I wanted to post a demo of the Titanium Easy Flux 125 from Harbor Freight and show it welding some 1/4" mild steel. I am very impressed with this little machine and can't believe how well it welds for the price. I like the fact that both the wire and contact tips are super cheap as well ($9 for for the contact tips and $15 for a roll of wire from Harbor Freight). This means I can always have a stockpile of extras ready to go for very cheap.
The reason we got this welder is because it can be used in places where our other welders cannot. This little machine can be run off a generator or a semi heavy duty extension cord making it usable just about anywhere. The other day we were building a rolling gate and needed to weld some galvanized pipe and brackets, but we had no 220v available for our other welders. We purchased this machine and were able to run it of a both a generator and extension cord without any issues at all.
If you're looking for the best 110v small flux cored welder this machine will work great!
I never welded before and needed a welder. I got this, watched some youtube videos and was welding in no time. I practiced on scrap metal and got pretty good at it. I love this welder! Now I look for things to weld, lol.
Lol Same as you doing same . Some stuff not broke but i reweld it, instead of bolt n nut heck just weld it
Haha practiced maybe 6inches if welding and did my project. Now im looking for problems where welding is the solution
The great thing about MIG welding is virtually anybody can do it! I retired from GM and sometimes someone wouldn't come to work for whatever reason and they had to put someone on the job that didn't know welding from knitting and in 10 minutes they were welding like a pro! The only problem I have ever had is with MIG welders that run on 120V I always needed a 30A breaker, what size breaker are you running yours on?
Cool
Hey I also want to do what you did. I have never even thought of welding before but I'd like to, and with this exact welder in this video.
Can you point me to a video that like... Talks baby basics about how to? Like, why you need a helmet, how to ground, etc?
Just bought this on a presents day sale yesterday for $169. Can’t wait to get started.
Bought one back on the discount table for $130.00 It was like new and had wire in it all ready to go...great deal
Have mine 1-1/2-2 years now still works great lot lot use. I updated mine to real good strong ground clamp and mine work great with US Forge wire from menards stores lot less splatter bb's
Got this over the weekend and absolutely love it. I haven't welded in 30 years and that was with a stick. Get it, you wont regret it - Easy to use and so much fun. This will be on sale next week 4/8/22-4/10/22 (Inside Track club 4/4/22) for $169.99 . Great deal on a Great welder!
Ty for the advice OG anymore tips. I plan on doing a 90cc exhaust for my daughters quad and possibly my own turbo G35 5at sedan once I get my valve covers.
I just Pay 214.99 at harbor freight 😒
@@Kyle_gallegher does it work on frame or rocker panels?
@@Sxvaqe-_- depends on the thickness but I've tried it out on mostly just mild 1/4- 1" steel and it seems to do a bad ass job im getting some some kick ass results at work. DIMES. My only gripe is I thought it could be used with the 225 outlets and it sadly cannot but it kicks ass running off just a geny in the dirt. Best results were with harbor frieght wire which I believe is made by Lincoln dis.
@@danielsand443 That price is ass bro ngl🤣 I paid tht after tax and warranty! Gotta catch the sales ☝
They are having a black Friday sale November 21 to November 28th 2022 and it is $169.00. After seeing this video I am getting one for myself. Thank you for sharing.
Picked one up last year finally guna get a plasma cutter the Lotos 5000D and get going on my 325 gallon smoker. I did make a few welds with it, made a few grill grates and it works like a champ.
They have em' on sale now til the end of the month for $149. I'm thinking about getting one, as it would be nice to be able to weld. Thanks for the video!
A BIG BLACK EYE FOR HARBOR FREIGHT
I have a Harbor freight TITANIUM FLUX 125 WELDER purchased from Harbor Freight a couple years ago. I am a retired plumbing contractor and backyard hobbyist. I love to build things in my spare time and help friends and neighbors that need something repaired. When I retired and closed my business, I had a stick welding machine but had no convenient place to connect it at my home! It would require an upgrade to my electrical service not worth the trouble and expense! When I saw a couple reviews on TH-cam for this Titanium 125 welder, I thought that would be the way to go. I already had a 110 Volt 30 Amp circuit to my workshop!
It took me a while to get adjusted to the flux wire welding. I built a minibike from scrap pipe I had left over from the plumbing shop. The welder allowed me to make other things and make repairs for others I wouldn’t be able to do without it.
