MANCHESTER HALF MARATHON 2023 RACE RECAP - EDDBUD - RUNNING SHOE SELECTION and PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS
I travelled north to the MANCHESTER HALF MARATHON 2023.
Find out how i got on, the shoes i wore and my thoughts on the race route.
I analyse my performance and give you some race footage to set the scene. How did the PUMA DEVIATE NITRO ELITE 2 get on navigating me across the route?
Cold conditions on the race today though very little wind to contend with.
I got to meet loads of viewers which was one of the best parts of the day.
Hold tight people, stay strong and we WILL make it through.
Keep it nice in the comments please, i do not do unpleasant, its just ..... unpleasant. See you in the digital ones and zeros......

The failure to regulate starting blocks is becoming a scourge of many events. It's at times dangerous (looking at you, Vienna Night Run) and it's always disrespectful, especially considering the cost of these events to runners. The best regulation of start blocks I experienced was at the Lisbon marathon, where security staff quickly checked everyone's info.
Or even Valencia 10k from January this year - that looked terrifying!
Ran a fast 10k at the local Octoberfest celebration here in Tempe AZ USA! Took 12th overall and 2nd in my class! Ran in the Pro 3 "without" the insoles 😂
Fantastic running! You appear to have a “beast” in your picture. Very close to my cat here.
@EDDBUD My 1/2 marathon pace is 1:53 PB time...my 10k pace is your 1/2 marathon pace! in the 55 and older geezer club! As long as im "injury free" can usually place ok
You did a great job on your 1/2 marathon!
@EDDBUD Yes! I used to run thru the railyard. I rescued the little fellow
Although l live in Manchester, l ran the Palma marathon on Sunday. I’ve been running at Palma every October for the last 14 years, this was the first time that the Palma races had rain. It was torrential plus the roads were flooded! My marathon was delayed by a hour due to the conditions. Although that didn’t help me as the weather worsened for the last 13 miles or so!
Whereas Manchester had the usual Palma blue skies, but without the heat!
Dry as a bone out there on Sunday
did my first ever running event on Sunday at the MCRHALF.. Chip time said 1.40.51. Strava said 1.39.46, over the moon considering was hoping for just under 1.45.00.. amazing event and crowd.. have to agree about the zig-zagging on the 1st mile .. but i'd assume is like that on every event. amazing effort on your side and the best of luck in future races
Great effort
Did the 10 mile Great South Run on Sunday in Portsmouth Fantastic race in perfect conditions. 1:16:39 not bad at age 62 and only a minute slower than the last time I ran it which was 6 years ago!
Congrats on your race Ed fantastic time 👏👏
I ove Portsmouth
That’s an awesome time. I hope one day to be that quick!
Great time, Ian. 👍 I'm five years younger than you are and my target time for a 10k next month is only a whisker under your time for 10 miles. 😳 Chapeau, sir.... 👍
@@leebrown3645 thank you Lee. Been running a long time. My marathon times have crept over 4hours these days but can still pull a 1:42 half. I put it down to a strict running regime of routine and rest! Good luck with your 10K 👍
Paced a friend for his first half marathon in Columbus Ohio on Sunday. His goal was 1:45 and we finished at 1:42.
It was cool but comfortable weather for running. Perfect.
First time I ran a flat course personally, I need to do that more often 😂
Round my way it’s all hills but also windy.
My first half marathon I've competed, really got myself into running this year... and I committed fully!! My chip time was 2:18:54 which I am happy with, project 2 hour is in the pipeline!
hope to see you at the next Manchester event!!😁😁
Great job Edd! I ran my first full marathon Sunday in Grand Rapids Mi 🥳 Official time 4:03:49
Great job! 👍🏼👊
Late to the recap, glad to see you got through unscathed Ed. Have to agree though, every race I've done in the last year has had the corral issue with folks getting up way farther than they should be. Not to pace shame at all, but it strikes me as quite selfish to get up at the front and be blocking everyone like that. Absolutely my biggest pet peeve with racing
Seems like people are not applying reason when getting into starting waves.
Consistency is everything, my friend. And you’ve achieved consistency through dint of hard work and your relentless enthusiasm! Congratulations from Colorado.
Thanks man! Had some rest this week but I find early morning running is helping so much with that
Also ran Manchester on Sunday and got a very respectable PB. I opted for gloves 😂 thankfully.
Am I the only person who thought the Puma tunnel was the finish line haha. I sped up for an epic finish only to crushingly realise I now had to find another 100m!
