wasted. You are doing such a brilliant job and I’m really blown away with every update at the skills you’ve demonstrated! When you opened up that panel with the compressor all I could think was OMG what a mess! But you saw the inner workings of this amazing machine… like surgeons! Very impressive Don and Dad! 🙌🙌🍀!! ✨💫

    Don...A old country saying is "you are handier than a pocket knive". Mela you are so lucky to have a guy who can do anything. Ex. Plumbing. Electrical. Automotive, woodwork, heating and air conditioning. Don reminds me of my husband. He was like that. I miss him.
    Mela it takes awhile to come back from a operation like the one you just had. So please don't get frustrated. Give yourself time to heal. Don't lift anything heavy until you heal. I have had lots of Friends who has had this surgery. And the doctor told them to rest and let things heal.

    That wood was a major problem. I was so sorry to hear about it, I hope that when the moisture has been removed it doesn't warp too much and it is still useable, I am very pleased that Mela is recovering well.

    • @Rehabit8
      @Rehabit8  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Barry. So far it is drying well but the warping does mean there is less available wood to use. So we are thinking we may have to mill more. But we'll make it happen eventually!

      @@Rehabit8 That particular wood has a lovely grain and I know it will enhance your bus when it is polished up. If you are going to varnish it can I suggest that for the first coat of varnish do a 50/50 mix with white spirit first, this allows the varnish to soak into the wood instead of just sitting on the top and also it stops the varnish from cracking or flaking later on,

    Make your own air kiln with a plastic bag like roll out tube or biuld an air box than on both use a rented industrial blower fan and a rented indutrial heater like the one they used after floods. This will get the wood dry within 3 days to a week . 👈🤓👍 Depending on the outside temps and humidity. The drier the hotter the better.

  • @seekersofrhythm

    Why don't you cut the boards up an make a butcher block top. By using the wood in small squares or strips you can solve the moisture issue as you go. This would look great especially if you epoxy the wood when complete. It's worth investigating. I think it's an option that's saves time. Stay safe J.

Why dont you put a filler piece on the cabinet next to the fridge, that way the sink can come forward like it should to the edge of the curve. Those little corners will be had to clean and also you give your drawer more clearance

    Hi Guys
    Firstly Mal may I ask where you from as I can hear a slight accent when I hear certain words from you. So Mal where are you from please??
    You can tell that you and Don aren't from the same place straight away but like I said certain words Mal give you a slight accent and I have a feeling that there's countries you could be from tho I could be mistaken but never the less I would love to know please.
    Mal also as a female I know that we don't give our bodies time and chance to heal correctly as there's always something we gotta do 🤦. I can't imagime what your going through as I haven't had done what you have had, I have had a few friends go through so I can only assume you are/have felt like they did and I had to push them to relax and give their bodies time to recover and none of us are doing a bus build!!!!😮😮
    Don you are truly amazing your not only carry on your shoulders the thought of 'how's Mal' your also trying to do everything including the projects outstanding on what is in my opinion gonna be an amazing, beautiful home but also what your doing both inside and out on the bus build a fantastic job!!!! You Don should be so PROUD of yourself, I do truly believe that when completed that yours and Mals home is gonna be an outstanding build, beautiful, unquie, amazing, fantastic I really can't put into words how I think this build is gonna not only look but also be 🤔. Don give yourself some credit as it's well overdue 🙏👏👏👍👏👏👍😱👌👌😍😍. Please stop being so hard on yourself Don, we know you guys wanna be done on the road before winter but what will be will be
    So yeah Mal please try and take it easy if you do that hopefully you will be one less thing on Don's mind tho somehow I think no I know he's still gonna worry about you that guy of yours who I wanna call SUPERDON,he isn't gonna stop worrying about you til your 100% well but then he will get back to the way he has been (I picked this up from the 1st video I watched of you guys) ie he always thinks and is concerned about you!!!!
    VIEWER'S PLEASE COMMENT IF YOU ALSO THINK I AM RIGHT ABOUT SUPERDON AND THE WAY HE THINKS ABOUT HIS MAL????
    You guys are great together your a prefect match and you guys do truly belong together 👩‍❤️‍💋‍👨❤️💞🤓💕❣️ the love you have for each other it shows on screen you know us viewer's (I definitely can), can feel and see the love between you guys 👩‍❤️‍💋‍👨👩‍❤️‍💋‍👨

    If you’re putting a mini split toward the back isn’t it going to just suck in bus exhaust? I hope I’m wrong or that you’ve got a solution for that. Seems like it would be a carbon monoxide nightmare.

    • @Rehabit8
      @Rehabit8  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The back mini-split will not be used during driving. Only when we are stationary.

    • @douglasgallardojr4759
      @douglasgallardojr4759 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The portion of the mini split that's in the engine bay doesn't handle the interior air. It's just the compressor and condenser.

  • @harlanmclain1719
    @harlanmclain1719 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Don't know who told you engine likes to be hot but that's not true at all but good luck & hope that unite can get enough air mite want to find out be 4 running it to much cuz mite not do that much good but hard telling not knowing ....

    • @douglasgallardojr4759
      @douglasgallardojr4759 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Engines run more efficiently when hot. That's why your car has a "normal operating temperature" indicator on your dashboard (temp gauge). Too cold and the oil doesn't lubricate as well as it should.

ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS BLOCK the bus with solid wood blocks under the frame! Busses can and do Kill people! Just a word of caution from one bus person to another. Keep up the good work, My new one is coming along at turtle speed but that's okay.