In the middle of my last project, I cut a couple pieces of metal and got ready to weld them and when I pushed the button on the welder, nothing happened! It was dead! The fan did not come on but the light on the ON/OFF indicated there was power to the welder. I checked the manual for a reset button or a fuse and found no mention of either.
So, I called the Harbor Freight 800 number and was told there was no repair for this welder. Harbor Freight has no repair facility, and no support is available. I was told by two different tech reps there is no schematics or parts list available from the factory where this is manufactured. “It is not worth getting it repaired and cheaper to go purchase a new one!” If you purchase this welder or many other things from Harbor Freight You only have 3 Months Warranty. It is considered disposable after that!
All the reviews and discussion I have read about HARBOR FREIGHT I have never seen anything about their total lack of support for their products! I didn’t even get an “I’m sorry” or any offer for a discount on a new welding machine!
I am retired, was an electronics technician in the Navy, active Ham Radio operator and electronics hobbyist. I feel like the electronics in this welding machine is straight forward non computer controlled and any decent electronics tech should be able to repair this given reasonable support. I removed the circuit board from the welder and found where a small component burned of course not knowing the component value or purpose will make it difficult to replace. Providing a schematic and parts list is a very inexpensive form of support that should be a minimum requirement. Their claim to revenue of 7 Billion Dollars tells me they could afford it!

I’ve welded a bunch of stuff with mine . It’s a great little machine
Nice.. im not a pro welder at all...I seem to get best results when I "pull" the direction and at that little angle... thanks for posting...just bought it. very pleased as well.
I use this to build everything! With some anti spatter spray, and some anti spatter gel you can weld just as good as any welder.
I have the same welder. The chart is different on the inside lid. At 3/16" it is up to 10 on feed speed, but power only at F.5.
Added the improved ground clamp and using US Forge wire. (Thanks for those tips!) Works much better than expected. Excellent little tool for $170.
Way too overpriced in todays market!!!! I did weld a platform for a deee blind. Gun is sh*t. Bought a Hitbox for $80….lots smoother and welds hotter. Also does little stick welding. Hate the top load and consequently no handle. That stupid strap for carry. No body I’m their right mind pays close to $200 for an inverter of flux core welder with this quality today.
Hello , i have one i modified angle of gun . I desmantle gun , and remove the brass tube of gun and bend with Tube bender 3/8 , now angle for weld is most better . Good machine for the price , always 🙂👍🇵🇷🇵🇷
Interesting. You just answered my question. Thanks my man!

Ah yes Puerto Rican’s back at it again with their inventions 🤣🤣🤣 love it work at a performance/dyno shop learned so much working along side yall my goal is to one day go take a tour in the island itself
Purchased this little beauty at the June Parking Lot Sale this year for $150.00! Planning to do some minor repairs around the house and perhaps try some easy projects or help out a friend or two and more importantly have a little fun.
Have mine 1 1/2- 2 years still works great but hoping for big sale around Christmas and buy another put away for spare
If you run a root1/2 on each side of the gap basically straddling the gap then run two stringers on each side of that bead and then weave in a little small cap that weld would hold forever. So a root two stringers and a cap
Used stick welder in metal shop in high school but that was in 1987, lol, only remember you went in little circles with sticks, can the welders out there tell me if you go in circles with flex core welding? Thanks
Thanks for sharing this with us. Now I just have to wait for another sale, since they were sold out at all the local stores when it was $159.
I just bought one and the sale price was $179. You did good.
On sale right now! $169.
I had one for five monthes or so, then one day it just made a loud bang and it was dead. It made a good little welder while alive. So I had to upgrade to the 140. Get the warranty and keep receipt.
What did you do with the T125,? they are easy to repair and parts readily available from HF
@@shermanyoung8185 I return it for an upgrade to the T140. Its started to smoke after it pop. The 140 seems to be better tho. I about to get the plasma they make.
@@thomasmosqueda4337 that was a good move ,let us know how you like the plasma cutter, I read some good reviews on it, but it seems a little pricey ,just my opinion
Did you use it a lot? I’ve had mine for 11 months and haven’t had any issues but I don’t use it much
@@F12-i2g yes used it all the time and still do great little machine.
Everyone should be able to do fabrication. I learned in highschool mig tig stick brazing I've done all my repairs since. My last welder shit the bed so I just bought this welder to do a little body repair on my Jeep. Appreciate the review!
Can I use this kit to weld aluminum?