I think a few thought it was the end only to realise there was a little more!
Nice going Edd! Good run. 👍
Thanks 👍
Had the same problem. Got caught up at the back of red wave A whereas i wanted to be near the 1.30 pacer. Had to dodge and weave for 2 miles, ran on the pavement heading up towards Deansgate just to get past people. Then spent miles 3 and 4 trying to make up ground which hit me later in the race. Managed to come in in 1hr 32.30 in the end.
You must have been right in around me somewhere!
Frost on race day with no wind (or potential for rain later) is a PERFECT race day! After finishing my last marathon last weekend in a post tropical storm and 17C at race start with wind/rain nearly the entire race...it was NOT ideal. ;)
Thanks for the entertaining race recap!
Back to 17c here in the south. Nuts weather.
Well done Ed. Glad you enjoyed our City and I told you, it doesn’t always rain 😊
Loved being over there
I ran the Manchester half on Sunday for MND Association did it in 1hr 57 a pb beating my previous time of 2hr 14 🎉 I agree with you felt same like was side stepping rnd people for a good few miles but loved the race, well done on your time 👍
Great running 👍🏼👊
I was in Red Wave A on Sunday and had the exact same experience as you from the start line until the point where the course headed under the motorway before arriving in Sale. I was weaving left and right trying to avoid people. It was chaos at times and was definitely frustrating! Anyway, congrats on the time! I managed to snag a new PB by sneaking under 1:25!
I used up a good 30 seconds dodging people early on
Hey Edd I had a feeling I saw you in the race village (That’s me at 2 mins walking past orange top w/ the mrs). Was going to come up to say hi but didn’t wanna make it awkward just in case it wasn’t you😂. This was my second half marathon and managed to get under 2 hours which is a PB for me in the half. Super happy with it considering I started running in April. Hope you enjoyed it as much as we did! :)
Great running! Always say hi. I am happy to meet viewers always
Nice one Edd, really like the Deviate Nitro Elite 2, half marathon would probably be my max distance in them, need a little more cush beyond that. Love the magnify nitro 2s for the long slow days, so much comfort.
Well done Eduardo! 808 State wer phenomenal!! The memories 😊😊
Sounds just as fresh now as it did then
Well done Edd!!!Congratulations! You are so right to simplify your nutrition input. We can get too hung up on it. PS...it would be nice if people would honestly seed themselves at the starting line.
Yes I could have been at the very front of the wave and still have issues
I feel like the millennium falcon love it great effort Ed
Nice result, can be v frustrating trying to get through crowds in races, esp if you're aiming for a time. There's always a few go right to the front when they have no business being there and just get in everyone's way as they get overtaken. Did a marathon in June and took a few miles to get clear space to get to my target pace
Going again in 2 weeks in Dublin, adios pro 2s will be the shoes of choice, must get them out a couple of times beforehand
Hope you enjoyed Manchester Edd - It's my home half marathon and I also ran on Sunday.
I think the starting blocks issue is the fault of the runners as much as the organisers. Some people in my starting block were wearing a different coloured bib and sneaked in to run with a friend - others who had signed up for their first HM also seemed to maybe have overestimated their pace for the day....
Big fan of Puma at the moment also - hope to see you at the Marathon in April!
It was a top race and loved being in the city. Felt some connection there which is absent in London. Has some character and real energy
Great time! Congrats! First time I notice those Pumas being a different color per foot 😁. Unrelated: you really need to complete that wall behind you with some more bibs, pretty sure you have more than enough to do so 😁💪🏻
I have some newer ones though waiting for a moment to pain and decorate in the new room. 👍🏼
Great time - congrats! I ran Oxford on Sunday in the Deviate Nitro Elite 2, and got a 4 minute PB at 1:36:37. Didn’t experience too much congestion considering almost 10,000 runners - there were obviously still some muppets starting way nearer the front than they ever should’ve done, but they seemed to be a small minority at Oxford. Hopefully Manchester will learn from their mistakes as it sounds like a great event otherwise.
Everyone wanted to start at 9am by the looks!
Hey edd great running it was a great day. I managed to knock 11 mins of my pb and get my first sub 90 so I was made up at the end. Keep up the good work!!
Nice work!
To only be 24 seconds away from your PB is excellent running! I've only had that crowd issue once before on my very first half. A friend had entered before me and wasn't quite ambitious enough with the estimated time, I put the same time and we came in 10 minutes faster for him and 15 minutes faster for me. Glad you had a great weekend and I hope Beast enjoyed the Bob Martin's! 😄 🎉🎊🏃🏻♂️🏅
It was a top weekend. Legs feeling good and may see if there’s a “second time around” race I can get into.
