Geoff Tate is an American singer and songwriter. He rose to fame with the progressive metal band Queensrÿche, who had commercial success with their 1988 album Operation: Mindcrime and 1990 album Empire. Tate is ranked fourteenth on Hit Parader's list of the 100 Greatest Metal Vocalists of All Time.

Geoff sounds amazing saw him at town n country club leeds when operation mindcrime was released eyes of a stranger my fave but hate bringing their kids in privellage is not available to most of his fans so no from me

I can’t believe it myself! I have been watching him for past few years and he’s dropped weight, and voice got better! Axel needs to call him and ask what the secret is! Definitely deserves to play bigger venues! Come to Philladelphia!
I'm guessing he took some advice from Gene Simmons and started using backing tracks! Seriously, any vocalist who smokes cigarettes the way he has, your voice goes gravelly and those high notes don't come back.
@@stephenmccagglol internet is insane with the backing track thing...Geoff is absolutely singing this duet with his daughter live! This is a small club and everyone up front can hear the sound coming out of his mouth above the speakers...if you've ever been in the first rows of a club this small

I saw him last month and it was clear there’s no backing track. He’s quit smoking, cut back on drinking, lost weight, and had heart surgery. His voice has improved greatly, which is awesome. ✌️

@@bretttrommler756 Yup that’s Geoff’s Daughter (or Step Daughter) Emily Tate is her real name I think, she’s been singing this song with him since there song Home Again on the 2009 Queensryche album American Soldier (great song by the way).
He has 2 daughters and 4 grandkids.

@stephenmccagg , I saw him 9/14/23. He has some reverb and compressor in use, no pitch shifters, and no backing tracks. I know the sound engineer at the venue. My son and I were at the console during soundcheck.

His singing is much improved even from 3-4 years ago. Great to hear that he's working hard to get back in vocal shape. Unlike some others around his age that are simply embarrassing themselves like Don Dokken and Vince Neil

Operation Mindcrime is hands down the best concept album EVER. Saw that tour in Las Vegas and Phoenix and my buddies and I still talk about it today.

This is an amazing video. My favorite singer! We saw the tour in Phoenix on Oct. 4th. The band did not perform this song. It is cool that the band is doing different set lists at shows. Thank you for posting.

Was there on the 17th in Newport, great show - so many 80’s singers with fucked up voices these days just phoning in their performances. Geoff has still got it and his band were decent as well. Very surreal though that his daughter was running the merch stall lol

Yup he’s definitely sounding better, and this is a good attempt at a great song with his daughter, but the band sound like they are trying to rush it, sounds a bit messy😔
Well done. I guess my issue is with the story. The protagonist and Mary... they aren't supposed to be related. It's kinda hard for me to feel that immersion I did 40+ years ago.

Geoff sounds good, but not too keen on his daughter's voice.... It lacks emotion and power compared to the original singer.... Also sounds out of tune in a few spots. Overall, just much much weaker than the original...But again, Geoff sounds good, so all isn't lost.

He's singing ok, better than the past few years I guess, but the band is not impressive. They look like a garage band and don't sound much better. The guitar players are either out of tune, or they simply can't hit the right notes.
this one i agree with, want to see queensryche tunes? go see the actual band they sound excellent and Todd La Torre is a an excellent singer
