The worst part is the story treats Gabi like she did nothing wrong even though she acts like a horrible person throughout the entire 4th part, and it gives her everything on a silver platter.
@@suwacc3237 um i don't think that's true. The whole point of the scouts being nice to her is to show the difference between the Eldians and Marlians. If you think Gabi should have been heavily punished for something she committed as a brainwashed child you might just subconsciously be more in line with the Marlian ideals.

It speaks of comfort, being in a cozy, fire-lit room, with nothing but the crackle of said fire to break the silence, everyone gathering around to partake in a well earned meal, to fill their bellies and allow the worries of the day to slip away into the darkness. All too often in this fast paced world, where a quickly made burger becomes the go-to meal for many, we tend to forget the need for proper nourishment, not just for the body, but for both mind and soul, and a lovingly crafted meal such as this can bring respite for all three.

Alvin is delightful. I can only imagine how much that beef cost these days.
Three ribs? If it's Prime? Probably around $150. Maybe as much as $200, but it's not really the high demand season right now so it's probably cheaper.
The USDA Choice roast I bought at Christmas (2 ribs) was around $70-80.
I sold my left kidney for a prime rib like this
@@masonneal1654 Meeeh. It's not that expensive :P That's probably 8-10 pounds of meat. Really high quality meat. And if it's too rich for the blood, cash wise, USDA Choice is a lot cheaper, and perfectly tasty.

Triple alternative: Use a juicer then recombine the juice and the pulp!
Perhaps he was just reliving what the people of Eldia in Attack On Titan had to go through to even make that dish
I feel like Alvin is really starting to develop his voice in these videos. It's really sounding more natural for him to be on voice over.

Can I just say, this is my first Alvin video on Babish Culinary Universe and I love it. Everything Alvin makes is so relaxing
Some of the recipes from Ascendance of a Bookworm might be fun to do! Pound cake is explained pretty clearly in the books but is pretty simple either way. They do a Consomme in the books as well. But there's also "Steamed Potatoffel" which is just steamed Potatoes, along with rumtopf.

As a homebrewer, I was silently screaming about exploding glass jars until the airlock showed up lol
Now that i’m getting more into anime’s i’m glad I can come and watch Alvin make the foods just like Babish did for my childhood shows
Seeing Alvin do all that stuff with the crust and then say the crust was too done for his liking was so funny to me idk why
I like seeing him make a whole meal, instead of just a single dish, it's a lot more entertaining.
Alvin always does his best! I love his calmness, curiosity to learn new things and ambition to develop his skills in what was meant for him! He is an example for the young!

one of my favorite things watching all of these is that it always gives me a picture of just how vast the world of food is and just how much knowledge and expertise goes into it. Literal generations of experience can go into mastering the craft of a single food, and that's seriously cool
I continue to thoroughly enjoy watching Alvin make things. Your calm voice is very soothing to listen to, and it really makes your joke deliveries hit that much harder. And the food looks delicious!

This one of the few babish videos where I could smell what was cooking. I work in a kitchen of a high scale retirement home. And we usually do 7 or 8 of these roasts on sundays. The kitchen smells amazing

Great cooking, looks fantastic! Also, don't worry about "over-cooking" the cap (spinalis) - it's pretty much impossible to avoid unless you use sous vide; additionally, the cap is so fatty and tender that it hardly matters. A lot of people prefer the texture of the cap around medium to mid-well too (me included).
