i ve been playing FF7 since i was a teenager, the Materia system was something else to master and this system is again something else the few things that i needed to clarify, i think 50% of them were cleared in this video.. awesome content!!
You can also find where the recipe book is located in the synthesis screen. If you click on the little tab in the bottom right corner for recipes and turn it off, it shows ALL the materia coded into the game. Then you just click on the materia and it will pop up a window and show you where it is located. There are materia that will show up but we do not have the actual recipe available yet. Bio is a good example, that was shown since day one but we only just got the recipe for it.
@@BodhiJMSRyder Yessir! It shows all the breech materia, well the ones for fire ice thunder, as well but just says "N/a" since we can't actually get the books for them yet.
I would not recommend using co-op medals to get the 3star synth chunks. You can get them really easily from doing the synth weapon quests, especially when they do a 30% drop event.
if you want to see how many subjects you have synthesized just go to the top right of the menu, profile and if I'm not mistaken there is a button next to your id where it shows you how many battles you have done, how many coops etc., and there is also how many syntheses you have done , however you said it right at the beginning, because in the content only you unlock if I'm not mistaken only the magical version of the subjects, for the physical version you have to go to the dungeons, and for the subjects like debreve barrier etc., I thought I was unlucky with almost 2k synthesis to have 7 or 8 5 star subjects😂unfortunately 2 hp almost 8% and I got one a few days ago that had the highest patk at 5.7, the funny thing is that immediately after I did a 4 star treatment with 7.1 patk ,always very nice ever crisis true haha
@@BodhiJMSRyder Thanks for the reply! I thought that might be the case cos the story mode gave me one but I can't beat the sand worm thing in the story corel prison in order for the dungeon to get unlocked. I was hoping to get the recipe to make more to try and beat it.
@StarEmi1 hmm yeah that work is tough but they just announced in the livestream that they will be reducing story boss difficulty soon! So you should clear it no!

sorry because it's the third comment but just to let you know, when you get a critical success you get back a percentage of the objects you used to enhance the materia, and even if you upgrade the materia with other scarcer materia and it gives you a critical success, also They will give you back materials, but only small and large ones
My advice, I expanded storage to 200 early on. Makes materia so much easier. And it cost less than a single multi that probably wouldn't even have gotten me 5star. Advice for managing materia, once in a while sort your materia by sigil, element or by name (with sigil and element set as none) and lock your best materia. Then when you upgrade your materia, use all the non locked materia as upgrade material. That cleans out your storage quickly and efficiently.
I've been playing since day 1 and have never expanded my materia slots. I only have about 80 I keep locked. I have a ton of great 4 star and only 4 5star(and they are honestly garbage that I rarely ever use). Honestly I only use them for stat sticks. I rarely ever use them as an intended elem attack since I have a ton of high OB weapons that do better damage. I also have a couple N/A materia, like defaith, debrave, etc that I could just toss since they only max at level 5 so the % gain on those are limited compared to everything else. The way I look at it is I generally keep 3 of each type of materia, so 3 Fira and 3 FiraBlow etc for each element. I keep 1 focused for DPS with HP%, Patk%, Matk% and then a defense of some kind either Pdef or Mdef. I only remake the materia if I have a higher opposite attack%. For example, if I have a FiraBlow with a higher Matk% compared to Patk% I will try to remake a better one with more Patk% and toss the old one. I keep this mentality for the other 2 focused on healing, and SubDPS. I'll make my SubDPS basically the same with a focus on HP%, Patk%, and Matk% but if it has a defense of some kind I'm ok with that. My heal materia will be focused on Heal%, HP%, and preferably both defenses. But if my heal has something like Heal%, HP%, P or MAtk%, and then P or MDef I'm ok with that since either P/MAtk% can help with LB/Summon damage.
@@wiseguise5960 even if I clean out all my bad materia, I still have over 120. Keeping at least two of each variation adds up. Even then, three regular and three blow circle sigils isn't enough, I like more stat options. It takes about 8 slots for my circle sigils. But my main reason for expansion is convenience. The time and frustration spent because of low storage ruins the fun of playing. I learned this early on in gatcha games. The drop rates are not rng, the developers control everything. I doubt they would give you less weapons because you spent gems on storage
It happened to me on 2 of my 7 or 8 subjects that they came out with the upgrade, but what is truly, truly ABSURD, in my humble opinion, is that I saw someone who put a post in the Italian community, who had an upgrade from 3 to 5 stars!! I don't know what kind of ass someone has to have for something like this to happen to them

I was wondering how to get the Healing Darkness materia. I got one in the story but don't have the recipe and can't find where to get it

It happened to me twice. 3 to 5* btw😊. recently got quake blow 4 to 5 and blizzard blow 4 to 5. the rest were born 5* total of 16 so far
