I get the feeling that Epic Games want to fully transition Fortnite into a full Roblox-styled game platform for 5 billion different games within it and more and just have BR mode be just another game within it as they go bigger with their ambitions. And to truly make it happen, they need to kill off the last loose end and connection to the original game's vision with Jonesy to make things happen fully.
I don’t think they’ll kill him off but will brutally injure him during the ending, making him take a break/retire from being the centre of the storyline for a while maybe bring him back later on. As you can see in the loading screen hope has Jones’ shield so I think when jones is injured he hands her the shield and this with be her motivation to be the leader she was anxious about being and take that step up and save the island from doom, but with a cost, when the oracle meant a victory with defeat in disguise I think it’s cause hope will lock herself away in the Pandora’s box sealing it with all its power just like the foundation did with the zero point in chapter 2 hopefully she will come back though if this theory is true.
The Cube Queen ain’t dead! She teleported back to Cube’s Cradle, as otherwise, she would have been crushed by the island flipping over, and therefore killed, and is still hunting us down! Fracture’s purpose was to reveal that The Last Reality were victorious amid The Herald’s actions, as The Zero Point was a petrified rock, and The Last Reality was really hunting us down! To undo all of the damage that Fracture caused, we did The Big Bang event. Now, The Last Reality is still here, but they can’t find us. We will have to defeat them eventually, at least in my opinion. The Big Bang gave us more time to prepare for the final battle against The Cube Queen. Then, the storyline will likely officially be over, well, unless if there’s a new main antagonistic faction that forms in the result of The Last Reality’s defeat! And I hope that eventually, Fortnite will have a movie, and maybe an entire movie trilogy, at least in my opinion! The Cube Queen would be the main antagonist of this trilogy, and it would be about someone escaping the loop, likely Agent Jones, and learning more about the IO, defeating them at the end of the 1st film, with Geno as the main antagonist, but then, in the sequel, the person, likely Agent Jones would learn about The Last Reality and meet up with The Seven, who are planning to destroy The Last Reality. The evil interdimensional empire would then kidnap The Seven via the chrome, and attack us! At the end of the sequel, The Cube Queen would rave about how she wants to destroy the Omniverse with getting the zero point! The final movie would be the final battle against The Cube Queen! It would be amazing movie series to have!
