My Wife Is Going To Kill Me... I Bought All Original 1979 Ford Ghia Foxbody Mustang Notchback

- I sure wasn't expecting this to happen. My buddy/parts guy at Napa told me about this car being listed for sale locally to me. I had a Quick Look at it online and decided to take a drive and look it over. Well long story short, snap decisions have been made and I bought this super mint 1979 Ford Ghia Fox body Mustang Notchback survivor 3.3L inline 6 cal automatic with only 40'000 miles. In this video, my wife brings me down to get the car and gets to see it for the very first time.

I had a 79 as well, dark brown with black and grey houndstooth interior, with a straight 6....torque monster!. It was my winter beater for years. Sold it to my army buddy in N.B and he drove it for years as well. Solid car loved it, miss it. Boy that cluster takes me back. Enjoy

Hey Gary, Cool Find!!! Yeah She's all original. I remember when these were introduced I was just starting High School. (Yeah I am that old) As A Kid i was really disappointed with the Mustang II. I remember going to Maclin Ford in Calgary and seeing the 79 Indy Pace car replicas when they came out. My dad bought an 82 Capri T-Top. a few years later. He says now he wished he had kept it.

Enjoy it, but its not my cup of tea. Missing two cylinders and its yellow. There's something like that on the corner from where I live. Its a 79 or 80, believe it s a Mercury Capri, I'll have to take a better look the next time I drive by. Its brown. Its been sitting around for a couple years along with a 73-74 Mustang.

@@KASLCustoms Probably more so if its a convertible. I was wrong, it is a Mustang not a Capri, brown, vert. He does have a Capri, think mid 80s, along with the 73-74 Mustang. They're parked in front of some auto business, they haven't really moved from their spots for the past couple years.

Was that the original paint? I did not think that they painted the mirrors and door window frames body color. Plus the blue interior, I thought that blue only came with white or blue body color. Cool find though, kind of envious though. my first car was a 79 4 banger and got rid of it in 93 when I bought my first brand new Ranger! I still miss that car till this day!
It has been in a couple minor benders so it’s by no means all original paint. And I’ve come to find that the interior is actually black but it’s just faded to blue

Does it have the 200 ci inline 7 main bearing 6 ? A Friend of mines girlfriend had an early silver Capri with the inline 6 under the hood. Sweet and gotta save that one.

Believe it or not but there are turbo kits out there for these. Ak Miller built a few of em. Had a kit on a 250 big block 😄 inline 6. Car was friggin quick.

To be in Canada and not rusted out is a dream come true for the body, interesting to see what your wife does with it (ha-ha), down here in North Carolina back in early 2020 I found a 1984 LX Droptop 5.0 throttle body with auto, everything is still there and runs, it is triple white with light blue dash pad and two-color door panels - white on top / blue on the bottom all power windows, like buying old Harleys parts are worth a lot to be the real stuff, like you have single exhaust, mine has two pipes for 5.0 in that same spot.

Trying to remain supportive while thinking what is he buying! And to run out of gas 20 feet into the drive home!😂😂 Gary they may never understand our love for these cars. I love the first few years of the fox mustangs. The front end styling looks like it was done with a framing square. The scuff on the passenger door will just buff right out. 😅 Yeah it will. Great vid.

@@KASLCustoms I had a 1986 LX 2.3 4-cylinder that had 587,000+ kms on it when its life was over! I still have the odometer as proof as I removed the instrument cluster from the car to keep!
