XV was my first final fantasy and I’ll never forget the way it made me feel that first time
It's a special game mate, need to get around to platinuming some more!
I'm really happy that Square put the tag "For old Fans and New fans." In the intro. I've played FF games since 10, and fell in love with the series. But it was hard to get some friends into the Final Fantasy series, until 15 came out. And I bought 4 copies for me and my boys. They clowned me so hard for being a weeb. But when they played it, they really fell hard for the series. Lmao.

Most people that don't like it were people who wanted Versus 13 instead of what it eventually became as 15. The hate also comes from the game being extremely unpolished and unfinished. 80% of the plot was scrapped and the majority of the cutscenes were scrapped. The second half of the open world was also discarded.
I still love the game, I just think it's filled with wasted potential and unfinished ideas/content.
FFXV has the best ending of the entire series in my opinion, the soundtrack is also some of the best
FF 15 has the best bromance! Also no bears were harmed in the making of this platinum

I love this game. Its just an adventure with the boys. Also this has to be experience in japanese voice overs for a full enjoyment because you can feel those emotions there in the fullest. Thank you for the video 😊

FFXV was a good choice for a FF platinum trophy. I love this game and got it when it came out on launch. It's my favorite FF and still is after the remake and FF16. Just loved spending time with the boys and exploring the world. Also I would recommend you do the platinum trophy for Mirrors Edge Catalyst. I heard the online servers are being shut down soon and platinum trophy will no longer be obtainable. 😢
I'm glad I decided on XV too especially since it seems to be the best or worst depending on who you ask and if this is the "worst" then I'm in for a good time! I am considering grabbing those online trophies for Catalyst!
It's always a pleasure when you find a game that really should be a grind, but still you find yourself enjoying every minute. Glad this was such a positive experience for you after the frustration from a lot of the previous wheels.
It's a great feeling and in comparison to other games we've talked about recently even though it's longer it felt no where near as tedious!
Glad you ended up liking that game and I think it's a great choice for a first platinum in the series because it's by far one of the least grindy of the "modern" Final Fantasy games.
Yeah that's what I noticed too, seemed like a nicer platinum experience for a first time player than some of the others!
FFXV is my favorite game in the series and of all time. I loved getting 100% on Xbox, and did pretty much everything in the game even after being done with achievement hunting. The story and the characters make the so much fun. I got the Royal edition on PS4 and got the platinum in about 70hrs. The development hell of the game can be felt but damn it’s so freaking good
Ironically this was my first ever platinum all the way back in 2017, watching you go through it really brought back some nice memories.

I'm glad you enjoyed FFXV, I really do think most of the hate it gets is unfounded and granted it's different take on the series but overall it's a pretty fun game. I think Tales of Arise is something you'd enjoy. It's a lengthy game but the trophy list is pretty fun overall and on the easier side.
Yeah I remember this game being not the most popular back at release but I had fun with it and if this is a low point for the series as many say then I'm in for a hell of a series! I'll add Tales to the wheel!
Would love to see you platinum Enter The Gungeon. It's a Rougelike game where everything is gun themed (For example, almost every enemy is a bullet type.)

I also did it myself fairly recently and was in the same boat as you, not a fan of JRPG and all. But I had a blast plating it and really enjoyed the ''boys doing a road trip'' kinda vibe!

Ive literally never heard of that ability you used of the last fight, i always thought you just had to fight it for hours
iirc, it wasn't always in the game, i mean the ability did exist but it didn't work in that fight, it was added later on

Good stuff man! I'm in a very similar boat as you, where I've just never been all that interested in Final Fantasy or JRPGs in general, so I'm glad to see you enjoyed this one! I just recently dove into the series myself and completed Stanger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin back in August, after a friend bugged me to do it in coop with him. It was a lot of fun until the absolutely awful DLC, which had a lot of forced solo content. I stuck it through anyway for the 100%, but it was miserable.

