I remember him the most from playing with the late Ronnie James Dio, I had heard that he passed away but didn't know what had happened to him. Once again, Great Reporting!!!
Jimmy sounded like an interesting and talented guy, as always my friend, a very respectful and tasteful tribute and bio, I’ll have to listen to his music. Thank you for another great video!
A little story about Mr Jimmy Bain. My band was playing a bar in Montreal in 1985 approx, and next to this bar was the Montreal Forum , and Dio ‘s band was playing that saturday . On friday , the day before ( keyboard player , Jimmy and Vivian Campbell were at the bar, drinking with some people that recognize them. When we were on stage we noticed lots of people at a table, and as we finished the set, we checked it out. To our surprise it was Jimmy Bain and Vivian Campbell with some people and groopies 😊. We asked them if they wanted to play some Dio songs with us on stage, but refused, they just wanted to chill with people. We still had a nice conversation , specially me with Vivian asking him some questions about what he have said on Eddie VH in a guitar player magazine. So as we get on stage for the second set, my bass player got to the microphone and shouted « we have some special people here tonite at the bar (mustache bar) would you like to hear mr Campbell and mr Bain play some Dio songs on stage tonite? Well the crowd went crazy , but I remember well Vivian looking at us and giving us a certain look, like saying c’mon guys….give us a break, but people insisted 😂. As the get on stage, Vivian took my friends guitar and played trough a marshall, and he tweeked my friends pedals and he nailed that VH tone like crazy (funny , I always said to my buddy guitarist his tone was muddy).Just as he was checking the sound, I noticed how his technique and his hands were amazing. I played guitar along Vivian, and was reall fun, this guy was even better than on the record. After the show, they gave us pass to meet them at the forum the next day to see them do the soundcheck. It’s too bad we did not have Iphones back in the days, but it really is in my memory for a long long time. Long live those 2 men, real cool and down to earth. ❤❤❤
Reading through the comments on your videos, something I notice is how people wonder what happened to someone but don’t really know where to look. You flesh out peoples lives with these wonderful videos and help complete the broader picture of musical history. So well done! I had a couple of suggestions…have you covered Steve Marriott (Small Faces), and I was thinking about Jon English, especially as he was also quite well known in Europe and was active in so many areas, from recording to stage and screen . You’re doing great work my friend!🤗
Thank you so much Deidre ☺️ I try to do tribute videos on a lot of artists that don't get much coverage. I know myself I used to want to know what happened to certain musicians and couldn't find anything on youtube about them which was disappointing. That's what led me to doing these vids. I really appreciate your suggestions as it gets a little difficult to think of who to do sometimes. I love Jon English also and still listen to his music often. Thanks again very much for being here and for your help ❤️
I feel honored youre spending your early morning here on my channel Jayne thank you 🤗💕 Hope you can catch a bit of shut eye later and always lovely to see you 💖
I saw Jimmy live with Ted Nugent in Seattle 1980 I never knew the importance of his name at the time. He's every bit right up at the top with Rudy Sarzo. Two of the best rock bassists that ever lived.

why was he credited on rainbow rising when allegedly ritchie blackmore played bass.
Not sure but just double checked and Jimmy was credited as definitely playing bass on that album 🙂
On the Rising album Jimmy is the bass player. Blackmore plays the bass on the Long Live R'N'r album in 4 songs.
