- Hello guys and gals, it's me Mutahar again! This time we take a look at Final Fantasy 16 and it's time for me to tell you as a fan of this franchise how solid this entry is. This game might as well be my game of the year with how polished it is and for anyone new coming into this franchise, this is a great starting point. Thanks for watching!

final fantasy 15 sold over 9 million copies , So they cried about sales and money kilning the game going back on their word for content and mods , final fantasy 16 is not going to sell much more so how can we trust them? Tomb Riader sold close to 9 leading them to selling the ip. The idea they have for sales is messed up , its so high they will never be happy. i will wait to see if they pull a ff15 on it.

Finished FF16 yesterday, completed every sidequest, every bounty, read all the lore. Its a masterpiece, loved it

The active time lore is a game changer. I read a lot of fantasy. Exposition and world building are always a problem because there is always a sacrifice between keeping the reader informed and the pacing of plot. This beautifully solves that problem. It elevates the medium of video games above the novel and film as potentially the best way to consume fantasy. simple yet brilliant and innovative design.

The side quest are good for building the world and it’s people. The ones in the hideout are mainly so you can feel connected to the people you are trying save/help.
There are also side plots in Lostwing that makes it worth the trip, you see that area change as you engage with the side content in that area.
Agreed. I don't deny they're not super exciting but if you space them out enough they work fine.
The sidequests are incredibly boring.

Really really great prologue, I’m locked in and I’m sure most people who play want to see where all this goes. Not to even mention how amazing the gameplay feels.
The bright lights will definitely hurt peoples eyes.
Not a fan of the map type system ( map is the overworld / hub and you choose a stage), but the story and gameplay definitely have me more hooked then what i already was lol.
The combat is fucking dazzling. DAZZLING. It just feels and looks so fucking cool.

I’ve done all the side quests and can absolutely say they do get a lot better later in the game. A lot of them are filler, sure, but some of them are multi-mission quest lines that have a big payoff at the end. Even having their own proper cinematics. I highly recommend you don’t skip out on these. Plus there’s the extra XP and it’ll pad out the runtime of the game if nothing else. Trust me, once you start playing you are not gonna want that main campaign to end.
Completely agree, thought the side quests were relatively bad in the beginning but they did get better and helped tie down the characters and had very nice moments.

Dude thank got we still have Yoshi P. Breaks my heart to say but Nomura is no bueno as a lead director. Changing the storyline in FF7 Remake was the last straw for me. So sad because his character and backdrop/world designs are great.
Dirge of Cerberus definitely deserves a remake. That game is heavily underrated.

Aparrently the good side quest come later in the game as you meet people and you revisit them to see what their up to and to close off some story line, so don't ignore the side quests after you beat the MSQ. Also apparently people's PS5s are turning off because people haven't cleaned it and they are over heating, which is why it's only some people's ps5s that are shutting down.
Can confirm, just bought mine and everything is working fine, playing on 60 fps mode and it drops for sure during mid battle especially noticeable in the morbol fight

6:40 reviewers have stated that in the latter half of the games the side quests become really good and flesh out the main story

There are legitimately good sidequests though. How about the one where you have to retrieve a rich girl's "pet".. only for it to be revealed to be a slave that died and Clive has to give the girl a lesson on morality and the value of life. Or when its revealed how dreadfully evil people are towards the branded by making them fight for their life against wolves for sport. I dont know, goes a long way from just giving out plates on a kitchen, so I would say it does get better.
OR THE ONE WHERE CLIVE GRTS THE OLD CHOCOBO BACK THAT SACRIFICED ITSELF SURING THE RAID THEN WAS LIKE FIGHTING BANDITS I THOUGHT I WAS TWEAKING I LOVED IT
I will say the sidequests get much better as you play the game and there’s so much lore that is revealed through them. For example unlocking the chocobo or revealing the reason for why the branded mark can’t simply be removed. This is a phenomenal game.
i just got into final fantasy single player, starting with 10 and i love the turn based system. after a day of work, its nice to come home and be able to progress a game without having to actively move and react. what a damn shame for me personally, i hope they bring back the turn based some day.

