12:37 i would say it's better to buy a refundable ticket (not a throwaway ticket). Spending more but have those money returned after 3 months to your bank account.

I am retired, living in Kansas, and have never travelled overseas--but want to. So I'm guessing that your US phone is also the way you get your authentication code/text when accessing your bank account while overseas. I do have a Charles Schwab debit which reimburses fees. Hi Gary. I have T-mobile. I pay $60 a month for unlimited. The data works pretty well in most areas. I also have a Philippine phone with a post paid plan that runs about $15 a month. You need a local number for things like Gcash, etc. Thanks for watching.
Im thinking of going to Manilla next year for a year maybe since i just have to make a change in life, i will have perhaps 1000 dollars a month to live on when i first arrive and will need to find a job as soon as possible. Any advice where a foreigner can find work there?
It is very hard to find work locally as a foreigner here in the Philippines. $1,000 a month is a very tight budget if you want to live fairly comfortably in Manila. You might be able to do it in the province, but understand your quality of life won't be the best. Your best option I'd try to find a remote job that allows you to work online from anywhere.