Your experience with this platinum is quite similar to me! I played a few hours of the game, left it alone for a few months, came back to it and fell in love with it (FF7 Remake already made me love the series last year, however I was not platinuming it at the time nor will I do so with that one). Just platinum 15 last week actually, and it's all the same as what you said in your video (Fishing went faster for me though), I actually just did the roadtrip, camping, fighting monsters, fishing etc. Survival was the most annoying one (Apparently if you don't sleep for a few days ingame, it goes faster).
I don't care what anyone else says, this game is good, it definitely has flaws and problems, but it deserves more praises. Soon as I found out I could switch party members like in FF7 Remake I used Ignis a lot due to his spelldaggers being good in battle. Also just 100% Ignis episode because he became my favorite character, I plan on doing Prompto and Gladious at some point and maybe the other DLC trophies (The mutiplayer one isn't possible, so you won't able to 100% the game, so I have read, they made it a standalone game.). Hope you enjoy the episodes one too.
I loved this game so much that the platinum was an enjoyable experience for me despite all the grind :)

Congrats on the plat! I have the same skepticism about starting playing the FF games, seems like a great task and timesink but will probably give it a go at some point.
Also for the wheel I recommend adding Helheim Hassle, think I have mentioned it before but it is a really great puzzle platformer and a great platinum!
Yeah they're daunting but glad I finally went outside my comfort zone here because I had a blast with 15. Helheim Hassle is on the wheel my friend!

Hmmm if I were to recommend one I'd say Enslaved: Odyssey To The West if it hasn't been put on the wheel, feel it's underappreciated & would recommend to anyone. Only downside being the orb collectibles.

If it's survival, don't sleep for a few days ingame, I had half 9 done, and it took forever until I actually didn't camp or sleep, went up pretty fast (Still took a bit)

I hated this platinum for the fishing part. It was my last trophy, it took me forever.
Anyway, great video! I'd like to recommend you put "Kena: Bridge of spirits" on the wheel. Great game! I've finished it but haven't gotten the platinum. When I see you get it, I'll feel inspired to go back and get it as well.
I didn't mind the fishing part but again, it didn't take me too long. The Survival skill was terrible though! And absolutely I can add Kena to the list!
I've had FF15 installed since i got a PS5 and got all the PS collection freebies. This video might be what makea me actually load it up.

i played most ff games, and i really thing ff15 is really underrated! this video brings back memories since ff15 is my 2nd platinum, and i only have 2😅(the other one is horizon zd)
I have pretty similar feelings and experience of this series. It absolutely felt so big that getting into it would be so difficult. But this year during a steam sale i noticed ff15 had a playable demo. i thought well nothing to lose so i installed it and i loved it. Instantly bought the full game and played nothing else until i finished it. Tried crisis core a few months later and i did not enjoy it anywhere near as much. I somehow put almost 19 hours into it but i didnt finish the game and stopped playing. I plan on going back to finish it or to play 7 remake but for now im staying in my comfort zone with games lol
Yeah I can feel it's going to be one of those series, especially for me the turn based games are going to be interesting as that's not my favourite but hey, every once in a while its good to explore outside the ol' comfort zone!
@MayorHairBear I specifically looked for the non turn based ones. I feel like I need to get more invested before I start playing those because I dont like turn based combat either. Definitely good to get out of your comfort zone every now and then but I've mostly played games out of my comfort zone this year so I needed a bit of a break.

I've never played any final fantasy game but it's everywhere so knew it was an rpg which isn't really my genre.. wanted to try it but when jumping into a franchise I like to start from the beginning and I don't understand the order of the franchise either so it's too scary for me😅 the 1-3 actually look fun as I do enjoy some turn based games.. I don't know the list but how about rdr, rdr2, ghost of tsushima, cyberpunk 2077, LA noire, one of the borderlands, sifu and Detroit become human.. hopefully one of them isn't on the wheel already lol
Yeah it's a daunting series mate, as far as I know though you can jump around a lot in the series and play it non linearly which is cool as I'm not the biggest turn based fan. And as for your suggestions, all very popular and I even have an RDR 1 video for you already!

I remember vids of people spending like 15 minutes using the ring of the lucii on adamantoise. It was soo goofy back then, because it used to slowly turn this massive mountain turtle into a pseudo-2D image that eventually shrunk into nothing.
FF15 as a whole was jank af on release. Royal really improved a lot on the base game.

Most underrated FF game imo. I love the story and gameplay.
I suppose, my only problem with the base game is that they turned the insomnia invasion into a movie. It took away a lot of fun gameplay and story from the game imo.
But my biggest problem is the DLCs got cancelled. I'm still distraught about it.
I had fun getting 15's platinum. Only trophy I didn't like too much is grinding the fishing stuff for Noctis skill points lol.

