Great game for sure. Masterpiece... eh. There was a lot that could've been better. Story was good, but felt cut short. Also no side content really sucked. DLC's were alright but they were all the same.
I remember when I first played this game, I was like 12 years old and practically on the edge of my seat the whole time. And when I finished the last mission...hearing those words "Joe wasn't apart of our deal." Heart dropped. Now I'm 24 and wish I could feel the same way I once did when I play video games. Time fucking flies.

yeah it's makes a harder impact when you play them in order and get to know Tommy, a guy on this platform did the 2 games the other way around. if only the rat didn't lead you into taking that loan for the drug job that went south
Man, this game changed me. My life's story, post-graduation from college, post-2008 recession, and after losing my parents to terminal illness (cancer and parkinson's respectively). I kinda saw myself in Vito, the more and more I played the game. No, I wasn't involved in crime, let alone in a criminal organization/family.... but getting by without work and coping with the loss of close family, actually living alone.... truly alone.... it was tough. But when I played as Vito, over time, I think the toughness and grit that Vito showed, with each Chapter I beat, I guess it kinda rubbed off on me. My outlook on life and attitude evolved from being timid, gloomy, and depressed..... to something more, I don't know.... resolved and yet cool and relaxed at the same time. That's not to say I didn't have long bouts of anger and stress, which I did.... but the more I just did what I had to, grit my teeth, rolled up my sleeves, learned what I had to learn, and grew a backbone, the more I felt like I was able to take on the shit that life hurled my way. The same attitude carried on with me through the fucking Covid pandemic...... and it still does.

I found out about this game through my doctor. He gave me a bunch of games in a milk crate. I had the demo version though, where you only play for 12mins and just get to roam. Once i got the real game i dont think any game will top this one. Amazing game, cant wait for a remake
Absolutely loved this game. I still come back to re-watch it all from time to time. The storyline from start to finish was brilliant. Leo's return in the end was great and it really showed how things can go full circle. Had Henry not agreed to spare Leo, Vito would've died in the end. And had Vito not tried to save Leo from Henry's hit, Leo wouldn't have been alive have to help save Vito. It really did seem like a movie, and every decision had its consequences down the road which is what makes it so great. The ending with Joe however was as cliffhanger as it gets.
Yeah it has one of the best stories in gaming imho and it came out at a time when people didn't care so much about story focus in games so it was underrated when it released sadly

This game had many glitches and bad frame rates but I found it to be a very fun game with a good story. For a game made back in 2010 I found it funnier then what gta 5 was like back on the PS3. It’ll go down as one of my most favourite games
I had the demo of this on PS3, I was about 11-13 , i used yo play the demo over and over again. I wanted the game so bad for some reason never got around to buying it. I regret not… this was a great brilliant written & scripted game. Great Job!

I hate the way the AI pops out of cover and then for some reason they point their tommy guns to the complete opposite of your location and every bullet magically runs towards you. The way they flinch (sometimes) when they're shot just makes it so much harder to shoot them using a controller because their animations are so... unfinished from the original 2010 iteration that playing it in 2020 just feels bad... really bad the whole game could have been remastered better to fix bugs not just graphics

Don’t know if it’s canon but I read about their stories on the mafia wiki page. Apparently they reunite once at a bar years later. Vito’s over the top rich and has obtained most of Greenfield’s properties, living alone. And Joe dies at a misfortune accident somewhere, probably revelling...
Mafia one was good with the upgraded graphics and some little different dialogue. Mafia 2 seems like nothing to brag about. Just louder sound effects. The story/dialogue is pretty much the same and the graphics honestly are pretty much the same.
They just polished the game a bit. Brighter color's and darker shades and improved the face tones. I love this game and the first Mafia and the third even though it glitches like crazy I wish they would redo Mafia 3 from the ground up and offer it for free when we bring in the old one, add motorcycles to Mafia 3 and about an hour of playing in vietnam show a back story on Lincoln and Donovan. And add dlc for us to play as Vito and Burk and Cassandra. Maybe add some more playability after you beat the game, if you choose to leave you can pick up as Vito or Burk or Cassandra. If you stay let you run the city and have enemy's trying to move in. Just my thought
I remember playing this on OnLive at the library back in the day before I got my first console this, L.A. Noire, GTA IV and Killzone 3 made my childhood. I wish I was 12 again.

Honestly I much prefer this version over the redo they did for the lone scene in Mafia: Definitive Edition. In that one they reallllly screwed with Joe's face, to where the versions of him in this game and him in that game are barely recognizable.
It's to my shame that I didn't know about the game until it came free with Games with Gold on Xbox a few years ago, I downloaded on a whim but boy was I glad I did. The mechanics themselves were a little stiff, but I loved Vito's story.

With the music turned down you can really see who voices who like Eddie scarpa also voices the feds who arrest Vito in chapter 6 and also Vito himself voices Clemente’s goon’s that lead you to the meaning room where joe plants the bomb in chapter 10
Played this on pc when it came out. Great story and acting, serviceable gameplay for the time. Playing this on my ps4 pro, I found the game's narrative power intact but I'm afraid the gameplay didn't hold up at all. It was marred by additional issues (constant crashes) that made it practically unplayable for me, so I preferred sitting through this. Great job guys!

It's crazy for me to see how Mafia 1 and 2 sync up with Tommy. I played Mafia 2 first, so I didn't know who he was until later.
this game made me appreciate how much better gameplay is when you have a partner character basically the whole game
Honestly I much prefer this version over the redo they did for the lone scene in Mafia: Definitive Edition. In that one they reallllly screwed with Joe's face, to where the versions of him in this game and him in that game are barely recognizable.

It's to my shame that I didn't know about the game until it came free with Games with Gold on Xbox a few years ago, I downloaded on a whim but boy was I glad I did. The mechanics themselves were a little stiff, but I loved Vito's story.

With the music turned down you can really see who voices who like Eddie scarpa also voices the feds who arrest Vito in chapter 6 and also Vito himself voices Clemente’s goon’s that lead you to the meaning room where joe plants the bomb in chapter 10
Played this on pc when it came out. Great story and acting, serviceable gameplay for the time. Playing this on my ps4 pro, I found the game's narrative power intact but I'm afraid the gameplay didn't hold up at all. It was marred by additional issues (constant crashes) that made it practically unplayable for me, so I preferred sitting through this. Great job guys!