Maybe the Clacton half marathon? 👵🏻
@@Stevenc1984 Freckleton is also a good half our way , its not the fastest (in fact mile 10 and 11 will kick your arse with the slow incline) but it is the oldest in the country and fairly flat and the locals come out in force for it.
Awesome time! Congratulations again! 🙏✨
Many thanks!
That happened to me at my half marathon. I was targeting 1hr 30 min. Got stuck behind 2hr 30min. Spent first mile sprinting past everyone . Never again!
Gutted I didn't manage to see you on Sunday. I highly recommend the Manchester Marathon if you're up for another trip back up North. I'll be there again for my sins.
It was a super time. Wish I had longer to spend there.
Great to meet you on Sunday, Edd. Despite the traffic jams and just missing out on the sub-90, I still had a cracking time.
Maybe I'll bump into you on a race course chasing sub-90 again one day!
(oh, and you took a far more flattering selfie than I did! 😂)
Hello sir! Total legend. I appreciate the help on the trams and on the course. Hope to see you again if I travel up 👍🏼👊
Huge discount on this shoe on the Puma website at the moment, a real bargain there, well done on the half by the way
Yes some awesome deals on these right now
Good race Edd..the cold starts are not my favorite part of any race..unfortunately having lots of people who way over estimate how awesome they are can dampen the 1st mile of any race..at the 1/2 distance at least you have time for them to blow up and get out of the way..in a 5k they are a hazard rather than just a nuisance..good to see you paced it well and still had a kick at the end..says your fitness is good..the joy of being able to forget your shoe thru out the race is priceless..congrats on a job well done 🎉😊
You past me in Sale thought your trainers were well cool, glad you enjoyed Manchester, last year they changed the route at the last moment!
Great running and I will be back!
Well done Ed! 🎉
Keep posting man ! love em
Thanks! Will do!
Did a 5k on Sunday, finished with a beer. You people inspire me with your marathons.
Well done Edd! Love your channel :)
Glad you enjoy it!
Well done buddy! Solid effort there, lovely pacing too!
Thanks buddy!
My first ever half on Sunday at Manchester, 1:57.13. Was made up and loved it. So much I’ve booked for the the full in April 😱. And yes it was freezing 🥶. Glad you enjoyed it 😊
Was a top race and loved the course.
Great effort and time, I was in Red wave A, ran 1:41 (last 3 miles zapped my legs) but 7 minutes faster than last year!
Excellent effort 👊
We’ll done edd . Great time
Shudda just grabbed the bull by the horns and donned the FAST-R! was looking forward to the review :)
I have plans for that one. Though I have my eyes on another race right now
Great job Ed
Edd, that was awesome, working thru so many runners takes so much out of you trying to navigate your way to the finish. I would not be surprised if you actually ran more than 13.2 miles in reality! If you started in that 1:30 que, you'd be sub 1:28 for sure!👍
My local race - Great Eastern half in Peterborough. No drama this year. In 2022 an ambulance trashed the timing mats before the race was due to start. 2019 the race was abandoned due to a suspect bag.
Oh my. That’s one issue that can’t be quickly fixed!
Took your advice and ‘ran strong’ for a 5 minute pb of 1:42:43 🎉. Agree it was v cold. I think some of the mixed starts were caused by a power failure on the tram network, we lost our hour buffer time 😢 so had to start with a much slower wave. Course was good and crowds fab though.
The trams are cool. Wish we had them here!
Great run, there! I ran my first competitive road HM this weekend, Great Eastern Run in Peterborough. 1.37, powered by the Endo Pro 3s. Not bad considering this was "for fun" as I'm actually an endurance trail runner :)
Hope you enjoyed it Sean
@@EDDBUD Well, put it this way ... I'm longing to get back out into the hills now!! 🤣
Same issue at the Oxford half this weekend, delays at park and ride causing me to be late to my pen, wanted to be with the 1:45 crowd but had to start with 2:15, lots of dodging round people not helped by quite narrow route in places, had a good time though and got a PB.
Great job!
Congrats on your Race!
Thanks!
Ran the Bath Half at the weekend and bagged a PB so really pleased. Was also very cold at the start so I’d bought a hoody from a charity shop for £4 which I discarded in the start pen to be collected up and recycled again so may be worth a shot for future races. Well done on your result though!