Super psyched Muta loves this game as much as I do. People have been sleeping on this title since it's reveal day, it definitely has potentinal to be one of the GOTY. It was delayed for the longest time but that's just to make it a perfect Final Fantasy.
I am a fan of the older turn based titles, but my problem with the recent mainline titles is not that they weren't turn based, it's that they tried to make some weird hybrid of the old menu oriented combat and action RPG which turned out really bad. I'm glad to see they fully committed to the action RPG this time.
Yeah. I understand that. I played final fantasy 15 and I kept saying I would rather play kingdom hearts. I enjoyed 7 remake and I am glad they are trying something new with this one. Final fantasy games are meant to feel different from each other.
They did in fact change that for this so hopefully you can dip your toes in !

The game is true quality. It deserves GOTY. No Final Fantasy has ever won it but I think FF16 deserves it.

Man this year's Game of the Year is going to be pretty tough to decide and damn since they got Yoshi P and DMC combat director on this, it might as well be pretty obvious all their hard work probably will pay off.
There is zero chance this wins game of the year. Itll be Zelda, Re4, street fighter or possibly spiderman 2. This isnt a top 5 game in terms of hype or salss

Fact is, Final Fantasy has always been a turn-based rpg. So you're not entirely wrong when saying it's not Final Fantasy anymore since X, but i still love the series as a whole
I Watched FuzzFingerGaming show a little bit of the demo and I was no longer unsure if I wanted to buy like 2 minutes in. The combat looks awesome. FF14 meets Dark Souls/DMC. It's going to be awesome and I'm actually exited for this one.

So I am learning this week that a lot of TH-camrs I know of are actually hardcore Final Fantasy fans on top of a lot of others I haven't heard of.
I decided this year I'm gonna play through all the Final Fantasy games (well unsure about the 2 mmo ones but I try to figure something out when I get there)
so far I've played through 1-3 and I'm currently on Final Fantasy 4 atm

I've always enjoyed the Final Fantasy series since I was a little kid. Playing the series since I was able to comprehend what I was actually doing as a child, lol. When I learned my RPG games were, which I didn't know that is what they were called, I always enjoyed the stories each one provided. I can say that the story has been amazing so far. I was like holy crap at the beginning. I'm sure this will be my game of the year as well.

i just beat it last night finished every side quest havent done every hunt yet but the story the characters the gameplay THE BOSSES it was all amazing and this game is masterpiece

The side quests are presented like they are in FFXIV. Talk to NPC A, NPC B, do fetch quest and maybe slap around some mobs

Just got the notification my preorder shipped. Can't wait to play in four more days when it's finished installing, updating, authenticating, ToS agreementing...
Just now finished the game, still have the end game quests to do which some I have done are freaking amazing. Story was fantastic, combat got insane the more eikons you unlock and realise all the combo potential. Characters and VA was incredible, music was epic! I have nothing else to say. Finally a full complete game beginning to end with no bugs!
10/10 masterpiece of an experience for me.

As much as people have mixed feelings about stranger of paradise, the combat system for me was so danged good (co-op made it better).
How similar in terms of combat, and possibly multiplayer, is this game with stranger of paradise?
Will it be worth the wait until it comes to pc?
Ff16 is DmC and Stranger of Paridise is Ninja Gaiden/Nioh in terms of combat.
the person who worked on DMC5 combat (the person who beat the boss on stage) is the lead combat designer for FF16 and there are also helps from Platinum devs and Kingdom Hearts devs. So Hack n' Slash and not Soulslike.

The side quests remind me of the side quests in FF14. I love the game but I have a lot of issues doing the side quests bc they're so boring and tedious. Sometimes they ever bleed into MSQ and you have Tataru asking you to help her cook and stuff. I can understand why on an MMO you'd have these types of quests but I wasn't expecting that in a game like this.
I disagree slightly, while some quest are really go do this and go do that, some of them I really like and actually blend to the world, like quest where this noble man and his son use wolf to kill bearers or the one with the child where you have to find her “Chloe” or the one where you get Ambrosia back. Idk I don’t find them to be that boring or tedious.
The side quests in the first quarter/half are definitely as bad as muta says but towards the middle/latter half they're actually really good im developing characters and adding more context to the world. I did every side quests. 😅

I am so happy for this game. Is like a dream come true. Sadly i will have to wait till it releases on PC and also i have to buy a new PC that will be able to play it. So that might be probably 3 years at the best scenario.

