Love what you've done here. That floor is fabulous. Is your mini-split not reversible??? I use mine to cool in summer and heat in winter. Such a unique concept for a home. Brilliant !!!🇦🇺🤗🙏💞👌👍✌️👏✝️🇺🇸
First of all I love how simple and inviting this house is. I think they have done an amazing job turning such a confined space into something truly beautiful and open. I understand a tiny home needs to be built around the person who is going to live in it, so no design is wrong design. Personally for me though, the biggest challenge I saw with this if I had to live in a place like this is the open toilet and shower. All that smell and humidity is directly entering the bedroom and I don’t know how that works but it certainly doesn’t look appealing to sleep in. The downstairs though were absolutely stunning, specially the heavy duty stairs with so much character.
I was thinking the same thing about the bathroom. I love this home but I would need more bathroom privacy personally. Well said about tiny homes being very individual to the people who build/live in them.
You're design sense is amazing. It shows that it would be as perfect to live in as it is to look at. The drawers under the stairs is brilliant. LOVE the black and white 'check'. Not sure how something so bold can look so calm...but it's just beautiful. The chunky stairs...awesome. The real genius is the bathroom floor. I'm in awe. And the stacks of toilet paper as art !!??!!...inspired. I could live happily in this space. You've done an amazing job showing that you don't have to sacrifice style and comfort for size.
The simplicity, creativity and ingenuity-- just wow. This opens up other possibilities with grain silos! Glad I got to see this as this shows me that I can afford to build something like this.
Thanks Danielle and Mat for being so amazing to work with. It was such an honour to have you out to the Silo. We couldn't have asked for a better experience.
My husband and I want kids, but this is such a lovely option for a couple who doesn’t want kids, someone living alone, or retired couples! This is gorgeous! ❤ Absolutely love that they’re sharing this experience on Air B&B.
I am very impressed. The under-floor heating is wonderful, The ingenuity and use of so many materials, the cedar cut into rounds and then shellacked, the stairs and storage ideas are novel, and what a wonderful home for happy wanderers!
What a gorgeous space - almost like a yurt stacked on a yurt. Pam and Dave have done an exquisite job on both the engineering and the design. The sun tunnel at the peak is genius! Thank you for sharing this.
WOW, I love this home it's beautiful , such a great design & decor plenty of storage and open concept , love the staircase up , I would love to have a home like this , so simple and practical . You two have designed what i feel is a perfect smaller home .You could design me a home like this anytime . simply Amazing folks.
Very interesting this silo life! Love the floor with recuperation of cut pieces of wood- just gorgeous. The stairs with bid beams are so neat! The set up is confortable and very inviting. Great work! Thanks
It sure is pretty neat! We really enjoyed visiting the Silo and hearing Pam and Dave talk about their experience living in it! Thanks for checking out the tour :)
I did see they don't live there anymore, but had for 4 years. I would definitely clutter it up more than it would look with it being used for holidays now, but still love the aesthetic of it.
Thanks for your comment :) I think our favourite part of the home is the bedroom with the circular celling and the light coming through from the dome, it's beautiful!!
This is beautiful, creative, and stylish. I’d need a modern couch though. (I’d also need another building to store my books, bike, golf clubs, coolers, beach chairs, jigsaw puzzles, sewing machine, hobby and craft stuff, off-season clothes and footwear, suitcases, office supplies and paperwork, garden tools, memorabilia, Costco paper towels haha, etc.)
The best tiny home I have ever seen but I wound not feel comfortable coming up and down those stairs I would feel safer with a rail on the side of the stairs.
Very creative build, but idk how i feel about where the bathroom is located and it not having a door. I wouldn't be able to handle the smells in my bedroom.
Now we live in wilderness 🐎.. our land 200.000 meter2 and we are using solar system with fully battre 14.000 watt. I plan to raise horses, buffaloes, chicken, and grow vegetables. Any other ideas?
I wish they'd taken and shown us some footage of what that kitchen looked like when it had an oven. For a much a I cook, transporting a stove top back and forth wouldn't work for me for the long term or even an extended long-term (2+weeks) stay. Otherwise, I love their space.
Thanks for watching and for your comment. We really enjoyed visiting the Silo and hearing Pam and Dave talk about their experience living in it! I definitely don't think that they are building things just to make money. They lived in the Silo for 4 years before moving on to another project and I think they really love the process of creating, building and trying new things. :)
@@ExploringAlternatives Thanks for replying, people usually do that ofcourse it could be different with them but I hardly doubt this because people are not so eager to build and build all the time once they've completed a project or two. But ofcourse it could be otherwise with these guys but honestly it's bad for the housing market aswell to constantly move on to other projects and never stay to build the community. It creates unstable market since most of these building end up as rent investments and or short-term housing
@@anywaystohighway What the heck ???!!!! You're saying you should control how people live and earn a living ???? I've never read so much nonsense in 70yrs !!!! No different than the explosion of AirBnB’s! It is all insane. Most AirBnB’s aren’t that great anyway. This; however, is a very nice space. Would love to live in this place! ❤

Beautiful, it’s something special with round homes.
Of all the silo conversions I've seen, this is the most comfortable and cosy. I really love it; I could imagine living there.

What a STUNNING home. I would live in this in a heartbeat 😍😍😍
where u live now currently ?
They don't live there, it's air b'n'b.
They don't live there, it's air b'n'b. I think, there is not enough storage for Your stuff. I didn't even see a wardrobe for your clothes.

The first thing I’m curious about is building/occupancy permits. Did the township embrace alternative housing or was it a bureaucratic nightmare ?
Thank you for sharing!

love the bathroom floor!

Charming! Wondering what the cost of that silo was...
Assuming it’s an Airbnb now considering it’s being referred to in the past tense?
Like the concept, but what about the rust?

Thank you. I completely missed that.

AC in WC?😅
Gosh thats good stuff. Im ashamed of what we're being taught in my department.
It's beautiful but They Need To Remove The Rust.
I love this house, but, you need to paint the outside. It's beginning to rust.
So cool! But this is for a married guy, not the dating kind of guy. That semi-open bathroom May be a mood killer on a new date you bring home…😂
Why do so many fridges open the wrong way in these kind of videos?
Just so you know. This is a grain bin. Not a silo. If you're looking for kits to build. Grain - bin. Bin.
Although nice, I hate climbing stairs so it wouldn't do for me ! 🤮
Also no door where the toilet is either.
Why does everybody use the word space when place or area would be more appropriate?
carhart coveralls. must have
Basically from the start she's saying shes only building to earn money.

It's a worthy living, building homes for those who don't have the means or ability to do so themselves.
