Syd Mead was also commissioned to work on an American live-action Gundam movie adaptation in the 80's which never materialized. There's some concept art you can find online and it's surprisingly faithful to the Mobile Suit Gundam '79 anime aesthetic, though the script was apparently quite a departure.

it's interesting that Izubuchi supplied the other designs like the kapool (which is still a 10/10 and I don't know why Bandai hasn't put out a new kit), and while the design philosophies are different, both feel like they belong in the same universe.

Some slight corrections. What you showed was not the Bandit. You can see the Bandit in between the Turn A and Turn X at 6:21.
And though you didn't mention it, Mead also designed the Wodom, the Jet Stream (aka Mobile Rib) and the unused 4LEG.

fan-subs are a must. dubs in anime are made bad by design. the audience who prefers them are just missing out - the levels of energy; time; and magic put into original sound of anime is vastly lost in the west. serious problems with story and very important parts of the show are completely lost in translations. characters speak in English sometimes - so how is this represented in the dub? it isn't. not @ all. absolute failures.
so-called professional subs are also a disgrace 😂
fan-subs are just everything.