@@EASTCAMDEN4LIFEHarbor frieght sells a spool gun for aluminum welding that connects to the Titanium brand mig welders gor about 170 dollars. They work good
Question, why does it use a 20 amp receptacle when the manual says it draws 23 amps? Shouldn't this use a 30 amp RV plug?
Liked the video! I wish you guy that video welding would try shooting thru a welding glass so we can see the weld as you make it, (if that is possible). Shooting without anything is wasted of video, I just skip ahead anyway. Again, I did like the video and thanks.
I have one, and my weld sure does not look that bad, heis working tip, you should just trag the tip slowly. Been weld 45 years, retired but still weld, this machine is great. I
Great video. Thanks for a good simple review of an entry level machine
I want to point out a welders moto if it slags you musta drag your pushing the slag back into your weld when your pushing your puddle causing porosity and other nasties.
Seems that you are pushing the weld with flux core, supposed to drag the weld to prevent slag to be trapped by the weld pool.
He may be used to dual shield. You can push the wire pretty good. I've welded and passed xrays on ships.
Nice. New to this. Appreciate the video. Been wanting to get into this and I grab this machine tomorrow. Reason for buying extra tips or when to replace? What type of machine or what are you looking for to get this cleaner welds?
Interesting. For Flux Core, you are supposed to drag not push as you were doing even in your first example.
I just picked it up for $169 today Black Friday
I bought my welder used for $60 but I had used my friends titanium 125 before. I like it. haha. Cannot go wrong for the $60. haha. so good.
can you turn down the power on this so that I can weld thinner metals? Like 1/8 thickness? I used O&A in high school.. but I have a car project - a shock absorber modification.. And the metal is thinner. And I cannot use O&A due to convenience at my apartment a garage
I have the same issue...maybe if we get enough feedback we can get them to make the whip flex head!
They accidentally priced this 125 easy flux for $119 at my harbour freight, normally its $209 w/o or $179 w/ membership. Manager gave me the mistake price :)
They haven't offered any deal for members since I've started lol
$99 tomorrow
@@sociopathmercenaryyup why I’m watching this video I’m getting one in the am hopefully
With flux core, you need to pull the welder instead of pushing it, since there's no shielding gas.
I routinely use mine to weld up forge press dies (1/2 inch shapes to 1/4 plate) - holds under 26 tons press, but I weld a much better bead than that :)
Are you using a circular motion?
Are you making figure eights?
What is the minimum amperage application in
for home use .. I want to use it for little repairs
How many amps was your 120V outlet? 15 Amp or 20 Amp breaker?
What made you decide to get that one over the Chicago electric welder?
I just picked this welder up today. The Chicago welder dosent have all the speed control and the amp control like the titanium dose. There is just a hi/ low toggle switch on the Chicago so you can't fine tune the settings
No expert here, but....... Flux core produces slag. The rule of thumb is "if it slags, drag." So......... The welds will be cleaner if you draw the tip away from the start point not pushing it along.
Also because it produces slag you really should be knocking the slag off the welds prior to brushing.
Again, not an expert. But I have been welding with stick and mig flux core for about 10 years fully self taught or taught by cool neighbors...........
You said it worked off of a generator?
Hi, I’m planning to buy this one but I wanna know if how many amp the outlet should it be for this one to plug in?
20
Just a question on your angled comment. Are you left handed? Also. awesome video. Thank you.
It opened up because you didn't tack it but not bad for you just beggining good job
Would this work on regular house outlet?
I believe the welder would need to be the ONLY thing on that house outlet circuit.
What metals can I use. It burns right through my aluminum
Your welds look good. What weave pattern did you use to lay the weld? Thanks
I am with you. Having grown up in a farming community that is plent effective cheap and quick. Now, where did you get the vise?
It’s a Wilton Hi Vis model. Anywhere that sells Wilton products. I do believe this not a domestic made Wilton but I could be wrong.
Have you ever hit the duty cycle and this welder shut down?
Do they sell liners? If you know.
I just found one on marketplace for 70 dollars. Im going to try to learn to weld.
Love the color of the Titanium welders! I can tell by looking at the weld that it blows my Lincoln Weld-Pack10949 away.
A wire wheel on an angle grinder would get all that flux off and make the weld look more comparable to a gas mig.
Although my Lincolns weld pac has been a life saver for setting up in the bed of my dump truck and welding cracks in the bed where the liner has worn thin at the underlying cross member supports.
