A girl I dated a few years ago loved this song, she just passed away tragically a few days ago and left behind a 13 year old son. This song will always make me think of her. Rest In Peace Kristen ❤️
I was fortunate to be at this concert. When she played Fast Car, I was just stunned. I've been to a lot of concerts in my 57 years. This moment is easily one of the most powerful performances I have ever witnessed.
My twin brother passed away just a couple weeks ago, this song always brings me such bittersweet memories. He showed me this song, this version specifically. He loved it so much, he’d play it and sing along to it 24/7. He always smiled when he sang it, it was one of his absolute favorites. I can’t help but bawl my eyes out now when I hear it but at the same time it brings me so many wonderful memories. I miss you Jake. So much, I love you more than anything. Womb mates forever.
I lost my little brother a few years ago. I couldn't imagine if he was my twin. There is no describing the void it creates inside and out. I'm sorry for your & your families loss. I wish I could tell you it gets easier. Remember and tell the stories. Live, laugh and smile as much as you can.
I'm sorry for your loss. Remember, that a part of him will always live on - through you. Your memories, your shared experiences, he will always be there - in your heart. Stay strong. And feel your feelings.
This song just reminds me how life isn't always what you planned..Sometimes dreams die, and people change. We don't always get what we want out of life, no matter how hard we try. Sometimes all we can do is acknowledge that and try our best to move on and make due with what we have. This song is timeless, and no wonder so many people can relate to it. It sounds so haunting and sad, and yet comforting in a weird way..
If you're listening to Tracy just a few hours into 2022, I want to say that we should all live under one big roof and play our favorite songs for a lifetime. Love from Kenya!
i felt that. same thing happened to gwen Stefani singing dont speak in 1997. theres a certain part where you can tell she loses touch with everything but the song amd all the band mates stop to look at her amd quickly shake it off in order not to fuck up. its actually amazing.

The individual below is stuck on gender rather than the experience of the human pain. Should the pain be greater or less felt if it were the different gender? Is one over the other more susceptible to the pain? I see a baby girl cry out in pain, I see the baby boy cry out in pain, what I truly see is the person, the human in pain. Refocus on the message of victory and celebrate the human endurance.

i agree, people become teachers cause it's a calling not for monetary gain, i was lucky to have great teachers in my life, as a kid i thought i could outsmart them but they already knew what i was doing but incurred me to excel in life which i did
You know how many teachers changed the lives of other people? I live in Canada Never been to a south American country in all my life And yet because of 1 teacher Hablo Espanol! ok Pocito Hablo Espanol : ) But i know where Argentina is And you drink yerba mate And empanadas And BBQ some of the best beef in the world ...Not bad for a kid that not like learning cultures and history And at 14 i was working a job to help my widowed mother ...You teach a soul And you change a life
I’m a 31 year old black man who has never been into country. But I randomly heard this a few weeks back and listened to it 100 times since then lol damn this may be one of the best songs ever written
Same here. Its more of a folk song.
Luke Comb did a fantastic cover of this song, but nothing compares to Tracy's....nothing.
This is her original song, not country at all, a country artist doing a rendition doesn’t make it country, this original will always be what this song is

He is still there and here he is watching over you he loves you don't be sad
Womb mates forever! You must be heartbroken!
I lost my little brother a few years ago. I couldn't imagine if he was my twin. There is no describing the void it creates inside and out. I'm sorry for your & your families loss. I wish I could tell you it gets easier. Remember and tell the stories. Live, laugh and smile as much as you can.
Wow. I’m sooo sorry I couldn’t imagine 💔 stay blessed brother

This woman was so far ahead of her time. One of the greats

Yep.
"That's life", beautifully captured.

Some people that are actually real musicians are able to play live and usually be better than studio recordings. Those are the ones we call legends
No flashing lights or glitzy dancers just emotion and quality.
I believe there is still an audience for that today, but music industry is kind if stuck in their approach. As I am originally from germany, i noticed that there, "low key music" became very popular these days! However, Tracy is an exceptional artist which will propapbly never reached again
