Yeah Netflix would likely butcher the series if they didn't
@@hobobill3361 i dont think netfix wants to control them. They are a streaming platform. They want glitch to continue whatever stuff theyve been doing, as the videos are blowing up like crazy.
Ok thank goodness if that's the case
I'm reminded of when Don't Hug Me I'm Scared got its TV show and how the creators were still given full creative control (apparently, one of the people who's a part of Channel 4 already worked on the series before so that definitely helped).
Honestly, this is a huge W for Glitch and Indie animation. And very… uncharacteristically not corporate of Netflix. Like Netflix isn’t the worst but they’ve done their share of scummy stuff and this just seems very chill and even generous of them.

If Netflix ever took control, two years later there would be a TH-cam videos called something like “Netflix’s canceled Digital Circus” or “The rise and fall of Digital Circus”
How would they take control if they only have distribution rights? Seriously, do people not know what distribution rights are? It's like they think distribution rights and creative control rights are the same thing. This happened with Doctor Who when some people were worried about Disney having creative control over it when all they have on it is distribution rights.

It makes me so happy that gooseworx stood her ground to have full control of her show than executives having control. That’s what every cartoons creator should have! Full freedom to decide on what they want to do with their shows! ^^
A major step for indie animation to have this much freedom. I’m super happy about it!
Perhaps a surreal series (along the lines of Duck Amuck, The Cat That Hated People and the Teen Titans episode, Fractured) will appear someday?
After all, anyone can have a 'Wonderland' not just (an) Alice. ^_^
**wonders if Daria Morgendorffer's would have a Spumco animation style**
This is what we want, freedom for creativity, new ideas , support for more original content, and most importantly, respect for animation. Big win for the animation industry, and indie animation side. 😁😁😁😁😁

Omg What Happens If The Kids See This On Their Parents Netflix Pfp...
This is awesome! I believe this would be a great model for future animation: supported independently by people but published on streaming services for full creative control.
I also had a weird dream where someone was interviewing this millionaire who founded his own animation company because he was sick of Netflix and other platform cancelling shows.
The amazing digital circus will also have a manga adaptation. The strange thing is, that it's going to be on corocoro comic: a children's (specifically elementary schoolers) magazine. Kids in Japan must be way more mature than western children. The other thing that weirded me about it is that the manga will start after the airing of episode 3. And knowing there will be nine episodes, it will start just after the first act was completed. Makes me question if the manga team know the full story already or if it's like a reverse soul eater/original Fullmetal alchemist and alucard anime adaptation where they don't know the full story and will make up their own ending and events if the adaptation were to progress faster than the source material.

This is great, and I'm SUPER excited for TADC to come out on Netflix!
I have'nt seen this show in full yet however the glimpses I've seen have me interested, and of course a big win for the shows creators to not only have it on Netflix but also retain their creative control.
I got into the show pretty late when the second episode came out but damn it is incredible and something that I would have imagined being on adult swim or a slightly more mature cartoon network show
Indie animation is in full swing at this point. We are in for an era where big Hollywood studios AND the people make shows. I’m surprised big-corporation-know-for-cancelling-every-good Netflix didn’t try to get more from them, just tiptoeing with the set boundaries.

I love how popular and big it is so much that it's on Netflix. But also I love that the creators actually have full control this time. This is what it should be. Not Netflix having full control for your animated series. It should definitely be the full control for the creators. And I hope more creators do this in the future. Netflix hasn't been that kind to animators like I heard. So I'm glad that they can opt out whenever they can and still be on TH-cam
BRO THIS IS A BIG MOMENT IN INDIE ANIMATION HISTORY 😭💀
I will never forget that this was made by the same dudes (or currently, a team.) that started out by making funny clips about video games glitches, and later SM64 bloopers.
This is a massive W for TADC and indie animation in general. Let's keep this going!
The Amazing Digital Circus is also getting a Japanese manga later this year as well. An indie show hasn’t exploded this much in popularity since the early days of RWBY when the show was still considered indie as that show was also on Netflix for a while before it moved to Crunchyroll and it also has its own manga. BTW the series is still alive as VIZ Media acquired the rights to it after Rooster Teeth shut down earlier this year.
Looks like this is a huge step for Indie animation! This has become popular at this point.
Glad that indie animation is getting more respect!
This is going to be HUGE!!!!
I'm kinda happy that this is happing
Good thing they still have full creative control,The amount Netflix will give them will definently help make future episodes and other potential projects they have in mind better
I love how every video you make just makes me go "SINCE WHEN-"
It's nice of them to not make it a Netflix-exclusive. Or so their claim at the moment. Hopefully they're true to their words. 🙂
Huge win for Indie Animation. Although I van get the concern it's interesting that Netflix went to them probably to get on this Indie Animation hype train thingy and decide if they wanna dip their toes more into Indie animation and allow indie creators fully control
When I saw the YT community post last night, I was kind of comforted by the fact that Netflix doesn’t own their asses, but I was still skeptical because Glitch is a company. I felt it was still possible that whoever created the post was told to lie just so the heads of the company wouldn’t take any heat.
Vail, I can’t thank you enough for sharing Goose’s statement on this. I wanted their statement on the matter more than anyone else’s, but I shut down my Twitter for the sake of my mental health. Hearing the creator say they still have full control makes me much more comfortable.
And to think it’s been on TH-cam for less than a year, this just shows just *how* popular this show has become to the point even *NETFLIX* wants to bargain in.
A brand new day for indie animation, my friends! 😅
That’s actually pretty nice. They can improve their budget, and help it gain popularity while having full control over what they do.
Hazbin effect moment
In all seriousness, as much as I love mainstream animation, I’m impressed with how far indie projects have come, huge win for not just indie animation, but animation as a whole.