So new to welding here but why all the splatter and any way to avoid it?
the wire is coated with flux in order to protect the actual weld when cooling, mig and tig use gas instead of flux. there's no way to avoid it with stick and flux core welding but it's easy to clean off with a chipping hammer
What should the settings be if your welding 1/4" T joint ?
Can I make a wrought iron fence? Or gate?
Forney and yeswelder wire is what my titanium runs the best with. Way better than hf wire.
What size of circuit brakes does this welder have to have? Will 20 Amp. braker work?
Yes. A GFCI outlet for added protection.
What causes the splatter? Little balls of metal? Is it because he's welding without gas?
Anybody know what size breaker I need to supply power to this thanks
I have the same welder, but i need to practice more. Im a beginner. My dad got a small gas generator. Do you know if the welder will work? I haven't try it yet cause i dont have experience using it
How little is little lol
I would imagine you would need a decently powerful generator to run even a small welder
Its about the size of a 3 gallon gasoline container
@@misterioso2735 I doubt it then, you’ll have to look up how much power the welder uses and how much the generator can output. Or you can just try. Can’t really hurt anything
I've run a Speedway fluxcore on low just fine with a 3500 Watt UST generator, however on Hi starting is difficult. Runs the little Chicago Electric 80 Amp DC stick awesome.
What are your settings at
Seems like your pushing instead of dragging.
Was going to say the same thing. 👍🏼
Yeh you drag flux core you push mig, just Saying.
Yep "If it's slag you drag"
I should have read some comments before posting mine.
Yeah, I noticed that too.
thanks for the review, I’m sold! lol

Where at lol

I typed in aluminum welder on google and this machine popped up. Anyone have experience with the process? If so, is it reliable? Any tips?
So no argon gas needed to weld with this machine?
No just use self shielding wire
Flux core
4th of july coupon?
Can it weld aluminum?
It’s 159 right now I’m getting one in the morning
Coupon still valid?
Aren't you you supposed to drag when you're welding flux core? Slag/drag?
What do I set it on for welding mufflers and exhaust pipes?
Get a metal thickness gauge an look on your machine. It has the recommended settings inside under the hood
Is on-sale again until July 31
110 amp or 220
Gotta let er drag w the Flux core. Still looks decent. If there's slag let er drag.
And don't whip
If it has slag you drag. Dunno why he's pushing the weld
Can anyone answer my question: can you weld stainless steel (forks, spoons, utensils) with this welder?
They do made fluxcore wire for stainless, so I would assume so.
No with this one. You need to get the professional one
Can you use the Titanium on a 1" diameter notched round tubular stainless steel ? If so what should the settings be so it won't burn thru.
What size tip ? 30 or 35
I just bought one of these welders and my weld setting chart is way different than yours. 1/8th 030 on mine is wire speed 10 and voltage E.5
Its 169$ on sale now. 16 april
Rule #1: If there is slag, you drag.
I thought that if there's slag you drag. You seem to be pushing.
Sorry U being bashed. Good Review!
now get titanium and titanium wire that fits and test the titanium weld, the steal weld is the same as normal... thats why i told them to make them, just needed an afordable welder for titanium for a space ship, didnt ask for royalties...
what kind of portable generator could run this ?
how many watts would you need ?
would the Predator 9000 be able to handle this
think its actually 7500 continuous
A 3500 watt generator could run this!
You do know they sell wire wheels that fit on GRINDERS
RIGHT????
I have that WELDING MACHINE its GREAT
Good morning you need to drag that wire it’s a flux core that’s the wire version of a stick welder. You look like your mig welding those techniques will not work with a innershield wire. Just so you know. Plus that weld is way over size for the diameter of wire your using.
What else do you know
You can get a pack of 40 tips for $15 on Amazon
Good now I can weld the George Washington Bridge with that!!!!
3/6/22- on sale for $170.00
Considering that this is 2 years old, beginners may still reference it. First off - terrible welding procedure! A rule of thumb (for good reason) is; if there is slag, you must drag. Two issues with the weld right off the bat are that he's using a push technique and not allowing the puddle to wet out. Regarding weld gun angle; positioning is up to the weldor no matter who's gun you use. With proper technique and a little patience you'll do way better than this novice display of improper use.
Maybe try using a grinder to clean up but that seems like a pretty decent welder
San u break the weilds with that wilton? If not its what I need

Looks great , I'm going to get one !
