  • I know this isn't what I normally upload, but I made it for myself and wanted to share it with you all. Hope you enjoy it. I'll be working on another DDS vid in the meantime. Full disclosure, JFK was, and is my favorite President.

I stepped on American soil on Decmber 13, 1960 as a legal immigrant and was not interested at that time in politics since I couldn't vote. But I liked what I heard about President Kennedy. For the funeral day the owner of the company I worked for set up TVs in the cafeteria and had everybody watch the ceremony for 2 hours (paid). I heard the owner say that he did not vote for Kennedy but our country did not deserve this. To this day I rate this the greatest time of unity in this country since its beginnings. Compare this to today.

@@xo2quilt For sure you are not wrong but did it not fall apart rather quickly? You heard Kennedy talk about inequality that Pres. Johnson finally put into law? I am devoted to neither party but what is going on presently is not healthy.

@@cestmoi1262 I don't think it happened quickly...it's been doing that for perhaps the last 3 decades, that I noticed, and sped up considerable in the last half of that time. Definitely not healthy and made more unhealthy with a wide-open border letting anyone in the country.

He truly wanted to free the American people from the debt machine, and he paid with his life for his bravery. Kennedy was a true leader. America needs someone like him now more than ever.

I just stumbled upon this video! Been following DDS for a few years now and have only come to expect dash cam vids. This made me smile, as JFK has had a huge impact on my parents life (via a member of my family working very closely with him during his time in office). We have lots of letters and memories all around the home. Very happy to see the impact he had still reverberates around this country.

Truly a great president, seeking only the same for all of our people, strong and stable in his words to other nations and in
seemingly to want the best for the nation and her people. Pray for our nation, her people and our leaders.

True leaders like President Kennedy are a treasure. One this country should never forget. We can only hope that his ideals will come back into fashion with the passion he had for serving the country starting with his stint in WWII and going forward.

I saw a very good documentary about him last year and realized that though he was flawed he always tried to do the right thing for America.
    Excellent job DDS!

Yes, this would be off topic for this channel. But there are times when we need to be reminded of the greatness of the United States, not just economically, but also in the massive amount of goodwill this nation has shown across the entire world, more than any other nation in the history of the world. And be reminded of the greatness of its people, each doing what they do best with minimal interference, thereby creating a synergy never seen before in the world. A people who have a government and not the other way around.

Thanks DDS TV for this wonderful look back. I am old enough to have lived through all of those scenes. As said in other comments, they don't make presidents like they used to.
Compare JFK's statements with the retoric of vindictiveness of some politicians, like DJT.

John Fitzgerald Kennedy served in WW2 on a PT boat, and became our youngest President. I was born in 2004, but I heard nothing but great things about him. Seeing this tribute makes it easier to understand why people liked him as President. This is how politics SHOULD work, but over time we've perverted the image of politics by electing assholes and morons. If I could go back in time and prevent this man's assassination, I'd do so with an M1 Garand because Lee Harvey Oswald deserves to be stopped using American made firearms that are more than ready for the job.

You would need to find the second shooter, the CIA set LHO up as the assassin but there was a second shooter.
I have always wondered how John F Kennedy went so far out of the family's normal dealings. He did care about America, went against the war mongers that wanted to start a war with Russia/Cuba during the Cuban Missle crisis and was pro civil.rights which were not what the Democrats stood for at the time, look at the congressional voting record on that. He was such a dynamic person most everyone was appalled they killed him and morned him greatly.

I am sad that these words are no longer embraced my America. I am comforted that the Greatest Generation (his generation) has all but died off lest they see what we have done to the nation that they fought and died for. He would be appalled (I am certain) with his own party if he could see just how far afield it is from the Democrats of the 50s/60s. Pray for our country (what's left worth saving), and may God Bless and keep safe our servicemembers in harms way.
