In this video ill be showing you how I tested the compression on my 2010 Aprilia RS 125 2 stroke bike. I find the compression is low and the piston needs to be replaced.

What is the pressure limit?
I got 130 psi with a gunson after new top end go to pjme for your parts
I do shop at PJME. They are great for this bike.
Just give it a ring change and use 0.3 gasket or skim head and change squish to 0.8 or nearest you can

Im about to replace the piston once I see what size my cylinder is. A, AB or B and will also get it professionally measured.
At this stage I think I will use a Wossner 2 ring piston. Whilst doing this, I’ll also replace the little end bearing.
You mention 0.3 gasket and trying to achieve 0.8 squish. Is 0.8 squish good for mileage or power? I’d prefer to float somewhere around the midrange.

I kinda thought that may be the case. There is often a trade-off between more HP and longevity. Anyhow, I’d like to see how fast an Aprilia RS race bike can be when tuned to the max.
My bike do 160psi. But it jammed recently.

I hope you didn’t hurt yourself when it seized. It can sometimes lock up the back wheel.

I think the compression test can be done with a hit engine or cold?
It’s correct, the normal work of the engine is when it is hot. If you do the test with the engine cold, the gap is bigger than is hot. You need the compresión in a normal work. Hot one. Sorry for taking so long to answer
Will you be replacing the piston?
130 to 150psi is good mikita give low reading than original aprilia rs125
I got 137psi with a wossner after a rebuild and then ran in 🤔

How many KM did this piston have?
According to the clock, the old piston has 5000km on it. This is not much i know, however i changed the piston for my peace of mind and future plans for the bike.
