    You are so awesome for doing this. Been trying to figure out that drum thing for a while, and now I got the looper down too. I LOVE this keyboard, had it for 3 years now, even used just the piano sound for performance on a BIG stage through a huge PA a few years back, needed to pack light. I used a high quality 1/4" to 1/8" plug and more people asked me about that keyboard after the show, because it sounded so incredible through the PA! We had a wonderful sound engineer, too. THANKS AGAIN!!

      @@ACOUSTICDI I know! I plan to use it to perform with too. Sounds much bigger than it's size through a PA.

    Bought this keyboard a few days ago (also from Japan via ebay) for my 6 year old son, and I've been playing it just as much as him. Loving it. Incredibly good, especially for the price point. I was wondering if it had the ability to loop the recording, so thank you for demonstrating that!

    Bought one this Christmas (89 EUR brand new), as a total beginner, so I can practice piano, improvisation and learn MIDI. It's perfect in that role ! My flow to build a song is to record a backing track, use the "arp hold" function to overlay one of the built-in beat, and play over that : 3 instruments in parallel. Didn't know about the loop functionality, very useful tip !

    nice job! I am a professional musician whose guilty pleasure is maximizing the use of small/inexpensive keyboards. Among my collection of instruments of all brands and categories is this PSS-A50 as well as the "arranger" PSS-F30. I think you've done a fantastic job explaining and demonstrating your workflow. Rock On!

      I'm looking to buy my 10 year old daughter one for Christmas. She's a complete beginner. Which model would you recommend? The A50 or the F30. Thanks in advance 👍🏻

    • @jeffeason853
      @jeffeason853 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@MBYT83 If you can find one the F30 would be my recommendation based upon the variety of sounds and accompaniment styles. The A50 has more synth sounds and arpeggios which is fun for electronic dance music etc, which might be a fun noisemaker for a teen or young 20-something.....but I'm not sure that would be the right choice for a 10-year old beginner. Actually for a 10year old beginner I would strongly recommend looking at a Yamaha PSR-E383 right now as there are some exceptional holiday deals now around $150 US which is not much more than you'd pay for either the F30/A50 if you can find one. The PSR-E383 is very musical. Lots of voices, lots of accompaniment styles, full-size keys. it is a tremendous bargain. Good luck!

    These are sold in the US. You just may have had a hard time finding it, that why you don't have the English documentation/manual. I have one of these, it's great for the price, size, and what it can do. It has the keys from Yamaha's more expensive Reface Series of four different keyboards, as well as other entry models like this, but this is the best one.
    My good friend from Japan, Masataka Kono, a jazz pianist has a whole lots of videos with this and many other keyboards, he is the MINIKEYs master for this and the Reface CP and using two or more of these, or in combination of other keyboards, drum machines, or as a keyboard controller for in iPad and MacBook.
    The only real downside is the older micro USB that makes it harder to find a cable if not hooking up to a device with USB A.

    • @gtberg
      @gtberg  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No, there is no way to layer two instruments or split the keyboard. This is a toy keyboard keep in mind. For children. Only costs $100. If you want to layer sounds together, look to spend around $800 - 1000 on a keyboard.

    Hi. Great video!. I bought this keyboard some days ago. I'm enjoying. Well, The piano sound is not so good as I wanted. But as you said, there's always the midi connection and app where we can choose the sounds we like. The recording section is very interesting. But it looks only can record a frase. And that frase don't stay save. I mean. If we record another we loose that one. Any suggestion so we can keep the fazes and right we create? So we can use it again without having to create them again? Thanks so much. Wish you health and sucesso. From Portugal :)

      I started to record stuff off the A50 onto a Tascam recorder, and then transfer that to a computer, so I am building some basic backing tracks that I can play off an Ipod and that saves time when I'm busking, etc.

    Maximum Loop Recording Time ?

    Hi, on 11.29 you played 5 bars (4 beats) i am doing this loop recording so maximum times extra 4 beats or 1 bar goes extra silently, please help me

    • @gtberg
      @gtberg  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Use the metronome when recording. Stop the recording before the "one" beat of the next measure sounds. The chime sound is the "one" beat, so if you hear the chime, then hit stop, you will have silence on the loop. So you have to hit stop before the chime. I find that hitting stop at the same time as the 4 beat works. Try that.

      Can the looper overdub?
      Edit: I found the Quick Start Guide: 2K notes or 10 minutes at 120 BPM. You can overdub and modify loop synth params during playback. Looks like 1 loop and on power off it is gone.
