Fried rice is life. The term in Japanese for separate grains is ‘Para-para’. Which is in itself more difficult with freshly cooked short grain rice used in Chahan.
I've found this as well. Getting short grain rice to separate evenly is a real pain. Will figure it out eventually I bet

cept for Spy X Family pork chops in paw paw sauce. That's an insane dish because paw paw are a fruit indigenous to North America that taste like banana citrus mango. I have no idea how those flavors work, and Alvin/Babish would have to go forage for the fruit since you can't buy it anywhere. I've posted it on the subreddit and it got attention, but not from them :/

The wok flavor reminds me of the flavor you get from a well used, well seasoned, cast iron skillet.

I like to add onion and garlic in my fried rice and finish with green onion and white pepper. I add more things, it really depends what I have left over in the the refrigerator though.
I personally really like making the version with the rice mixed with the yolk first cuz I love the flavor

Yeah both the anime and the manga are top-tier. It's probably one of the best romcoms ever written and the anime adaptation is perfect. I'm definitely a bit sad to see it ending

As a Westerner without a wok or a recipe, my first attempt at fried rice was similar to recipe 2.
Oil and rice into a cold pan. As the sound of frying starts, stir in eggs beaten in a couple teaspoons of light soy sauce, stirring constantly.
The rice will take on a risotto consistency before breaking apart. This gives one an even golden coating, but it is lacking in wok hei.
Chinese fried rice with green onion is a must. Taste so much better with green onion than with out

The problem I always have with making fried rice is my stove never gets the heat necessary to make a wok screaming hot.
