I should've googled this YEARS ago. Thanks so much for solving a super annoying issue that created an extra layer of work (I was exporting to PDF and then having to delete the extra page from the PDF before uploading). Had no idea Page Layout was a thing!

Thank you so much - it really is greatly appreciated. I think this might be another case of the software writers not using the end result.

Nothing happens when I click X (delete) I'm using Page Layout in a book template. I added several extra pages for future chapters in the book and now want to delete them. Nothing is working. Also, I have (had) graphics in text boxes for each Chapter title heading which keep popping out of alignment onto other pages. I have to keep making more space (via the space bar) to put them back in order. I finally deleted all of them and will add them when the book is completed. This is so frustrating. Happens every time I write a book and waste time getting things in order again. Any suggestions? I'm using MAC Airbook

Every time I kept trying to insert page break the fresh page was inserted between my other two. I just did what you described and VOILA...it works. Thanks so much. I was getting so annoyed.
Sadly, this advice didn't match my situation. When go to the end of the doc and hit delete, it wipes out the entire contents of the previous page and the page we want to delete. When I convert to layout all page contents (save for headers and the cover page) disappears permanently and does not come back when reverting to a processing document. I'm going to try to wipe out that last page in PDF. Note to Mac developers; it should not take a 10-minute video to describe how to do something as elementary as deleting a page. I like this host and will probably follow him as a guide through Apple's walled garden.
I wonder what is going on with your document. Deleting just the last character of the body text shouldn't delete the entire previous page. Sounds like you have something unusual going on.
Follow up to deleting pages from the doc. I experimented in a new document. It worked. When I highlight one empty page in the PAGES book template (using word processing), for example, page 217, the pop-up asks "Are you sure you want to delete page 150---217? hmmm. I'll experiment with the test doc and see if I can reverse it, just in case.
What if they’re not at the end? (using ipad - no other option) I have to submit images for a patent, with specific formatting - of course pages adds a ruler only on the top, not the sides, so I have to cobble together a ruler from a stir stick at the coffee shop to gauge the sides. Now somehow I have image on page 1, blank page 2, image on page 3, blank page for. On an on for 24 images. It’s beyond me how these things can work so poorly on a $2000 device.
Gary, Is there a way to record keystokes in Pages or any other word processing program, so you can review the creative process in action after you finish a work of fiction?

hi Gary Your video was rather too detailed for my simple mind - the video that helped me one which showed dragging the mouse at the top of the blank page to select the page then hitting backspace.
Thank you! "Turn off Text Wrap" got rid of my second page. It was driving me crazy because when I clicked 'delete' on just page 2, my whole document would be deleted. I had started on Pages with a resume formatted document, and was using text boxes for the entire page. I was out of hope and ready to print the document then scan it back to my computer.
@@swarnimapanchola8519 I looked up on google, if you click on the Pages panel, scroll down to the bottom to the trash can, click on the page title and choose Restore.
Thanks anyways, but luckily I got my assignment back. I again opened my blank document, then above the screen there was an option „ File“ and i selected revert to option and all pictures of last 24 hours was there and i got it all…What a relief after that😄.

Perhaps your document is a Page Layout document, not a Word Processing one? What are you doing, exactly, to "delete?"

Normally it is not. It is when people lose track of a page element or don't understand what a Page Break is that you get into this situation.

What keyboard (country) do you have? The delete key is usually near the top right.
