These mods need to make the giant leviathans move slower so you get a sense of scale and so the turning doesn’t look so janky. It was hard to tell just how massive it was until it started clipping through the islands.
This one is very WIP. The mod is super ambitious, as it adds a bunch more leviathans in addition to tons of new islands. Aci is behind it, and has a bunch of dev updates.
@@plaidhatter1674 I get that, but I feel like it’s a super common problem. Almost every mod that adds a new giant leviathan makes it move way too quickly.
God I hate it when my sonar doesn't hit anything. It just instantly hits me with that impending doom because you can't see anything but wide open ocean even with the sonar.
As someone who has read and checked all the mod wikis for Subnautica, the sonar was driving me nuts. The Silence hunts by SOUND. It literally dampens all other noise to listen to it's prey. Like there was literally NO WORSE REACTION than sonar spamming.
Thing about sonar in game is that it’s a double edged sword, using it gives you a better look at your surroundings, but same time makes your position more clear to others and makes you a target just begging to be attacked.
@@Brant-vh5mk Again, modding takes time, and besides, if I was making a mod like that, I wouldn't release it to the public until it was as good as I could make it, which seems to be their mindset, too.
When I look at the Void Leviathan, I just for some strange reason feel like it's not scary for some reason. Sure that thing is big and quiet, but when its glowing like that... Yeah I don't feel scared enough... Probably because I have a huge fascination of the ocean.
Remember every modded subnautica ytber was like "Guys is REAL idky ppl are saying it's fake". But they show NOTHING but a black screen saying "THERE IT ISSS OMFG " wouldn't call those good times but. Good times.
for the literal first beta draft it's very impressive. Especially considering that one team has literally spent about 3 bloody years creating the gargantuan leviathan and it's still not available, and looks FAR more jank than this from videos.
And that’s what makes it less scary for me. When I played it, no matter what I did it just didn’t stop attacking for a second so I could grab the signal. It was too fast and too aggressive and I get that it’s kinda the whole point but as a player I should still be able to have a second to get out and get the signal. To me it felt just…kind of annoying? But it’s still just a shard and hopefully they’re working on making more and making it better🤷♂️
Wished they had darker ocean parts in the game. Pitch dark ocean is my biggest fear. I've ran right up to the leviathans and stabbed them but everytime i have to look down when I exit my vehicle at the floating island, i just about have a heart attack.
At first, i was terryfied, but then rewatching after seeing everyone say that the SONAR ATTRACTS that thing is a totally different type of suspense, due to the reasoning
The silence scares me three times as much as the gargantuan. Reason being this. The garg can in no way sneak up on anything. It is too loud and large for that ever to be possible. The silence makes no noise at all, can be nearly invisible, and has nothing to clue you in to how close it is beyond the foreboding pound of your own heart. Even the sonar (which attracts it like a dinner bell) fails to reflect off it's body, whether it's optically visible or not. That implies that it absorbs sound perfectly. And that isn't even to mention it's signature ability. Emiting sound at the exact same amplitudes as the surrounding ambience but with opposite wavelengths, effectively silencing all ambient sound... so the only thing that can make sound in it's presence is other living things. Understanding that, one would be lead to assume it's an apex predator that eats like a king. And yet a scan will tell you it's starving? How can that be!?
Bruh look at how goofy he looks, it’s very clear that the reaper and ghost have a lot smoother movements, and overall design such as sound. There is no way anyone is actually getting scared by this mod
This mod does have a lot more going on besides this particular leviathan. If you want to see the progress of it, the channel Aci is behind this one. Besides, the gargantuan leviathan was janky and broken for a while as well.
I understand the horror they went with, but fundamentally and even in-game, the logic of sonar is true. The fact this leviathan isn't picked up on sonar with the ping is irritating. (Yes, I'm a Subnautica player who isn't that scared of the leviathans.)
The eyes are cool and scary but the way it just spins on its axis and doesn’t drop threat when you get to the islands (so you can actually explore what you’ve discovered there) is pretty unimmersive.

@@Milan0807 exciting, I haven't been keeping up with Aci's channel so I wasn't sure
This mod is what Subnautica would’ve looked like if it never made it out of pre-alpha.
Curious how you managed to keep your sound, but not get the PDA voice line or silence roar 🤔
I also noticed that bug. Didn't know why it appeared though. Thanks for checking out the video. Keep up this good mod
this mod and return of the ancients whenever it comes out are gonna be absolutely stunning in VR
I never realized how large the silence was. I thought it was about the size of a reaper leviathan, but this thing is BIG.
I learnt to do the most counter-intuitive thing: get out of the vehicle; and drop a decoy.
He really went there with a seamoth, AND ALMOST NO UPGRADES!
Oh hey, the silence! I recall seeing this thing on Deviantart YEARS ago. Cool that it's actually been modded in finally.
3:32 Тут я начал подозревать
3:39 Момент, когда мне пришлось поменять штаны
I love the way. Subnautica is set up where the reapers and other animals will attack and then pull back to give you PTSD.😂
That mod creature was scary for about two seconds until I saw it rotate 😅 and no sounds either? Sheesh...