@@eekbal2018 You don’t have to do any of the online stuff to get the platinum as it came out after the initial release. Not sure if it’s doable solo.
as someone who has this plat the survival skill was an absolute pain and i myself had to rubber band my controller so i feel for ya
It's the best way to do it honestly, I'm not sitting there for 10 to 20 hours just running!
ya and it was the last trophy i had to go and do but fun fact this was the first platinum i went for and to this date i have a good 32 to my name as i mostly go for plats if i think i can do it and if the games realy fun
mirror's edge catalyst is gonna be unavailable on dec 8 if you want to plat it and ff 10 or ff 7 could be fun to plat

I honestly loved this game. Online was kinda fun but wasn't huge on it but the weapon crafting was a neat idea.
FFXV problem for me was its too big for its own good. It should've had a smaller map with more dense locations and should've tried to make more of the story in the main game.
Since its split between a lot of medias, the movie, anime, side games, and dlc.
Despite its many faults its a game that I still enjoyed from beginning to end, even crying every damn time that ending its.
Only watch the movie and anime last year during my 100% and enjoyed them quite a bit.

Yeah I think XV has it's share of problems, the world is a bit big lacking content to justify the size and the story definitely feels divided but I still had so much fun with it and I'm excited to play the DLC stories soon!
I love the final fantasy games my only problem with the trophy grind is there is always at least 1 trophy that’s just a joke to get and all fulls down to luck

Whenever I play a game, I pretty much go for ALL the DLC trophies on top of the platinum. And something that has me nervous about doing that for Final Fantasy 15 is how the online servers are dead but there is this weird method to get them even after the servers are dead but I'm I might accidentally botch something and mess up my chances so I'd rather just wait for a PS5 remaster
Yeah the online trophies are what worried me out of the 100% as well, just seems too unstable

I got the plat before the dlc came out and I just can’t be bothered to do all of them to completion like I did the main game. Beat them all once that’s enough for me.

That's exactly how I felt but they don't seem to be all that connected at least in terms of story. I found this one at least very easy to follow along with the basics

You should have played around with armiger unleashed and test the combos at least in training mode it's really fun.
Also the last "secret" dungeon is pretty cool and you didn't do it either.
Lastly i will say that this game on the surface doesn't really show why everyone was so hyped about it in the first place since it was so rushed.
I won't explain the whole controversy about versusXIII here but basically this story is being redone properly inside kingdom hearts.
I don't know if you have it on the wheel but one of my favourite games rage please try I'm sure you will love it

I guess this is the base game platinum and not the royal edition.I got it without even trying just by playing the game because I just loved it so much.
It was my first platinum, too.
The DLCs were great as well.
The villain gets a dlc too and it’s the best one. Play in order of release of the dlc for the 4.

okay, but you have to play episode ardyn too, as it brings a whole new meaning to the main villain. also, im not gonna go on a whole rant, explaining this game’s extremely tortured development, but to put it simply, Ardyn was never meant to be the main villain, and the official ending of the game wasn’t the intended one. there were 3 unreleased dlc chapters that were gonna be in a season pass with episode ardyn which would have given the game the ending the developers intended, but unfortunately, the director was done dealing with the game’s tortured development cycle and being left to patch it all up, so the three unreleased episodes were released in a book titled “Dawn of the Future” which contains the game’s *true* ending, which is imo much better. im personally very passionate about the story of- and behind - this game, cause this game was a highly influential part of my childhood, and has inspired me through the writing of my books. it’s okay if you’re not as passionate about it as i am, but i would suggest that, if you’re interested, you play lol the dlc and if you’re a reader at all, read the Dawn of the Future
You are sooo lucky you don't have to get the dlc trophies to get a plat xD im out here on pc and i only get 100% achievements when i do the dlcs and multiplayer (i think). congrats nonetheless, this is a major feat!

It’s still brand new, but you should totally put Baldur’s Gate 3 on the wheel if someone hasn’t suggested it already. Great game.

There's a bunch of combat mechanics in ffxv that most people don't know about because they don't even prompt tutorials for them, it's very unfortunate.
For anyone reading this check combat tutorials ingame, basically pushing the stick to the side or back, then attacking has different attacks for greatswords and lances. with the ring of the lucii if you tap your attacks instead of holding the button down you can do stupidly strong warp strikes after, again check the tutorials for context.
My sister is a huge Final Fantasy fan, she's got 100% on at least half the mainstream titles but even she just holds attack with the strongest set of daggers she could find.

I did mostly enjoy the game but the platinum trophy had the opposite effect on me. It was pretty easy but man was it boring. I didn't even play the DLCs because I just wanted to move on to another game the second I got the platinum.