Those side quest sound just like the ones in FFXIV. I also hear that the stories from those side quest span over the entire game also like FFXIV so that's pretty cool.

Ff13 was turn based it used the modern ATB system even Lighting returns from like 2013 is a blend of turned based and the active style of combat.
Everyone hates the battle system for FF13 for some reason, I think those folks just never put in more that a couple of hours. The battle system became a lot more fun the further you got in the game.
@@ShockinglyBleh people hate it because it takes until right before the finale of the game to unlock the ability to change characters letting you customize and play around with the system.

@@IlIiliIliIl again the emphisis isn't on the attacks what you do its what you use and the classes this is why any remotely good composition of paradigms use all of them and why having something like cerebreus (3 commandos) suck so does Tri diaster( 3 ravagers). I will say they fumbled the execution horribly, if they were to bring more attention and create more specialized classes and such it would be way better. This isn't the conventional jrpg where what you are doing matters

I don’t really notice a dip in frames when I play I have a just bought ps5 and idk if that’s why but it runs fine in battle for me I really hope the people who are having this problem can get the fix they need cause this game is so beautiful and I want everyone too have the same love we all share for this game

FF16 is the cutscene of the year
The fact that the Final Fantasy series isn't turn-based anymore is the only reason I've gotten more interested in it. No matter what, I just can't get into turn-based combat, so the real-time combat direction that FF games have gone in has made me actually check out a few of the recent games. The demo for the game was good, so I'll consider getting it.
What?? You mean you DONT like spending 20 minutes fighting a level 1 slime not skipping any dialogue or cutscenes during battle?
There are still turn based FF games being made, just not mainline ones.
Story is also good. It's more mature and brutal like beserk
It's been the opposite for me. I don't think the complexity of the turn based combat translated well into realtime, so I found myself gravitating towards Persona and the like more and more.
Mainline FF games haven't been turn based since FFX (X-2 technically). Where are all these turn based purists coming from? I didn't see them when XV came out. I didn't see them when VIIR came out. Suddenly, the best mainline game we've got in years releases and they're everywhere now.
I'm glad to see there is a genre that enjoys this game.

There was also some glitches involving quest completion flags not activating under specific conditions that the patch was meant to fix

Not all side quests are like that. Especially the later ones. They are very relevant to the story!
I was going to say this too! The side quests are kind of what you expect at the beginning but as the story opens up and more characters are introduced the new side quests tell some awesome stories and really expand on the characters and world!
A mainline single player Final Fantasy hasn't been pure turn based since 2001 with Final Fantasy X. Glad you're enjoying it and I'll be picking it up tomorrow. I've been a FF player since 1994 starting with FF6.

As someone who has tried multiple times over the years to get into FF15 and just not able to after playing the demo for the first time today by the time I fought the boss that jumped off the castle I knew I was going to get the game the same day after finishing the demo and im so happy I was able go get into it

I'm getting a PS5 this Friday when I get my bonus check just for this game, I'm so damn excited! As for someone who played Final Fantasy 14 for over 1400 hours, I already know Yoshi P will NOT disappoint with the story. On top of that, I really enjoyed Devil May Cry 5, I grew up on DMC as well anyways, so I'm not salty about them going full on action with the combat. I'm also very excited for FF7 Rebirth and seeing what the future of this crazy JRPG series has in store...

A new Era of Final Fantasy fans, the series had been on a downward spiral since after FFX being the last good entry so its amazing to see square pick themselves up going back to the roots.
At least give the proper person, Ishikawa, credit for the story writing (and Koji-Fox for western localization) instead of defaulting to typical xiv fan nuthugging of Yoshi.

They’re all standalone.. different story, universe, characters every single time. You don’t have to play the others to understand

Sword and Fairy 7 looks similar combat wise, been playing that and it's awesome too, niche game though, but best story ive experienced in recent years with nice game atmosphere and immersion
I've heard from other reviews that the side quests later in the game get really, really good.
Marginally better but still pretty mediocre.
I think the side quests are short so that they don’t distract you from the main storyline.
