Yeah, I agree, it's more of an intro than a full song. I do play it still. But that's because I usually play the whole album from the start, and this is the first track. I doubt I'd play just this track on its own.
Thank you for sharing your opinion, I love when Albums work that way, as a whole experience, but I feel like in modern music it isn't such a thing anymore, especially since the 'rise' of playlists. :)
This album is like an old concept album by Pink Floyd, you might take the time to listen to it from the first song all thru to the last one. After about 50 times now it grew on me up to the 5 best albums I own - and I am 64 now and have about 8000 records. The last song -Lanternlight- is my personal song of the year 2024 by far. It is very, VERY different but exactly that is the reason. For me Nightwish has evolved to those rare bands, that create art without any consideration to what anybody expected or to say it the short way: Nightwish does Nightwish things. Greetings from Germany
I love having special version of music and books, or even video games. :) I would love to have a Vinyl version, but at the moment that's not really possible unfortunately. I'm very happy for you and that you enjoy it so much. :D
@kaNjiXIII Thank you very much. I understand what you mean. I would love to have the vinyls too, I know that they were/are available in different colours and very beautiful, but I went for the earbook with cds instead. For the moment I don't have a record player and the vinyls are quite expensive, so I had to make a choice 🤣 beyond all Nightwish albums I have lot's of t-shirts and hoodies ( I need a bigger walk in closet...help 🤣🤣) and other treasures like photographs and one of Emppus picks. Every item has it own history and meaning for me as a person.
I will do so as well, as soon as I finished making all the videos, would be cool to do it all in one day, but my time at the moment doesn't allow me to that. I'm still looking forward to it. :)
So this intro end with the line, a island with a shipless crew, one of the first lines in A ocean of strange islands, is a island with a crewless ship, just a fun fact to get. Well i think this album is a grand journey, and you should really listen to it from start to finish a few times. Its also album that grows surely, and its not just the songs with videos you already watched, that are great, the whole album is, every song is.. The album do leave me with the feeling Tuomas did something great again.. well he is a mastermind.. Of cause the whole band should get the thumbs up surely..
Yes, I had a feeling like that as well, that it sounded familiar haha. :) I think as I continue this journey through this album, I'll try to listen to the songs again, before I start recording and then listen to the Album for myself in a whole sitting when I can take the time to do that. It's not something you are listening for the first time when you are on the train or something. I want to focus on it with my full attention.
There is also an instrumental version on this album! And the very first notes of the choir: Disney vibes! When listening to this song just after the release, it also reminded me of the first song on After Forevers's (Floor's first band) album "Prison of Desire": a classical sounding "Mea Culpa", followed by a beautiful transition to the next song "Leaden Legacy". Her voice has that magic already more than 20 years, check it out.

Yea I saw that, but need to finish listening to the 'regular' version of the Album first. haha I was so shocked when I learned that she was the singer of 'After Forever', I knew the band a bit, like 20 years ago, but never got further then 1-2 songs and the music was something entirely different, but she always has been a beast. :D Thanks for all the suggestions. :)
Hi and thank you for this reaction! Allthough choir-music is not your favourite choice, you can require it like an organ-pipes made of human voices. Tuomas has for a long time been cooperating in London Abbey road recordingstudios, and very professional orchestra and choir there. He uses cleverly this choir as human-instrument in many of his songs. Only complaint in this intro I have heard is, that it's too short 😂...waiting for more reactions..Kaisa from Finland
It’s a beautiful intro! Btw, the Antikythera Mechanism is a real, ancient object, and very interesting indeed. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antikythera_mechanism

Setting the stage with a beautiful musical soundscape.
This is only intro to the main content, which is spectacular if you listen the album in a row. It's the best album of the year 2024.
And what an intro that is. :) I hope I can manage to finish it while it's still 2024.
🤗🍒🤘🏻 well done

Looking forward to see your reactions. I have Yesterwynde album as both cd and earbook with orchestral versions and I love it. Greetings from Sweden

The choir, the acoustic space.
"See me, see me
So alike we are, you and us, soon
See me, see you
On an island of a shipless crew"
Enjoy the rest of the Album. It is a Masterpiece. Grettings from northern Germany
I will, I hope I can find a little bit of time soon. :) And I'll make sure to share it as well, helps me a lot personally to do so.
It is a nice intro of an album I prefer to listen from start to finish
I will do so as well, as soon as I finished making all the videos, would be cool to do it all in one day, but my time at the moment doesn't allow me to that.
I'm still looking forward to it. :)
Wonderful intro to the album
Really setting the tone perfectly.

And orchestral version
@@yerviniansamvel I think that apart from the version with singing there is only an orchestral version😔

Thank you for adding those. :)
This really sets the scene beautifully, looking forward to seeing your reactions 🤘
