    One of my closest friends went through the same thing as you; she never had a skin care routine and her skin was basically perfect, but during this year she decided to take proper care of her skin and she started getting pimples for the first time in her life. Once she stopped with her skin care routine, all the pimples went away

      It's also hard to pinpoint what's causing a breakout when you go from doing nothing to doing an entire routine.
      Not sure if it has any actual merit or not, but I've read you should try each product out for 3-6 months before chucking it. That way you can rule out food, routine, stress, hormones etc.
      Taz darling, it's great you're trying to take care of your skin but be careful if the advice you're listening to comes from actual dermatoligists or from marketing companies. Take it from a person who's spent a small fortune on skincare from the US, EU, Korea, and Japan.
      Go back to washing your face with water. Don't try to fix something that's not broken. Once your skin has calmed down, introduce 1 product at a time. Find a moisturizer or a sunscreen that really works for you and doesn't give you a reaction. Sunscreen is one of the things dermatologists preach on. But also be aware that as a woman of color, your need for sun protection will differ from your fellow pale white citizens.
      A lot of the time, you buy a cleanser that strips your skin and you gotta buy a moisturizer to hydrate. that clogs your pores so now you need a spot treatment. but that causes discoloration so you're splurging on a nice mask/treatment and then you've got no counterspace, cubords full of products you've barely used and there's no end to the things you need to buy.

      Same for me. I had eczema/pimples around my mouth. Stopped using skin care products, only water, and after 1,5 months my skin was clear again. Turns out you can get inflammation from skin care products

  • @siulg9243
    @siulg9243 3 ปีที่แล้ว +161

    If you're having acne now with skincare, take a look at your products and its ingredients. You're most likely reacting to some of them, cause pimples are caused by an inflamation on the skin or excess sebum on the skin (It can also be caused by eating a lot of fatty food of course). But if you use a toner i would start there, because toners can be really harsh on your skin if you don't choose the right one for your skin type. Then i would check your Cleanser, which is the second most likely thing to be causing the irritation on your skin. Check if it's apropriate for your skin type. And finally i would check your moisturiser. Is it for dry, normal or oily skin? Cause if you choose a "Dry Skin apropriate" moisturizer, and you have oily skin, for example, it will lead to over-moisturizing of the skin which can cause pimples and breakouts. Skin care should be carefully planed in order for it to work!

      This!!! I know someone who always had acne and one day she totally broke out and was told by her dermatologist, she was having skin reactions to her makeup. My skin was also very clean before I start skincare. I bought a lot of $$$ stuff and regret it, because weeks later my skin looked just like hersnow. I decided to leave all of this and started to wash my face with GLYCERIN SOAP (100% pure) and my moisturize was aloe vera. I would wash my face at the morning and in the night, putting the aloe vera on it and going to sleep when dry. Damn, my skin looks glamorous today. I swear, I'll never bought anything for my skincare ever again. I took some time, something like 6-10 weeks to start seeing the difference. But it was so worth it!!!

    • @SaraHinata
      @SaraHinata 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Derepentepaiss People always ask me what do I do to keep my face like I do (I only get pimples if I eat too much grease and such). I literally wash my face with the bar of soap I use for my body. That's it. I don't moisturize or do anything special. Maybe a sugar scrub every once in a while. Don't use make up either. Who knows, maybe that's the main reason I have never experienced anything on my face apart from the teenage acne 😂

    • @Derepentepaiss
      @Derepentepaiss 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@SaraHinata yah, it's all about cleaning your face. I prefer to use coconut soap for bathing, for both sustentability and health, but it's really hard to find it 100% pure where I live, so I stick with the glycerin one. maybe you have sensitive skin that erupts at those harsh ingredients from skin care products. If you skin is better without too much care, try to use a mild natural soap (calendula soap is best for me) and a gentle moisturising face cream. Or if a face cream is too much for you, try tapping your skin with rose water after you wash with soap and then add a liiiiitle bit of gentle moisture cream (go for chamomile, honey, propolis, seabuckthorn ingredients)

    Your skin is probably like that due to the mask. Wearing the mask gives impure skin - so makes sense, that it started pretty much then.

      @@mewmew8909 yep I said the same. Or like she mentioned not having any problems when she wasn't using any skincare products, she could go a few days without using any to see if it makes a difference.

      What mask?? Covid kinda mask or facial skin care mask? Because i'm pretty sure she does not wear too much of a protection mask, considering she just said in the video she doesn't go outside in this period of time.... And about that facial skin care mask.. if that brings you acnee, girl, you are using the wrong facial mask.

    hey Taz ! what I've learnt from years of skincare is that when u notice that before the use of skincare products vs after the use of them - if u feel ur skin was better off before then that generally means that the products done agree with ur skin and hence the breakouts. Your breakout patterns )cheeks and forehead) indicate that the products don't agree with u. HOPE THIS HELPS !!!!! LOVE YA !!!!!!

    This comments probably gonna get drowned out by the others BUT just as a tip (and this isn’t some pyramid scheme shit 🤣) for the skincare thing, I’m also a person of colour and I found that dr v rattans TH-cam videos (which are never sponsored) have been really helpful in understanding what type of skin care suits different skin types especially for people of colour! So would 100% recommend checking her out! And tip 2 for the cranberry drink, I started drinking fresh pomegranate juice and found that topping it up with sparkling water has helped! And as an FYI I usually hate sparkling water but actually it just does something to the juice that I’m like WOW I NEED MORE 🤣 Hope you’re having a great day! X

    The thing about skincare I feel is like if we take proper care of our skin , it looses it's natural oils which can be bad. Because when she didn't had skincare her skin was balanced and oils were perfect in their place and skin was strongly immune to bacteria and germs. After skincare, the skin lost its natural oils and sebum which is good for skin. That is what I think so I think you should do it once a week. It is also recommended to bath every 2 or 3 days in winters and summer it's okay to everyday for natural human body.
