I realize that this comment is 11 years old, but yeah.. just to add my support to that. DeGarmo was the creative engine (at the very start of Queensryche it was a collaboration of primarily DeGarmo, Tate and Wilton, but it turned into 95 percent DeGarmo).
This whole album is just remarkable, seems like every time i get to this track i have to throw it on repeat a few times. Such ambition and quality from start to finish, Tate turns in a masterpiece that in the state of todays musical abomination..... this is beyond epic. 1988 the year concept albums reached a pinnacle along with iron maidens seventh son of a seventh son. Never again will a band write such greatness. Embrace the moment here.
I saw them on this tour. The entire band was in a zone. They were unstoppable, absolutely on a higher, perfect energy level. They dominated the rock music landscape during that time.
Queensryche was an absolute MACHINE back then, and one of the all-time greatest hard rock/heavy metal bands ever to take the stage. It's such a shame Geoff had to ruin it all.
I do not think Geoff ruined it all, it was just bad luck, he was apparently ill then, might happen to anybody really, Queenryche was one of the greatest bands then..just they were not lucky..Operation Mindcrime is a masterpiece, one of the best albums ever in my opinion
Oh no problem... I kinda feel bad telling people because I don't quite watch Queensryche in the same way, but I came back here today and listened to some of the older songs and I can still sing along (or try!). It's a shame he tainted such a great legacy by acting so incredibly poorly and immaturely.
Flaggius, I have always considered "The Ryche" to be one of the greatest Metal Bands of all time, and I have ALWAYS considered "Operation Mindcrime" to be "THE GREATEST METAL/ROCK ALBUM OF ALL TIME!" 23 years later - I STILL LOVE IT!!!! You have posted and DONE GREAT WORK, promoting Queensryche's videos and music! Good job! Keep up the good work! rduquet
There's No Direction To My Stare No More Flame Burning In My Heart Anymore OUIET I Keep It To Myself Until The Sun Sets Slowly I Hear You Voice In The Evening Rain Calling Nothing Will Keep Us Apart No More Lies And Fear There's No END To The Story ..
Hey there Dear Ff of mine 😉 & I too 💖 the original Queensryche and amazingly got to see Geoff last summer on his own with his new band, but still under his band name Queensryche and singing some of his cool songs & btw it was awesome and \m/ and he sounded great! 😉
My band covered this classic for around 15 yrs. We played and sang it well, we always did songs that we loved better than the ones we didn't.(go figure!) We always loved covering Queensryche!!
@Phrygiandom I remember buying the tape (yes, the tape) back in '88 (Mindcrime was my introduction to them) and listening to it obsessively. Then I saw them live in November 1991, with seats pretty much front and center; it was awesome.
These challenges were compounded by changing interpersonal dynamics within the band and the extended family. As the bandmembers’ families grew, it naturally became more difficult to balance time and energy between their art and their families. And since some new family members didn’t always get along with existing bandmembers, the relationships between those bandmembers were strained. (ed. take a guess, folks)
There's no direction to my stare No more flame burning in my heart anymore Quiet, I keep it to myself Until the sun sets slowly I hear your voice in the evening rain calling Nothing will keep us apart No more lies and fear There's no end to our story
the band would do sooooooooooooooo much better if De Garmo rejoined. I know lots of friends who wont bother going to see them now but would if Chris was back in the band. I feel pretty much the same, the band just aint the same without him. Dont think the band realise how much popularity they would regain if it was the original lineup again.
Chris wanted very much to be able to spend more time with his wife and children. His efforts to make the business end of the band work were stymied, apparently at least in part due to lack of interest or participation by other members. And the very close relationships he’d had with one or two other members crumbled, as they focused more on relating to new family members, who didn’t necessarily like Chris.
EMI went bankrupt at the time he left so they had to use their own money to finance the remainder of the tour, which was the Hear in the Now Frontier tour, 1997. I also heard that Tate became seriously ill during this tour and they had to cancel concert dates for the first time. Hear in the Now Frontier didnt sell very well either, so I guess that's why he left. The band members have cited burnout and a desire to pursue interests outside of Queensrÿche as reasons for his departure, I heard.
A guy with DeGarmo's talent should be playing guitar not flying business jets. Such a shame. It would be one thing if he were a stunt pilot or doing something that few others can do . . . like playing amazing leads.
Degarmo is a professional Pilot now. As is Bruce Dickenson who was touted as a hero in England for flying over 100 people out of Palestinian territory during some major unrest years ago.
legal statements o nthe court case from Wilton states there has been a couple of fallouts betweenGeoff and Chris, unfortunately, hat's another reason as well
Please, any kids out there who play or sing that are blown away by bands like queensryche, please go to your rooms, lock the current shit right out of your mind and practice practice practice..
Wasn't it also around that time that GT was going through a divorce from his first wife Suzanne. Maybe Chris DeGarmo just needed a normal life. Always being on the road is tough on a marriage. He's a commercial jet pilot now, I believe.
I don't care what anybody says, Chris DeGarmo was the driving force behind the music of Queensrÿche. Really miss him...
I realize that this comment is 11 years old, but yeah.. just to add my support to that. DeGarmo was the creative engine (at the very start of Queensryche it was a collaboration of primarily DeGarmo, Tate and Wilton, but it turned into 95 percent DeGarmo).
Yeah when Chris left i lost interest honestly
He was. My band covered a ton of material from Queensryche. Nothing after Chris left. Just not as good. I miss those days.
Geoff and Chris together yeah.
"Promised Land" was the last QR album I purchased when it released.
It's not Queensryche without Tate and DeGarmo.
Chis and geoff were basically the face of queensryche and the band is nothing without them or their genius songnwriting
I don’t understand how anyone can give a thumbs Down to the songs on Mind crime
People with no clue about musical talent. Probably pop listeners 🙂
This whole album is just remarkable, seems like every time i get to this track i have to throw it on repeat a few times. Dan Conley
I SO AGREE
Imaginos by Blue Öyster Cult, too.
that bass drive during the alternate solos of DeGarmo and Wilton is simply phenomenal
Tate is an incredible vocalist. He underwent vocal training and became one of the best vocalists ive ever heard.
this is mine,forever.
The Bass Line Is Blowing My Mind! The Pure Hard Driving Lines Is The Perfect Enhancement For For This Song! 😁
One of the best rock bands EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

