What I don't get is that homebrew shops and Amazon have been selling small CO2 kegs/growlers like this for years for $100. The only thing different about this one is that it's square. I can't see how this is different.

Why is no one asking why has there been no rectangular kegs until now? Round kegs are much more efficient at storing pressure meaning you dont need as much wall thickness. Making it rectangular increases manufacturing costs and overall weight. The pressure problem comes from the corners in the rectangle creating stress concentration.
I was thinking the same thing, there are far more gimmicky alcohol gadgets then this that cost far more money, but this one actually has a solid purpose that enhances the drinking process and keeps your booze alive longer.

Even if it has more volume, considering how it doesn't create any dead space (you can put other brick-shaped things on the same shelf, using it at full capacity), it virtually occupies less space.

I know right. In Australia we get 5, 10 and 15 liter kegs, they are round, the 5l easily fits in a regular fridge. On the boat, people just drill two holes for the tubing in a small bar fridge. Two 15l kegs are enough for 5 people on a 3-5 hours fishing trip. The 5th doesn’t drink much as someone has to be sober enough to navigate back to the shore.

honestly I'm shocked mark couldn't really see the value in this for event venue's like sporting events or private VIP lounge events you could most certainly set something like this up easily for event venues and scale that up to large scale systems but wine is also another interesting facet to develop into and especially if you can modify the product into install line systems you could easily make these portable taps for restaurants and sports bars as well i really think the main thing that turned mark off was the CO2 cartridge going off making him extremely nervous to how one would disassemble this product for installation its a real shame though maybe mark should try out airsoft and get used to them would help him be in a better mindset for how to implement this product

So what? I spent 13 years in the industrial gas industry. One gas can do many many things. Liquid CO2 will carbonate your drinks but is also used to snap freeze sea food on mega trawlers. Nitrogen is used to displace oxygen or make fertilizer when combined with Hydrogen. There are pentanes that are both solvents and foam agents to make polystyrene. You sound like an id!ot.
Based on reviews it looks like they have some QC issues and general trouble scaling the business. But, again, $260 for a one time purchase is not bad at all. The idea of filling this to bring to a BBQ instead of a 12 pack is VERY cool.
