Great vid! Always appreciate the shoutout, my friend. S glad you dug Zach Top. That dude has GOT IT!! Great seeing you show the Slash album. I don't think it gets nearly enough attention. Such a great album! Speaking of great albums, you had to show "Highway Prayers" from Billy Strings. What more needs to be said. Billy is tHE DUDE!! Sturgill....I'm sensing a pattern here. Honetly I didn't expect you to have so much country on your year end list, but I'm not disappointed. I'm finishing up my year end list(s) as we speak. Hope to have videos up next week. Billy-
Thanks Billy! Honestly when I started going through everything for this year at first I wasn’t expecting to have so much Country on my list but then BOOM! there is was! I could have had a lot more honorable mentions but just didn’t want to go down that road. I can’t wait to see your list!
Kendall some nice picks and even some albums that I have! Wow. I had not seen that Sturgil Simpson album. Still working on my list, it has been very tough to do this year. I listened to some of the Lemon Twigs but it seemed so slow. I need to listen to them again I guess
Re: The Cure - I hate to push compilation albums but, Standing on a Beach is a great place to start. Thanks for for the video and your recommendations. Gonna check some of these out!
I would have appreciated it more if you could have recommended some of the top tracks on each album so we could check them out just to get an idea of the sound
It's funny cause I've never liked country but last year Stephen Wilson Jr came out with an album. I accidentally caught him on some Saturday CBS music thing where he was playing a couple songs this past summer. Then in a vinyl group, someone turned me into an album called cutting grass vol 1 by Sturgill Simpson that I enjoyed. He has a new moniker of Johnny Blue Skies and that album that came out this year that's really good. Recently on someone's top list, they had Charley Crockett, $10 Cowboy on it. Very awesome vintage sounding voice and they used 6-12 musicians on every song and recorded it live in the studio which sounds fantastic What's funny is I started typing this while listening to this video and mentioned Johnny Blue Skies as your #2. There's a few on your honorable mentions I need to check it out. In no particular order here's my top 23 list of all the albums i enjoy from 24. Youll be befuddled to know that Lemon Twigs didnt make the cut. 😂. I have many friends that really flike that album. I just liked a couple of the songs but i dont view it as a masterpiece. And the 70's seems to be the decade i love the most. I know im in minority though. 2024 best albums 1 Disco Biscuits-Revolution In Motion, 2. Lotus-How To Dream In Color, 3. Beebadoobee-This Is How Tomorrow Moves 4.Lawrence-Family Business, 5. David Gilmour-Luck & Strange, 6.Johnnie Blue Skies-Passage Du Desir, 7. Smashing Pumpkins-Aghori Mhori Mei, 8. I really need to check out Charley Crockett, I keep seeing him pop up and hearing people talk about him. I have to be honest I haven’t heard most of your list so will need to check it out. Thanks for sending it!
@spindoctorandhisvinylmayhem no problem. I also like the album before $10 cowboy called man from Waco. I didn't like his stuff before that. He came out with a second one this year I didn't like much either but considering he came out with two albums this year, I'll give him a pass and hope it picks up where $10 cowboy left off

It was definitely hard to narrow done to 5! You definitely need to give that Lemon Twigs another shot, I love it! I look forward to your list!
One step ahead of me. Need to get mine in before the end of the year. Are you doing a used pickups too?
I haven’t decided, I have so much and it would be so hard that if I did it wouldn’t be a ranking. We’ll see. What about you?
@ yeah, I’ll def be doing one. Prob top 10 like last year ✊🏻

Yeah I need to listen to more of the Cure, like I said I know the hits of course but just never really got in to them heavily.
I would have appreciated it more if you could have recommended some of the top tracks on each album so we could check them out just to get an idea of the sound
I didn’t think about that but you are right that would have been a really good idea. I will keep that in mind for the future.
