The close up BROLL adds a cinematic, pro feel. Appreciated. I especially liked the 50mm floor level, bed leg landing into centre frame. It was art. The talking heads is also well lit, good sound, well framed. Keep it up. This is limitless with the attention to detail and your cinematography tricks. Looking forward to some vertigos in the next one. lol
Nicholas Romano I agree with Nicholas, I lived in a home (back in the 70’s) with no bedrooms, no closets, and at the time we bought it, heat came from the kitchen stove/oven. At 360 sq ft.. and 2 adults and a cat, we managed to live there for seven years. The worst part was the lack of a closet to store snow boots and coats. If you are looking to buy a property in the colder parts of the country, you will be need it. Like the plan, could see us in it, if there were bookcases, and places for audio and visual equipment, along with cds, DVD’s, vinyl , laserdiscs, and reel-to-reel tapes. Laugh if you will, we still have a number of 8-track tapes. We’re donating much in advance of retirement, but typical tiny house has little or no storage for that type of things.
Osogoodgirl. Yes, exactly! I’ve also wondered the same thing over the years while watching TH videos. They can even add a small roof (something lightweight) over the porch in case of rain, and simply fold it over the porch when they pack up.
I think a lot are hesitant because they don't want to compromise on the width. This build doesn't have that issue thanks to their - presumably expensive - popout system. You can still do it otherwise just need to think about how the structural support of the deck will work without pushing your walls in too much.
it seems that this tiny-house is designed mainly for RV parks (connected to utilities) and not boondocking, even if it has some capabilities. AC & washing machines are generally energy and water hogs to be conveniently run on solar & tanks
This is the best tiny house I've viewed on you tube. It's awesome. Someone mentioned Solar panels, I wonder why they haven't added those. Anyway its real cool.
Magnificent. For years I've railed against the narrowness of caravan or trailer living spaces and designed loads of sliding wall variations dreaming of the day I might actually build one. What a joy to see one in actuality working so beautifully as a proper home with hardly any comprises to space.. What a brilliant concept well done to both of you
Although the couple did not disclose the amount they spent on this unit, a perusal of the zerosquared.ca website led me to guess it was a 26’ Aurora model and ran around US$99,500, tho I was only guessing at the construction choices they made from the pics shown.
2 things bother me about this: 1. The prices are getting way too far away from what the TH movement is supposed to be about in the first place: AFFORDABLE housing, 2. When folks rent theirs out on Air B’N’B, they tend to charge an awful lot; making it impossible for folks of modest means to try one out for a weekend to see how it suits them. This too is getting too far from the original intention of the movement. Why does the love of money have to ruin so many good things????!!!!!
Jazherah MacMornna I agree that the quaint tiny homes have a charm but for many I think the point of the tiny home movement is to reduce their carbon footprint, stay mobile and reduce the cost of living. Ultimately in terms of today’s housing market, $100,000 for a home is a steal and if they’re living in it, it’s all of the above. Some people want to do all of those things but without giving up little luxuries. If that’s what they need in order to downsize, then it’s a good thing to go for it, right?! :) If this was their second home it might be different but considering this is their home, it’s good that they’ve made it comfortable for themselves!
Jazherah MacMornna perhaps. But not everybody wants a tiny home simply for affordability. Some want to be able to travel in it. Some just don’t want a lot of space etc. There’s not a right or wrong. The ‘movement’ side of it stays the same for those who have that motivation.
Exactly what I was desiring before I transitioned into my new tiny family home. This is Divine and divinely orchestrated that I saw this video. Thank you very much for sharing!
If I were building a tiny house with slides, I would just get a RV with massive water damage (they're everywhere) for next to nothing of free, strip the slide mechanisms from it, and scrap the rest. Once the slide mechanism is accounted for, the slides themselves are not complicated, and you could take the time and effort to engineer them properly (unlike how RV mfrs do it haha).
Amazing what people come up with in the guessing future of tiny homes.Looking at these tiny home, the first thing come to mind would be the cost.I am sure it is not cheap for all of the special features. But if you can afford it,build what you like/want.Thanks for sharing the video, and to you both and your subscribers.Stay safe and healthy.✌🌍
That’s really amazing!!! Thanks so much James and Kim for sharing your lovely home and best of luck with your tiny home rentals, it sounds pretty awesome 😎 🙂
Absolute brilliance. Love the Murphy Bed and slide outs. Livable tiny -- about living comfortably, rather than going overboard on trying to prove how little space you can exist in. There is existing and living. I prefer to live!!
THANKS FOR THE TOUR OF YOUR TINY HOUSE. THERE IS SO MUCH ROOM AND STORAGE WITH THE SLIDEOUTS. YOUR HOUSE IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE DESIGNS. LIKED THE BATHROOM AND THE KITCHEN. WHERE YOU SHOWED EXTRA PREP SPACE FOR COOKING AND SPACE FOR GUESTS TO DINE. I WOULD LOVE LIVING IN A HOME LIKE THIS.
Transforming tiny house is super awesome! But my favorite part is that glossy cabinet!! I personally can't do them cuz it will be covered in finger prints and I will go insane...but they are so so pretty and pleasing to look at!!
I have been looking at several tiny homes this is the first one I have seen that expands out on the sides. That is really a nice design I like it, I think I could live very comfortably in this home.
I've watched vids on this folded tiny house but this one I like much better becuz it shows how people live inside it, which is always an interesting aspect of a tiny house vid to me. So can see myself live in this tiny house, the concept is great and looks like everything works out well. Thank you for sharing.
It seems like rather than have that fixed wall in the middle of the tiny house, I wonder if something could be done with a sliding/folding accordion wall, where you might actually be able to make a bedroom or separated room or sorts, and then reconfigure or open it as door. I've see these in some other houses and though it was kind of of cool instead of having fixed walls.
yep, even a garage door but with the top part still being opened up or made of plexiglass(?) to let light through (i don't know if that makes sense, lol). and, instead of it rolling down a frame that would just be in the way, it could unfold and somehow be secured to metal links(?) built into the floor.
Mat and Danallie I just love all your work. I have been following your channel for very long. I like ur presentation lifestyle and approach, simple , balanced and positively influencing without being imposing kind of. And i watch your minimalism videos over and over again.
Well done! Has to be one of the best designed and finished tiny homes I have seen! Great idea with the double slide out and more importantly, smart utilization of what to do with the extra space and just having the extra sq. footage! Funny thing is, these Tiny Homes are essentially RV's 2.0.
Impressive! Wonderful use of space. It's the first time I've seen the reversing TV and fireplace and it also shows why a Murphy bed is a must ... Cheers
Fantastic design, really impressed with the slide outs and fold up porch. What a great idea to really take advantage of the space. What a great place home.
Wow. Watched so many of these, and this is amazing. Towns and cities should set aside small land plots, for people to buy if they want to spend a few years wherever. This seems perfectly livable.
Thank you for watching!! You can follow James and Kim on Instagram here:

