Cookie catches ODD MONSTER from the deep? (Ice Off Fishing Strawberry Reservoir)

It's early ice off time in Utah. Strawberry reservoir is Cookie's favorite. We headed up in a storm to give it a try. Cookie's favorite lure brought in an unexpected monster from the deep.
Got to try our new Jetboil outdoor stove to make lunch. We highly recommend it. Boiled water in less than a minute.
Such a beautiful place. Cookie's MS behaved and we had a great outing. Even with the weather we had a super time on our date.
Go catch your monster while the fish are still hungry.

Ya. Me too. Next day friends tore it up. I used all the tried and true methods but it was not that banger ice off day for us.

We are going up tomorrow, I’ve only fished strawberry once and my co worker never has. Hopefully we catch a couple

It is my favorite time to fish it. Tubes or marabou jigs are a great choice in green, black or white.

Just a note on fishing etiquette...notice the guy that is setting up right next us at the end. I had my pole in the water literally feet from him. Sad thing, that was the THIRD time someone set up right on us. It's called courtesy people 🤷‍♀️ There is plenty of shoreline.

Normally that trip would have been a 50+ fish day but I think the front had them off a bit
