I'm really starting to think Mr. H is a soldier of the future sent back in time to secretly give us the specs on Skynets models to get us ready for the coming war. He knows wayyyyy too much.
The Terminator: Dawn of Fate featured these two as enemies within the game. They were numerous and the most encountered enemy, though not very hard to defeat.
Skynet: develops T400, gives grenade launcher, explosives and rifles. Orders T400 to kill all humans. T400: flails arms, spins around and throws explosives in all directions. Other T400: start shooting the defective T400. Other Other T400: begins shooting THAT T400. Skynet: face palm in digital bits.
If I remember correctly, the T400 chassis armor was so weak that a burst from an Uzi could render holes in it. Not only that but the weapons they first used were basically big, boxy, guns that fired off caseless ammunition. If my memory serves correct (which it probably isn’t) but when the resistance became more organized and plasma weapons were put more into common use, Skynet then saw the infantry role for the T400 series as useless due to them being so easily destroyed and thus a waste of resources. So Skynet took them out of the combat role and repurposed them into maintenance and janitorial roles.
I believe the T-400s along with the T-500s were also used as Cannon Fodder against Resistance emplacements so they would waste ammo also used as Sucide units with Bombs strapped to their chassis

@@colemorrow5042 The t-1000 doesn't have to remain whole or in any certain shape to function, whereas a gun or clothes or anything or a T-800 can't function when shred to nano-sized pieces. The T-1000 is made of nano-bots, so even if they are separated due to time traveling he can reform as seen many times in the movie.

C K no dude i don’t think the t-1000 is better than the t-x. Both of them are inmune to gun weapons of the past plus the t-1000 is weaker and its main weakness is high or low temperature because it doesn’t have a skeleton like the t-x. Also the t-1000 is fucked if there is giant magnet because if you see again terminator 3 when john Connor or his girlfriend activate the giant magnet the t-x was trapped in the magnet and the liquid metal of the t-x that form the skin can’t do anything she with the skeleton have to cut part of the magnet to damage the magnet and the t-1000 is made of that liquid metal.
The Terminator universe just begs for expanded lore and backstories. This is another good example of how something like Skynet would almost carelessly put together mass-produced robots despite their flaws, as they would seem to be superior to humans anyway. Not accounting for the desperate will to live, ingenuity and the true anger that mankind can display, Skynet will have lessons to learn.
I wish they would make a game where you could play as Skynet and command your robot army to wipe out mankind. As the game progresses you will get access to better terminators, but will have to acquire and manage the resources to be able to build them. It could be like a military management sim or even an RTS.
Looks like the R-107 from TimeSplitters 2 =P And that image about 6:01 looks quite creepy, reminds me of the aliens on They Live. I wasn't aware of this scrappy looking robot. It was probably used as a steamroller or battering ram for known resistance outposts.

great video and to give you theory on how T-400's could feasably capture humans, simple since it easy to mass produce they could be send to low danger zones where the T-800 or other more advanced terminators would be a waste of resources and simply corral human through sheer numbers, afterall a T-400 even if not as tough as a T-800 would still be resistant to most firearms making it ideal for low priority targets like groups of unarmed or barley armed civilians.

If using OG base story and the game, Skynet is sending 3 machines in the past just shortly after get shut down by human. First machine is T 800 infiltrator prototype to hunt Sarah connor, second is T 1000 prototype infiltrator to hunt John when still a child, third is T 850 infiltrator to warn Skynet about their losing in the future and make better preparation to face their enemy, and hunting Jacob River (someone who responsible to find Skynet Central core location and destroy it).

Where are the T-700 explanations? In Salvation all the terminator's being built where 700s and stated so in the book. The only 800 was the T-RIP , but for some reason in the movie they had Connor call them 800s. But the 700s are obviously taller and bulkier.
Perhaps there were so many more humans at the time (earlier in the war) that the T-400 was used to capture humans through attrition rather than guile? If I needed to capture humans, it might be easier to surround them with an inexhaustible supply of ‘dumb’ T-400s but as numbers dwindled and humans continued to improve their tactics and organization, Skynet came up with infiltrator units like the T-800
Im kinda thinking about writing a book in the terminator series. I plan on keeping the events of the first two films and salvation. (I love salvation, please don't crucifie me.) Set in the future though like 2018-2020 when lasers start coming in and the transition from Modern weaponry to high tech stuff and the evolution of the resistance, and the machines. I've always wondered why they didn't create mouse like terminators that can get into anywhere and use a tiny mouse plasma gun to shoot people on the head when they slept.

Anyone ever think that glowing eyes is a terrible design choice? Not just for visibility, just that cameras tend not to work too well when they're flooded with light constantly.
Given the numbers and its expandable nature. I guess skynet would send the t400 in mass to pretty much overwhelm the humans it wants to capture. All that assuming they surround them after successfully locating their hideout with other methods.
I like to think that the T-400 was used as a proof of concept model for bipedal models so that skynet could work out the kinks with balancing when it comes to walking standing and running

There is no T-400. Never happened. All we know from CANON sources is the 600 series which had rubber skin which we have never seen (Salvation is not canon so it doesn't count) and then it went to the 800 units which looked like Arnold and Frank Columbo (seen in the Reese future war flashback of the 84 film). The last prototype is the T-1000 which there was only ever 1 made which was sent back in time.
Considering terminator now has a multiverse/multi-timeline thingy going on, there is no longer 'canon' and 'non-canon', only main timeline and multiple alternate timelines
FUN FACT! The T-400's appeared in the video game Terminator dawn of fate and were basically cannon fodder compared to the other humanoid terminators. If you haven't heard of or played Terminator dawn of fate go check it out and see for yourself what me and many others had to face during the campaign.

This isn't a canon material at all due to the fact that the only visible appearance of T-400's was in a single game called Terminator: Dawn of Fate, the only older Terminators other than T-800 mentioned by a Kyle Reese was T-600's with robber skin. But if they could somehow implement these older T-400's into the other movies or rather games because we no longer have the classic timeline with the Skynet, I would be very glad for that. However, they should totally change their design, their design in Terminator: Dawn of Fate is very non-reminiscent in terms of everything related to the Terminator, yes they should look aged and obsolete, but not like a bunch of metal boxes connected together and painted on orange, that's a silly game design. I want to see actual T-400's from original Stan Winston's head full of brilliant ideas, but that's not gonna happen. 😢