Looks amazing!!!
Best design and use of space I have seen in a tiny house. 👌🏻
Seems to me it's not actually a "tiny house".
Gayle D Definitely not but within the parameters for travel. Probably not within the concept of tiny house living. 👍🏻
@@gayled3059 I believe anything under 400sf is considered a tiny house. And it was stated that the expanded sf was 340.

I agree defo.
Thoughtfully designed. "Towing is no joke". Great to hear someone speak to that.
I love the integrated porch and have always wondered why more tiny houses don't have that.

I'm surprised that they didn't run any solar on the roof

Love the fact that the tv and fireplace swivels.
The best one I've seen, how do I get plans on this
It's a great idea. I just wonder how it's wired for rotating around so the wires don't bind up from twisting around.
But what if you have guests and you both want fire and tv in bed?
Flashy, but kind of a gimmick.
K D Ik the fireplace is cool and all but who wants to watch a fireplace instead of a tv lol
Each time I watch another tiny house video I am amazed by the ingenious ideas that people come up with. Lovely design thank you for sharing x
This is really a fabulous home. Though with the prices I’ve seen of other tiny homes I can imagine this is cost prohibitive for most.
Although the couple did not disclose the amount they spent on this unit, a perusal of the zerosquared.ca website led me to guess it was a 26’ Aurora model and ran around US$99,500, tho I was only guessing at the construction choices they made from the pics shown.
Yeah, their site had it as like over $100k.....

I love everything about this. They've done the best job BY FAR compared to anyone else who lives tiny
This undoubtedly is the best tinyhouse ever 👍👍👍👍
Brilliant design. Brilliant construction and obviously no shortage of brilliance in both of you. Inspiring.
Incredible use of space and beautifully simple.
This is in a category of its own. Very smartly done.

Beautiful home. I love the fact you can widen the space. It’s lovely. 👍🏻
