I found out a couple days ago that the first ever documentation of Chimps vs Gorillas happened last year. These apes don't normally fight, but for some reason they did.
27 chimps attacked a group of 5 Gorillas. The Gorillas were forced to flee; however, it should be noted that the Silverback injured 3 chimpanzees by himself.

There were only 4 gorillas left. The chimps made a coordinated attack and abducted the youngest for a meal. Brains beats brawn. The chimps also made lunges to try and take the genitals off the Silverback, forcing him to spread out his attacks and not being able to land telling blows. Chimps know how to fight, Gorillas depend on their size and strength

On a side note: there is only one documented case of a gorilla killing a human. In the 1920s a safari guide went missing in the jungle - he was tracking a silverback. The search party followed the trail, first they found the guide's arm, then his head, and twenty feet away - the rest of his body. Some assembly required.

Not me. I hate chimps and would be just fine with them being hunted to extinction. I have heard too many horror stories of people getting their faces torn off or other forms of hideous and often fatal mutilation. Let the gorillas live, they are gentle for the most part but I want the chimps all gone from the world.

There’s a video out there about a new chimp war that has just started where apperantly 5 gorillas were able to hold off 20 or so chimpanzees. But I believe a baby gorilla did end up dying. I think that in itself answer the question to this video

It’s similar to Siberian tiger vs lion. One on one it’s likely the bigger, stronger animal wins. Though the gorilla probably wouldn’t kill the chimp, because they are simply trying to scare off predators from their pack. Chimps, on the other hand are viscous killers who use teamwork to attack.

Gorillas can be peacefull but absulutely can whoop bullies when necessary. I love them because of that.
Gorilla, they are too big and powerful but also have a decent level of dexterity and intelligence. That said a chimp is also strong and more dexterous and intelligent. A chimp might be able to pull something out of the bag by using it's terrain to it's advantage or a rock or pole as a weapon. If not, the Gorrilla just has too much physical prowess.

Both are fast on any surface. Able to climb like it's nothing. Very smart. One is shorter and weaker the other is tall and very powerful.
Whilst a gorilla undougtedly wins, the largest of the chimpanzees are certainly not to be sniffed at. They are also extremely powerful, very fast and much much more aggressive than the relatively peaceful gorillas and could certainly cause some damage in an encounter.

Having said that, Cougars/Pumas/Panthera concolor are bigger than leopards/Panthera pardus, and they have the strongest back legs of the big cat family (needed for their big jumps between cliffs). So no, a leopard wouldn't kick it's ass, and it's most likely a victory for the cougar, if it's between adult males.

Spinosaurus would win, it is faster than the elephant and cold easily push it over on its side, and claw or bite at it, if the elephant charges at it and hits its leg then it could be a game changer but I see the spino winning after a hard fight
Id say its more like putting a flyweight fighter vs a beyond super heavyweight powerlifter. The size and strength gap is way to massive even accounting for the large skill gap
@@gethype1908 lol, what spino are you basing it on, the JP3 one? The spino IRL was actually quite clumsy and not as fast or agile as the elephant. I doubt it could knock it over since the elephant was quadrupedal while the spino was bipedal with an awkward center of gravity. So if anyone of these creatures was gonna get knocked down, it would probably be the spino. The Spino's claws would deinatley deal some serious damage, and it's bite was on par with the saltwater croc's, but the elephant did have a stronger structure, more stability, and tusks. This fight would be a hard one to judge.

I think it would all depend on the chimps aggressiveness. Gorilla's seek a truce after a show of strength, but a chimp can be vindictive and relentless. Nonetheless, great commentary. :)

That's generally against other gorillas, and anything else it may decide isn't an immediate threat to their group. Anything that is considered a threat though, a silverback ain't backing down, and even the most aggressive chimp will get ragdolled.

No doubt on the gorilla, but in most cases Chimps can also fight in groups. Their entire family group of a community would react if one member was fighting many more would join the fray. Although a larger group of Chimps may not be capable of outright killing a Gorilla, they could injure it or make it retreat. In the wild Communities of chimps have been recorded fighting in groups against other communities.

a "small" correction using the findings of modern science: A chimp is pound for pound about 2 times as strong as a human or less and its bite force is similar to humans. Where would you get the 20x bite force number? How would that even be possible?
Edit: did some calculating because i have no life: 20 x human psi is on average about 2520 psi. This means according to this video the average chimp has a bite force almost twice as strong as a hippo and the third strongest bite force of all land animals right between an alligator and a saltwater crocodile.... seems sus...

Actually, if you watch a gorilla beat his chest, he does it with open palms to make a clapping sound. They generally don't beat their chests with their fists.

@@usmaniqbal9207 no it actually wouldn’t, the rhino is faster and more robust, has thicker skin and its horn would work more against the hippos soft skin, the hippo would try to bite the head of the rhino and when it does the rhino could attack the mouth

I love gorillas (chimps not that much). In TH-cam there are videos of two really beautiful silverback gorillas. Their names are Momotaro and Shabani, they live in Japanese zoos. In principle I'm against gorillas in zoos but they seem happy and get to live with their families.
I adopted Charles, the Silverback of the Umubano family for Christmas one year! I adore Gorillas!

A Gorilla only has a small sence of drive, they often start crying and feeling sorry for themselves, they also share there wifes with other gorilla gangs, basically they're kinda stupid animals, certain polices forces are using them for getting dangerous dogs out of people's gardens.

Mostly good information, but chimps are not 5 times stronger than humans. If they were then when leopard came after them the chimps would rip the to pieces. The idea that chimps are stronger the humans comes from tests to measure their strength which led to them breaking a lot of stuff. That isn't because they are stronger than us, it's because their aggression means they will push themselves harder with concern they will hurt themselves.
