Absolutely a game changer for future RVs. It's as if someone looked at a Living Vehicle RV and said, "let's put it on steroids!" Perhaps the overall best in engineering thought of how to maximize every inch space and convenience. The mixed garage feature is truly astonishing with capability to store a Tesla 3, but to convert at the push of a button into an additional full-size sleeping quarters.
One of the best features for Boondocking, you can transfer all you grey/black waste from the rv (400 gallon fresh and 400 black/grey) to the truck (which has a massarater toilet to use while driving) and take it away to dump, and fill your fresh water tank, bring it back to your campsite...now that's very cool.
Wow what an crazy amazing rig!!! I could only dream of owning one of those. They did an outstanding job building that ultra off grid set up. Many blessings 🙌 🙏 😃 😊 😀
That's an awesome amount of power! I have a concern though. With all the ev fires that are still burning after having 30,000 gallons of water put on them, just how safe is it to have all those lithium batteries in the belly of an RV?
It’s not the same type of lithium battery. Assuming they’re using what everyone else uses nowadays (LiFePO4), they don’t really burn the same. These batteries do not release their oxygen to feed themselves and get hotter like Li-ion do. They’re a much safer battery for living with long term
*Up the anti, articulated well*. Just an amazing journey of adventurous adventuring you would have. Also with a 'front cab truck on wheels' that tows that luxury boat of an RV type trailer. Let that dream of dreaming permeate the brain ($$)
now all it needs is a "watergen on board" when they are released and you would never need to go get water. it produces about 50 liters of premium quality drinking water per day just from the atmosphere and electricity.
The reference here to “Doomsday” is not a biblical one. Rather it is a simile to an event resulting in mass power loss or some other infrastructure event. This rig could provide an escape from the resulting ensuing chaos. Yes, this truck and trailer do have each an EMP Shield device.
We're retired FTers who are avid boondockers in a 36ft gas Class A Motorhome with a tag axle. We have a more modest 5,000-watt solar system with 22.9 Kwh of batteries which provides 24/7 off grid AC and supplemental heat. Most importantly, it is light enough (around 22k lbs) to actually take it down poorly maintained, sometimes muddy forest service roads, across sand washes, etc. to remote boondocking locations in beautiful wilderness settings. I can't imagine taking this beautiful and expensive rig to the places we routinely boondock at, as its far too heavy and large. What is the point in having all this size and capacity if you can't take it off a paved road or park it in a meadow or on a beach without worrying about it sinking in the ground when it rains? A month's worth of water and waste storage sounds great in theory, but the typical BLM and FS stay limit is only 14 days. Besides I'm sure that solar and battery system alone costs twice as much as my entire boondocking MH. One Idea I really like though is that the truck can go to the dump station leaving the RV in place. It would be neat to incorporate that design into a more conventional, lighter fiver and pick-up tow vehicle.
Not throwing shade!! Just constructive comments! Not sure I like the ceiling cassettes. That reduces the solar by what looks like 1/3. Also the ceiling cassettes require a condensate pump that is prone to failure. I realize that the wall mount evap units might be unsightly, but by using them you'd end up with 30%+ more solar panels and they could gravity drain the condensation. With 100+kWH the recharge time is going to be significant, 1 cloudy day and you could be at a deficient for days more. 2 cloudy days..... And that tow rig better have a 30-50kw pto generator. (which I imagine it does).
Just a suggestion for "next level" design for Spacecraft: solar panel system tied into RV location GPS coordinates that could raise, lower, and swivel rooftop solar panels to optimize solar gain. Flat solar panels don't gain that much solar energy at any latitude except at the equator and not places where you can park a rig this size are going to allow one to orient the vehicle to true south. Being able to optimize solar panel orientation, mechanically via the RV's GPS location, would indeed be "next level". And yeah, I know, more levels of complexity/technology/mechanization just means more things to break/go wrong, but even so. Being able to raise up-tilted solar panels out of the shadows of the lower placed panels would also be "next level".
The newer panels don't need to be angled. This isn't accurate, but it's like they crushed the stuff inside so it can catch a lot of angles of the rays.
Why are you bypassing ("shorting") the fuses in the electrical bay with cable? th-cam.com/video/IxJjdbRvLGE/w-d-xo.html (6:08 into the video) Those big fuses - if they blow there's something very seriously wrong and you want to stop it - with a fuse popping. Otherwise - solar awning, 100+ KW lithium, 240 volt split phase, mini-splits, tons of freshwater. Other than this being the size of an actual house, excellent choices.
You must not have been paying attention to the video. This rig has 4 mini splits. Three are of the ceiling cassette variety and one is hidden in the "bladder" to keep the battery system cool. THAT'S why it costs $800K (along with all the other luxury items).
Interesting build but not very practical. This will not fit in any state or national parks and probably very few private camp ground if any. Knowing how easy something like this will get stuck in sand, gravel or dirt roads takes true boon docking off the table as well. Owing something like this would require owning your own land and have a maintained road to access it. Good thing the owner has more money than you know what!
There is a network of places HDT rigs can go around the country. It does require a lot of forward planning. You are correct, I certainly cannot wing-in on places to park it. All my stops are planned months in advance. The state and National parks will be day trips accessed using my EV.
