You see, ever since I played PoFV (which is frankly still my favorite Touhou game), Eiki's theme just gave me such a good feeling, both because it sounded powerful, strong and potent, and also because hearing it meant I was at the end of the road, after all of the enemies I've defeated, one more, the most fearsome, remains. Great job on this one, I loved the judgment part and all of the hype was rewarded!

Eiki's theme is probs one of my favorite themes, so I'm honestly really happy you chose to do her theme! You captured her character rather well in my opinion and shown her, overall, more serious and no-nonsense attitude as opposed to certain portrayals of her, while fine with them, doesn't truly showcase who I believe she truly is. That being a powerful, intimidating force of absolute judgment and strength while still doing her best to make those she encounters try to get back on track. Actually Eiki is a very tall girl. Taller than Komachi in the PoVF Reimu ending. So this voice will be perfect in my opinion. But because Lyrica choose this illustration it's probably feels weird for some peoples.

at first, i didn't like shiki. i thought she was too harsh. but looking at her now, she really is one of the nicest characters in touhou. she'll lecture people when they've done something wrong, but also help them correct themselves and get their lives on track. i think we all need someone like shiki in our lives.

It took me until now to realize that one of the lines got changed from the work in progress back when that wasn't patreon locked. Under the burden of guilt, here the gaudiest flower shall wilt. Colored red in raw emotion too strong for it's own weak soul to contain When colors fade, black and white shall remain Edit- first, the original I actually think was Burn not Wilt. Since Lyrica decided to drop by and explain the change in line this was probably alluding to what would befall the sinful soul at the end if they didn't change course. Second, it has been a day and I am still shocked and honored, but mostly shocked, that you are even back here still even after releasing a new dub more recently. and for some random guy who remembers something he saw back in like, 2016 or whenever.
Whoa, we've got a real insider here...! You're right~ Lyrics get tweaked a lot before the final draft, even up to the last minute. In this case, while "red" offers an obvious image of danger/deadliness/sinfulness, "violet" ultimately felt like a much more meaningful color to emphasize as symbolic of sin. The iconic flowers associated with the incident in PoFV are specifically "violet cherry blossoms"... and I also wanted the color violet to evoke Yukari, whose name literally means "violet." Eiki and Yukari are known not to get along very well, which is to be expected between someone who distinctly judges things by a binary versus someone who manipulates and blurs borders. Yukari's lyrics actually included a line that was somewhat meant as a callout to Eiki: *"Just a trick of light paints the world in black and white. What keeps it all from blending into gray?"* -- so I thought Eiki should have something that sounded like a line of warning back at her: *"Tinged in its deep violet stain... When color fades, black or white shall remain."* Most of my constant tweaking is minor and picky and unimportant, but I think this one was particularly worth it!

I am sure I don't speak for just myself, but whenever I hear a touhou song that Lyrica has added lyrics to, I try to sing along with those exact same lyrics. In a franchise so full of self-interest and antagonism, it's refreshing to have a character like Eiki, whose so benevolent to try and save everyone she can, even the ones she doesn't like.

True, but that's part of the beauty of the fandom. There are some works that does exceptionally great as complimentary pieces to Canon. or whose Head-Canon has it's own weight, and even then just for the pure fun some fanworks become are worth it in itself, or you can enjoy some of the edgy works. Just gotta note the difference between official touhou, and fanwork touhou.

@@Gaudimann if my memory of their official artwork is right, eiki is just an inch or 2 taller then komatchi. because they look close in height but eiki is scaled taller. my assumption is komathci looks normal but is tall, while eiki is skinny and tall.

Actually Eiki is a very tall girl. Taller than Komachi in the PoVF Reimu ending. So this voice will be perfect in my opinion. But because Lyrica choose this illustration it's probably feels weird for some peoples.

at first, i didn't like shiki. i thought she was too harsh. but looking at her now, she really is one of the nicest characters in touhou. she'll lecture people when they've done something wrong, but also help them correct themselves and get their lives on track. i think we all need someone like shiki in our lives.

Edit- first, the original I actually think was Burn not Wilt. Since Lyrica decided to drop by and explain the change in line this was probably alluding to what would befall the sinful soul at the end if they didn't change course.
Second, it has been a day and I am still shocked and honored, but mostly shocked, that you are even back here still even after releasing a new dub more recently. and for some random guy who remembers something he saw back in like, 2016 or whenever.
Whoa, we've got a real insider here...! You're right~ Lyrics get tweaked a lot before the final draft, even up to the last minute.
In this case, while "red" offers an obvious image of danger/deadliness/sinfulness, "violet" ultimately felt like a much more meaningful color to emphasize as symbolic of sin. The iconic flowers associated with the incident in PoFV are specifically "violet cherry blossoms"... and I also wanted the color violet to evoke Yukari, whose name literally means "violet."
Eiki and Yukari are known not to get along very well, which is to be expected between someone who distinctly judges things by a binary versus someone who manipulates and blurs borders. Yukari's lyrics actually included a line that was somewhat meant as a callout to Eiki: *"Just a trick of light paints the world in black and white. What keeps it all from blending into gray?"* -- so I thought Eiki should have something that sounded like a line of warning back at her: *"Tinged in its deep violet stain... When color fades, black or white shall remain."*
Most of my constant tweaking is minor and picky and unimportant, but I think this one was particularly worth it!
