Here's two videos of that playing: th-cam.com/video/2X1Vbq-Jw-k/w-d-xo.html - This is a different version without a changeable cylinder that only plays 4 melodies. Nonetheless, the mechanism is exactly the same. th-cam.com/video/J3VimH1VALU/w-d-xo.html - Not a complete video but it is the exact same music box except in a different finish.
I had about eighty , I had started Collecting in mid fifties ! Made a big mistake I allowed an Auctioneer to sell them about 2 years ago,, Check Out any Auctioneer that you allow to sell your Music Box collection , Some are Dishonest , I was to trusting , but I am now 88 , Korean war veteran
Some of the 18 note Reuge movement music boxes can be found in thrift stores and antique stores for pretty low prices. I have about twenty of them and two are Anri music boxes.
Music box is toys for rich people. It plays only a small part of a song, but it costs you a lot of bucks. There is almost no music box can play a full song in the world.
@@jacoswan3719 Thank you very much, Jaco, but I think Rolex watches hold value much more than CASIO watches because of their design, material, and craftsmanship. Besides Rolex is an investment for rich people too. Time is not their concern. I am telling the truth about the imperfection and disability of a music box, but the creation of the music box did come from a genius idea which I appreciate very much. Some high-end music box sellers are not happy with my opinion.
@@chainleigh3025 You can't compare a music box to an MP3 or a live orchestra. Their purpose isn't to play songs like a jukebox. Nobody decides between a music box and an mp3. That's like saying Ferraris are imperfect because a tradesmen can't fit all their tools in the back.
Thank you for featuring Reuge.
Beautiful artwork
Amazing!
I need to see that play at 3:41
Edit: Here you go th-cam.com/video/xc8AB5zaWHc/w-d-xo.html
Thank you
Great job producing this.
I was hoping to hear the one with the drums and bells to be played for us.
This is the problem with tv like videos, they never show us the good stuff.

Yes, the same way a $50 Casio watch can keep time better and more reliably then a $100,000 Rolex.