Had a top on before hand to discard but was still frozen from the walk/jog over!
Not a bad idea, this way you give a little charity at the same time.
I noticed a few people being pulled out from the wrong wave and thought "great!" but it was clear from the start hold and then the first couple of kilometres that loads got through. There needed to be a line of Marshalls 100m from the start. Or don't activate people's timing chips until the right start time. Or do what a race in Yorkshire did last week and let the slower runners set off after the club runners so they're not worried about failing a cut-off time.
Yeah I saw white bib runners come through after me. Bonkers
Think we need to get you down to Victoria Park in London for one of the low-key half’s and set up an Ed Budd pace group.
You’ve very clearly got a sub 90 in ya.
I’m getting there. The head says. Legs tired today.
Well done pal, Red A was much the same at the start but spread out just after the city centre section although you were still passing people all the way, wave A was 1:15-1:30-1:45 pacer so quite a spread 1:34.06 PB for me
Great stuff and some top running
Ran mcr with my daughter paced her round to a 1.31 time.
You need to do the Wilmslow half marathon in march, very fast route edd you will love it.
Sounds good will check it out!
Hi Ed ... Sorry I couldnt say Hi, the start line was crazy busy!
Trams were down to due to an electrical fault - so me and my other fellow Pacer had to run nearly 5 miles to get to the start!
You're correct about the start, it was a nightmare for most of the pacers - we had to zig zag for the first 5 km and lost alot of time - Thankfully I did cross the finishing line at the allocated time.
I did see you zipping along Deansgate - Well done on your time!
Thanks my friend. I saw there was some tram issues. Well done on getting to the start in time.
Hate having to weave! Got my half PR (1:29:08) at Lake Dorney if you’re looking for a fast run with no congestion.
Thanks for the heads up on that one
A good honest effort Edd well done. 💪
808 State - Pacific State is an absolute banger! 👍
A wonderful track. Still sounds fresh even now
Top effort Edd! Second best pb without checking your watch in the second half of the race, is darned good., 👍
Did enjoy it and found rhythm in the 2nd half
Did not race this weekend, but I did race the Chicago Marathon the weekend before. Similar deal, I was in the second corral (though still in the first wave) and really hoping for a first corral kind of time; my goal was 2:50. So I was passing people steady for 26.2 miles, including the 3:00 pacers, who had a group as wide as the road. Worked out for me though as I executed my race plan and came in with a 2:49 and a 5 minute PB.
That’s some great running!
Really good time considering the "traffic", Ed. It looks like you're ready to break 90. You just need to find the right race. Next time a smaller HM or one with better waves or wider roads. I usually put myself in front of my own wave with the pacers. That sub 90 membership card is still there catching dust. ;-)
I’m not far away. Was happy with the consistent effort though
Did the bath half marathon in adidas pro 3's knocked 4mins off my last half marathon time.
There was a bit of a back log from the startline there where it took a while to get round people
Great job on the course best.
Manchester was my first official half marathon, finished with a PR of 1:47 💪🏻 The waves baffled me to be honest, I was only aiming to hit under two hours and they put me in the same wave as you? Still a good day though, even after nearly getting hyperthermia at the start line 😂
It was bizarre wasn’t it? I was saved from mega cold by discarding my thermal top just before the start. That really saved me.
I ran in Red Wave A with an aim of a sub 90. Ran it in 1:32:45. A bit of a weaving at the start but it seemed to settle down after the 1st mile. I think a probably should have had another gel at around mile 9 as my pace dropped a bit for the last 3 miles. But like you it was my second fastest half marathon. Have already signed up for next year. So hopefully next year I’ll break that sub 90 either at Edinburgh in May or Manchester in October 🤞
Some top running right there. Just need to keep the fitness up for another sub 90 bash.
Great race and break down boss. You seemed real strong in cold conditions.
Did enjoy the race once I found some rhythm
i like how you said a certain shoe was calling to you. that's exactly right. that's why i believe in having plenty of choice. my justification for having so many pairs of shoes 😁
Some just feel right on the day.
Congrats on your race!
I finished my first marathon in 3:19 on Sunday. Overall a great experience. Just that I stumble and fell just 9K in. Thankfully just a little cut on the knee, nothing serious.
Great time for your first one. Great time all together, to be fair!
Great effort
@@EDDBUD Thank you. I was aiming for 3:20, ended up with 3:19:55, 5s faster than expected thanks to my kicks of the final 300 meters.