I saw them on this tour. The entire band was in a zone. They were unstoppable, absolutely on a higher, perfect energy level. They dominated the rock music landscape during that time.
@@clownchaostime3024 I saw that tour too in Chicago, May of 91. Best concert ever!
Those chords that michael and chris play as rhythm guitar when the other is soloing are haunting
2022 and this performance still kills!
2024. Still in love !!
This is in my opinion - THE GREATEST METAL ALBUM OF ALL TIME!
rduquet

been to a lot of metal concerts, I only went by myself once, there was no way I was missing them \m/
listing to thiis band always pumps my blood
I understand now why bands dreaded Queensryche being the opening band. They'd have to go out and top that!
Queensryche was an absolute MACHINE back then, and one of the all-time greatest hard rock/heavy metal bands ever to take the stage. It's such a shame Geoff had to ruin it all.

Marita Navarrete Spitting at and assaulting your bandmates and becoming musical dictator is a little more than bad luck.
Really? Then he went too too far. Thanks for the info Maddolis I had no idea..
Oh no problem... Agree with you there. A shame.
MINDBLOWING... Geoff, DAMN!!!!
Flaggius, I have always considered "The Ryche" to be one of the greatest Metal Bands of all time, and I have ALWAYS considered "Operation Mindcrime" to be "THE GREATEST METAL/ROCK ALBUM OF ALL TIME!"

When asked who did their concept album better; Queensryche or Iron Maiden, Bruce Dickenson said Queensryche hands down.
Their unique style made them one of my favorite bands. They compliment each other. All members get equal credit in my opinion.
i saw them last year. tate still kicks ass. REVOLUTION
.....💙.....🔥🤘

***** 😊 & btw nice & yet bittersweet song too but 💔 & I don't like the hate in it.
My band covered this classic for around 15 yrs. We played and sang it well, we always did songs that we loved better than the ones we didn't.(go figure!) We always loved covering Queensryche!!

Greeeeeat performance, sounds like the studio version. Love this song!!
I agree, Queensryche has done some many bullshits lately, but this album is the best rock/metal album of all time.
all I know is that queensryche is one of the best bands ever. I hope they come back to Arizona again.

@edhombre this tour was better, they were the headliners and suicidal tendencies was opening for them, so they had a better staging and time to play.

This is from Livecrime.

Hi, I just bought this DVD and there's 2 bonus tracks. Does anyone know how to access them? Thank you very much.
*this did not use to sound so shitty! Do you hear how TH-cam has changed the algorithm and compression for all the older stuff??*
@rduquet I agree completely, gotta be one of the best ever made !!!
A guy with DeGarmo's talent should be playing guitar not flying business jets. Such a shame. It would be one thing if he were a stunt pilot or doing something that few others can do . . . like playing amazing leads.

@Flaggius At least, last I heard on a comment from I am not sure how long ago
legal statements o nthe court case from Wilton states there has been a couple of fallouts betweenGeoff and Chris, unfortunately, hat's another reason as well
I heard he is a pilot now!
rduquet
...does someone here in Memphis, believes in love. ;-))))))
Damn, i was born too early...
Michael Wilton looks like Jason Becker. If only Mike had that kind of talent, on the other hand....
Please, any kids out there who play or sing that are blown away by bands like queensryche, please go to your rooms, lock the current shit right out of your mind and practice practice practice..
