Indeed. When I bought my BMW, stuff added up quickly: 87 to 91 octane, insurance, certain maintainance issues, availability of part. This is the stuff that surprises most people.
Fast cars aren’t cheap but they are fun! I recommend having 2 cars. A cheap running economy car and the fun one. If the fun one breaks, it can sit until your willing to put money in it to get it running fun again. CGA is definitely right about being stuck if it’s the only car.

I follow mechanic channels on TH-cam and these types of vehicles Lambos, Porches, Bentley, Bugatti (All owned by VolksWagon btw) are money pits when they get old and/or breakdown or need maintenance
Did he talk about the people who own them? Some of them can't afford them in the first place and go cheap on the maintenance. I've seen many of these cars being taken care of, and the majority don't have any issues. I feel if you are getting the cars for the wrong reason and are not really good at maintenance, you're better off with a Honda or Toyota. These are called luxury vehicles for a reason, they are not reliability, durable, or resident drivers. These cars need to be pampered as wealthy people would pamper them. I swear people want to status so much but no responsibilities with the status.
This is all truth. I know cars are cool. I miss the days when I had fun cars, but for me these days I'll take a base corolla on steelies. Cheap to operate, blend in with the crowd, never lets you down and no worries about someone scratching or effing with it.

Nothing is more attractive than a man who knows his own value. I just spent $1000 for BF Goodrich tires on my MDX, not because I needed new tires but because I wanted them. And it's money well spent in terms of pickup, handling, traction, braking and comfort. Don't ever skimp on tires. They can save your life.

I would find a mechanic second hand you trust. I do some work on my r56 mini cooper s It's BMW parts. I do some of the maintenance like oil brakes and tires. Then I have a garage that works on every car those guys don't play I won't ever have to bring it to the stealership. If you do this you could save a grip

People do this with standard affordable cars and cry about the consequences. Every vehicle has a pro/con to them, even used vehicles. For the European market, we can see more Younger people (less than 55 years old) for these cars and the older prefers historic cars. IMO, the Continental GT will be the best fit too! But i don't know if you ll keep the motivation to drive with all the comfort😂
A lot of the newer European cars they are more reliable than the past. Even the current bmws don't have silly fault. Look at aftermarket you can get same parts for street/track also a second hand mechanic try to find one, those guys will also never screw you like the stealership because they love your car like it was theirs very happy doing what they do. Keep enjoying your toys couch about to buy..maybe a mustang to sit with my euro car it's not a porsche but I'm going to try and get the power up.

Me being a porsche fanboy, I would assume your running "pilot cup sport 2s". Arguably the most expensive tires on the market.. i believe they are about 1,200 to 1,500 a tire. They literally glue you to the road. Respect
I had a used 944 and Boxster at different times in the 90s, I restored VW's, Audi's and Porsche's in the mid to late 90's. Everything with Audi and Porsche is very expensive even if you have the skill set and do it yourself. By 2003 I left Audi's and Porsche's alone and started buying and restoring cars or fixing them to sell based off the deal and the profit margin no longer for the brand name. I can't even imagine the prices Porsche and Audi charge these days. 😂

Women today expect some special event if you ask to marry them such as having sky writing or being at a baseball game and having it put on the board "will you marry me" or something else crazy. It's like the man is expected to be a trained animal that jumps through hoops and the one giving the commands are Hollywood movies and women's magazines.
This is why I stay away from modern sporty cars - they’re way too overpowered for most roads (max speed limit is 70-80 in most states) and the performance parts cost an arm and a leg. I have a 1986 BMW 325 E30 and I can fix most of the car reasonably cheap because a BMW this old is simple and not high strung compared to modern ones

LUXURY of a car....open bed for hauling....not a small trunk.... towing capabilites....hauling....big not medium or small....life saver..... sits up high .... built to last....trucks are the bread and butter of car dealerships.... 300K-500K motor mileage expectancy....car? Half that. Built for rugged terrain....the hood. It's a car with a open trunk....with better life expectancy...designed to take on bad conditions....especially a 4x4. I broke down the cost of what it roughly costs each year to own a dog. I raised her to see logic, even though she's a female, and she understood. Now she doesn't ask for one.
Give the dog the regular shots needed for immunities yourself, really easy to do, and you will save a bunch , you will need a vet for the rabies shot but it's not really expensive ,