@@JackD87 Thank you. Set out to do 3:20, end up doing 3:10:55, just 5s faster. But now I get to tell everyone I did it in 319, not 320😁
Only race I have done with a wave start, was the London 10k, was a nightmare trying to overtake for virtually the whole race, When I had finished and went to the baggage area to pick up my stuff I found that they had just dumped all the bags in one great heap ! Took me ages to suss where my bag was, I would never do that event again. Well done Edd, great stuff !
This is the Asics one? Not good to hear on the bag drop.
It was in 2014, British 10K London Run with New Balance and the London Evening Standard, Edd. @@EDDBUD
1:32:12 That's dead good!👊
Thanks!
Congrats Ed, this is an awesome time and you definitely have another PB in you good sir. I have a few questions for you if ya got time.
How many days out did you begin your taper for this? I have my first half marathon in November is why I ask.
Did the pumas come in this off-set color way or did you buy two pairs and wear one color from each?
How did you get the insole out of the Endo pro 3? Mine feel like they are glued or stitched into the midsole lol. Did you just rip them out?
I didn’t taper too much. Reduced mileage 7 days ish before. But still similar intensity.
Good job Ed!
Great report , I have a lot more padding then you (and I had to bookend the race with three miles easy both sides) so the temp was easier for me , however even in Red wave A we had a lot of traffic until the first couple of miles we got back around from Deansgate (that was the turnback you mentioned) so those after a time had to push a little once we got back up at bt the start. Good Job Edd and thanks for comming up to the Northwest , we have some cracking races up this way . I have to 808 state there was a runner with a double pram and two toddlers who came in around the same time as us (had to shake his hand) .. running forever keeps me humble
Some top level runners out there for sure. Really enjoyed the race and the city
I saw you on the other side of the road, shouted but you mustn’t have heard. I did 1:19 but had trouble with the Rocket X2 cutting circulation to my feet, had to stop to loosen the laces and lost over a minute. Next time it will be back to the trusty Vaporfly.
Super time! Great running
Excellent running, Edd I'm glad you enjoyed manchester half marathon and Manchester itself I live in Manchester. I know what you mean with the traffic off people it was like that for me on the first 1 mile or 2 I got a PB of 1:29:27 I'm well over the moon with that I ran in my Vapour flys and in my club vest I run for Stockport Harriers well done again 😁😁👍👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏🙌🙌🏃🏃
Great run!
Thank you Edd 😁👍
Excellent, well done. I’m not liking the transition to the cold weather. Done the marathon twice in Manchester but never the half. Although I have done the Great Run series in the city, 10k & half twice.
Thanks for tuning in
Sorry I missed you had a walk around the village in the morning to see if I could spot you. Managed to knock 10mins of last years event to finish in 1:35 (in vaporfly 3)
Excellent effort!
Congratulations Mr Budd on your very fast time.
I was running my very first marathon at York.
How did you get on Alan?
@@EDDBUD Well, iam nearly 61, hoped for sub 5hr,but faded at 18 mile, got 5.26,3,.Am happy there were more behind me ,than ahead.
Living in Manchester l know that many slower runners, joggers and even walkers infiltrate the early waves. I’ve had to zigzag past hundreds in the past!
Now if l run locally l move up to a wave just behind the elites. Although l then go off too l don’t have people blocking me and l can gradually slow down to my usual race pace when l’m clear of slower and ( don’t want to hold anyone up) faster runners.
London marathon is terrible for sending slower runners off in front of much faster runners.
I’ve been in the GFA wave 1, yet been held up at the point where Greenwich and Blackheath groups join, about mile 4. It’s been crazy when the road is completely blocked by large groups jogging or even walking, mostly with headphones and they are oblivious to the club runners sprinting up behind them and ignoring or not hearing shouts to keep left etc. Then they get annoyed when they are elbowed out of the way by large groups of racers trying to get past! Crazy!!!
I did shout to a few people and they blocked me in for some time without any way of getting through.
I had the same problem, I missed my wave because of the queue for the toilets. I lost a lot time because of lateral movement. I gave it my all but it left me with a bitter taste in my mouth as I feel like I lost a couple of minutes having to squeeze through gaps, change pace and go on the outside…. And also the longer course, mine came in at 21.8k I think maybe because of the wide turns I had to take.
Yeah lots of left and right strafing on this one
Top work mate despite the awkward start. Bring on YHM?
