Hi Chris and thx for taking the time to film and produce this. I know how much work it must be. Great amount of info and super convenient you have that so many examples handy to measure. To complement your fender height measurement chart, it would be awesome to add the actual tire height for each car (both front and rear of course). The differences between various wheel tire combo diameters divided by 2 would show the effect they're having on the actual fender height. Then the comparison between each chassis actual suspension height would be relative. Couple of other things: tucking the tires and wheels inside the fenders will add clearance, but at the expense of turning in the front, and overall width potential on the rear. This also effectively narrows the track, something not necessarily desirable. The Stalker vert clearly has the wheels tucked in compared to Strawberry. In road racing circles, it is common to run -2.5* to -3* camber in order to pull the top of the tire into the wheelwell and to also push out the front bottom of the fenders by 2 or 3 " for turning clearance. Out back, rolling the lips and straightening the inner fenders are the only real options, besides flipping or losing the quad shocks. Overall practical tire height limits for a lowered Fox seem to be 25" in front and 25.5-26" out back, depending on width and wheel offset as well of course. Those numbers are achievable with 15, 16, 17, 18 and even some 19" combos pretty readily. Lastly, aggressive lowering will change the effective driveshaft angle and can create issues with pinion angle being way off, as well as the driveshaft actually rubbing the tunnel/floor. The latter is more likely with a larger dia shaft, like the ubiquitous FMS alum shafts. Lastly, high rate original location front springs, (like FMS-5300-C or the 1000+ lb DECH units) have a component of their load being transferred into the front control arm bushings, increasing ride harshness and instigating bushing bind, especially rubber. This is one of the primary advantages of going to front coilovers, as those issues are eliminated 100%. Wheel rate vs spring rate depends on spring location, that is why the coil over springs can be so much lighter, yet have more load capacity. Of course, damper capability needs to match the spring rates. That is also a common issue with stiffer, lower springs used with shocks incapable of controlling the suspension motion. Hope this is helpful and taken in a positive spirit, not as criticism. Thx again for the vids, I will check out the others as well. Paul Tu Lowd

89 LX Sport, current springs are original, wheels are 4 lug Cobra R replica 17" x 9" with Nitto 555's 245/45-17 tires. Front 27.125 & Rear 27.25. I plan to install Ford Motorsport M-5300-C springs and will go to 40 aspect on the next set of tires due to a minor full lock rub @ lower front fenders. I've collected a lot of parts over the years to do my build and finally have the time to do it.

Hey Chris. Good video and comparison. My 1985 Dech tribute has Nittos front and rear. They are 225/45R17. I believe one of the previous owners cut the springs to lower the car. Front and rear wheel wells are 24.5". The bottom of the car has only 3" of ground clearance. The ride is quite "rigid". Keep up the great videos!!

Pretty much the difference in height of what you cut off of the spring will result in drop on the car! Once you cut the first coil off things drop pretty quick.

Hey Chris my '91 foxbody gt is sitting on lowering springs but the rear of the car still sits high in the back. I measured the front with lowering springs and its measuring 24 3/4" which is perfect but the rear is sitting at 26" with lowering springs. How much of the rear lowering springs should i cut to even it out with the front so all 4 corners are 24 3/4"? Your help would greatly be appreciated. Inhave sr performance springs and have 245/40/17 front and rear is 275/40/17. 17×9 wheels front and rear is 17×10