I hope this mod will have better fate than return of the ancients.
What do you meam?
Return of The Ancients isn't canceled, if that's what you're implying. It's just taking a while, modding takes time, it's just how it is.
@@cartersmith8904at least you can download and play a preview for this mod
@@Brant-vh5mk Again, modding takes time, and besides, if I was making a mod like that, I wouldn't release it to the public until it was as good as I could make it, which seems to be their mindset, too.
@@cartersmith8904 I agree, I just wish there was something small that can be tried out.
2:15 I'm panicking! Use ur fucking radar!!
Not scared anymore of Ghost Leviathans 🙃
wat xD play normal hardcore once and you will never be scared of anyone
@@shapeless.movies *Pulls out stasis rifle and Thermal blade*

Man without that sonar you would've 100% alt+f4'd
When I look at the Void Leviathan, I just for some strange reason feel like it's not scary for some reason.
Sure that thing is big and quiet, but when its glowing like that...
Yeah I don't feel scared enough...
Probably because I have a huge fascination of the ocean.
I think I would cry or never play a water game ever again if I installed this mod.
Remember every modded subnautica ytber was like "Guys is REAL idky ppl are saying it's fake".
But they show NOTHING but a black screen saying "THERE IT ISSS OMFG " wouldn't call those good times but. Good times.
So the silence hunts based on sound and you decide to ping your sonar which is just a giant sound that echoes
All these ‘SUBNAUTICA MOD HORROR’ videos all boil down to a poorly animated, enormous spaghetti monster spinning around aimlessly
Most of them are still under development to be fair
@@hamzawakkas894 yeah. My expectations be too much
I like the fact this creature is starved and isn't even as big as it could be
Rip the ai bugged so hard with how many times it was aggro'd with sonar
for the literal first beta draft it's very impressive. Especially considering that one team has literally spent about 3 bloody years creating the gargantuan leviathan and it's still not available, and looks FAR more jank than this from videos.
The monster's AI and animations turn it from terrifying to absolute jank
Well it wasn't just your heart that stopped holy shit
💀
I even jumped a bit i cant believe that you witnessed it 10 or maybe even 20x more than me 😅😐
And that’s what makes it less scary for me.
Honestly the ghost leviathan scared me more than that other thing did
It is pretty goofy. Still, for how early of a mod this is, it is pretty impressive.
Have you guys seen the video on the lurker leviathan? It is clearly a play on scopopophobia which is the fear of being watched
The seamoth really should have a camera in the back.
3:38 words cannot describe how bad that bump sound scared me
that just took twenty years of my life
At first, i was terryfied, but then rewatching after seeing everyone say that the SONAR ATTRACTS that thing is a totally different type of suspense, due to the reasoning
How can that be!?
everyone gangsta until the music stops and it gos black
This game scared my harcore caracter so much that he will surely die hiden in his base...
Man this guy is underrated
Thank you very much! Trying my best
No problem
3:15 "Can you stop pinging my discord."
Are you certain whatever you're doing is worth it?
Holy fuck it can go invisible. That is a nope from me.
I would freak out no cap
Don't talk like one of them, you're not! Even if you'd like to be.
@@MDE_never_dies I didn't quite get that, like I'm Brazilian, but I don't know if they speak Portuguese so....
@@MDE_never_dies the fuck does that mean?-
No cap on god?
@@Kittynom Yeah man, I'm trying to understand too
the really janky movements the leviathans make kind of ruins it for me, cant help but giggle seeing one do a sudden 360 for no apparent reason
It's literally in beta, like the very first draft.
Fair enough, though keep in mind how early of a mod this is
sick a new creature to scan
It's a glitchy iguana, if you're scared by this that's okay but don't pretend it's normal
..... Well thats.... That's a new liviathan
you’re 8 get out bruh
Sure is, not so friendly looking one too 😂
@@saucysponge3660Well he joined yt 5 years ago so i dont think so
Why am I watching this at night?
It's just Subnautica
Does this expand the base map of subnautica into the void a bit more or...?
It expands the map a little bit in the void
The exact moment I realized… oh. It’s _that_ big isn’t it?
When you see the end of it's tail... But then you see the ACTUAL end of it's tail. Jesus christ.
the depths are calling....
The fact its so big and yet so silent
Like owls but a gigantic heart attack with fins.
Personally I find ghost leviathan’s very adorable.
I jumped so hard I slammed my knee against my desk-
💀
Seamoth:☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️
The real scary thing here is freedom mode
it moves like it only weighs 1 pound like a stiff kit
I understand the horror they went with, but fundamentally and even in-game, the logic of sonar is true.
The fact this leviathan isn't picked up on sonar with the ping is irritating. (Yes, I'm a Subnautica player who isn't that scared of the leviathans.)
The eyes are cool and scary but the way it just spins on its axis and doesn’t drop threat when you get to the islands (so you can actually explore what you’ve discovered there) is pretty unimmersive.