Yes will do that one. Maybe a trip to Battersea?
we're at Battersea this Sunday, you there mate?@@EDDBUD
Great work! Very frustrating weaving past slower runners especially when it’s after a mile or two when normally you’re running goal pace and you’re still passing runners significantly slower.
Definitely sounds it’s a organisational issue. Could also be just too many runners for the narrow streets and need to be staggered start times.
I’ve run Valencia HM and there’s about twice as many finishers and finished in 1:35 without too much weaving after the first couple of kilometres.
Berlin was a nightmare. 26 miles of dodging people. Also, people walking on the blue line. It was shocking!
That’s a long way to go for such problems.
It was freezing 🥶 but managed a PB 1:18.14 pacers were in the wrong places too.
Super time! Hope you warmed up quick.
I have both the Nitro 2 and the original and I hate to say this but the Nitro 2 fits narrower and is slightly longer (half size at least), the laces also cause a little grief. End result they hurt. Which is too bad because the Nitro 2 are definitely a better shoe at the speed I wish I could maintain for more than 1k......congrats on your run.
Sad to hear that. Seem to fit me like a glove.
In a past life I was a shoe salesman, so I did what all shoe salesmen do, I fixed them with a broom handle...:0)
Nice!
🥉
Sounds like you’re in shape for it. Why don’t you regroup and come and do the Battersea Park Half in five weeks? 8 laps of Battersea might make for more weaving around people but I’m aiming for 1:30 too… I’ll start pushing people out the way for us if you’re keen 😂😂
I had some plans for that one. Seemed ideal and easier for me to get to
@@EDDBUD do it!! Keep things ticking over for five weeks and LFG 🔥🔥
Wilmslow waters running festival 24th march 2024
Well done mate! Why is there so little difference in your threshold/half marathon paces and easy paces? Less than 45-50 seconds. I'm aiming for a sub 1-26 half in November and my prescribed easy paces are between 5:19 and 5:45 per km. Half pace is 4:05.
Not really that smaller difference. 5k pace to marathon there’s a fair range
Good morning, Edd.
Morning!
Agree, had the same issue at last year's Manchester Marathon (amongst other events) - certain people clearly further up the field at the start than they should be. Ignorance that doesn't benefit themselves or anyone attempting to get past them.
I could have gotten nearer the start of the wave but it was mainly the previous wave I was running through!
@@EDDBUD - Hi Edd, yes that's another factor, where you are in the wave can also make a big difference 👍
Congratulations Ed, your obviously faster than your time, I would think it’s a runner problem causing congestion, predicted times need to verified and strictly policed at the start ,like the Boston marathon in the US. London Marathon is also bad, as an England Vet55 master myself, it’s frustrating to see other master (GFA)runners at the front of London starting off at 10 min/mile+, start position should be on times not if your a master or celebrity 👍
Was there many charity runners at the event Edd? If not, people need to do something about that.. thousands of fundraisers at Cardiff Half!
Think there were lots though it’s all a blur
Much the same in Amsterdam I’m afraid - I was in wave 3 (for runners aiming at 1:40 - 1:50) but wave 2 comprised a complete mix of TCS employees, guests and Champion Sports members - my target time was 1:43 but I lost time and considerable energy in the first 5km trying to negotiate my way past wave 2 runners, some of whom were walking already. By 10km I had given up trying to hit my target having essentially done a fartlek session the whole way - ended up more than a little bit frustrated with 1:45:15 - an expensive trip ruined by the inexplicable organisation (I guess their employees and guests were far more important than us mere entry fee paying mortals!)
That’s sad to hear. It does stop you from getting into a rhythm.
That sounds horrible. I’m sorry you experienced that.
Well done Edd. Pity you got caught up in crowds, but good effort
🥈
Well done Edd 👍
What I get annoyed about on these types of runs are those who when the gun goes off start walking. Its suppose to be a run not a walk. I did the Vitality 10K last month, what a fiasco but we won't get into that but you had large numbers of personages whooping and hollowing un-route who were walking FFS. Sorry, I just don't get it! It's a 10K run which means you should be running it, not walking it. I spent the whole run weaving in and out and squeezing past people at least 1/2, if not 3/4 of the field. I was really glad to get to the finish unscathed...
Yeah especially on a 10k!
So which shoe was faster, the red one or the blue one?
Red faster. I think
No Runners Weekend Manchester like Kofuzi, Ed?
They do that well. I do my style 🥇
you used DN2 or something else?
It’s the deviate nitro elite 2.
