    Tasty and legit licks. Your tone nails Dann’s sound. Plus, the Tyler guitar is a nice bonus!

      Wasn't at the London show so don't know what happened there. But was at some other London live gigs, for other bands.Very hit and miss recordings. They were broadcast live, one chance, very little sound checks and fair to say the broadcasting kit was paper cup and string compared to todays standard.Hope this helps,

    Enjoyed watching this - your way of walking through in slower speed is really helpful and useful - inspiring me to get trying these licks . I'm put off too often but how mindblowing it is full speed but also thinking some of these licks slowed down or re ordered would be great practice anyway. Thanks again!

      Thanks man! It is indeed! I'll be doing a video about it as soon as I've fitted the old style trem bar and given it a little set up!

      @@RichardWatson Congrats man - those bad boys have become VERY hard to come by in decent condition - I am looking VERY much forward to your presentation! Some of my all-time favourite players swore by those things back in the day and it is so sad that Gibson has simply decided to sit on the brand for the better part of 25 years (though many would say that VA died when the shop burnt and McGuire was forced to sell VA to Samick).

    I saw Giant on that tour! Incredible band. I also videoed that show in question from the TV and I think the audio was replaced because the sound quality on Dann’s guitar that night was dreadful at times - a magazine reviewer (one of the rock mags prevalent at the time) who was there commented on it in a review of the show and subsequent tv broadcast. He commented something along the lines of ‘a guitarist of Dann Huff’s quality should never have to play through a rig that sounds so poor’ ( or words to that effect)
    The show I saw (in Milton Keynes at The Woughton Centre) was faultless and is still one of the best shows I ever saw!

    I recently discovered Dan Huff...crazy, I know! But now It's opening the door to other great related videos, like yours!!!!!!! Killer tone and playing, Richard! I just subscribed. I look forward to exploring more of your videos. PS...what is your signal chain for this video? I'm getting ready to look around your channel, so I apologize if it's been addressed elsewhere. Cheers!

    Ive really been enjoying your vids since I subbed the other day I've been checking out your main influences, also
    I started playing in the 60s, for a living in the 70s until 2008 or so, so my influences are studios musicans kike Grady Martin and Reggie Young, and rock influences...the two biggest are Robin Trower and Eric Johnson, who i watched come up in little clubs here in Texas where i was playing
    64 years old and learning from great guitarists like yourself. I appreciate you!

    Awesome work as usual Richo! I was just listening to Believer when you vid popped up!!😃 I’ve started hunting for Tyler too,any good reliable online sellers you recommend? Wher did you yours? Or did you buy directly from Tyler?

    • @RichardWatson

      Hey man! I got mine was GuitarGuitar in the UK but this was a while back so prices are half what they are now. I'd definitely recommend dealing with Steve Gray (GuitarGuitar) if you're over here. Otherwise I'd keep your eye on Reverb. Arthur Vere in France buys and sells Tylers fairly regularly and really looks after his gear.

    Hi Rich, what gauge and brand of strings do you use?

    • @RichardWatson
      @RichardWatson  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      D'Addario 10-46 on my Tyler! 11's on my PRS guitars. Occasionally NYXLs!
