I really recommend a GoPro Hero Black for this type of video. I use a 7 Black, but the 5 and 6 Black models also have the mode I use, which is 2.7k Linear mode. It’s overkill on the resolution because TH-cam is going to be either 720p or 1080o, but the extra pixels allow you to run a stabilization in the video editor. And the Linear mode, which is available only in the 2.7k resolution keeps walls and other straight surfaces and objects nicely square. Other wide angle modes will round the edges of the video frame. The Linear mode is applying a real time software algorithm to eliminate the curvature of the GoPro’s very wide angle, almost fisheye lens. So that mode saves me time and the cost of software to eliminate the curvature in post-production. Another típ, and this can be applied to any gear you use, is to go very slow in revealing the space. Too many of this type of apartment showing video have the camera moving around the space violently, like a baboon swinging a cat. Point the camera at something and talk about it, then move your whole body when you’re done speaking about that aspect, keeping the camera facing forward. The whole place will get shown by the end of the video. Not sure if any of that is interesting to you but in case anyone else is interested those are my thoughts on making your video smooth.
Vietnam is open now, but you will need to quarantine for two weeks upon entry to the country. At your own expenses in a selection of approved accommodations.
Good video and good apartment. While it is not expensive compared to Sai Gon and Ha Noi, it is still amazing to see how expensive rents in the country have become.
I don’t have any personal experience of rental history, this being my first time living in Vietnam. I came to Saigon in January after living in The Philippines for over two years, where rents in comparable apartments are even higher. But I’ve heard others express the same reaction; that rents were previously much lower. Talking to a few rental agents I’m told the rents on in the main town, back across the bridges, can be significantly lower. Maybe I’ll plan some apartment tours to show what can be found at lower prices. Stay tuned...
@@CarlWithACamera That would be really cool and helpful if you can also do videos of any apartments across the bridge. I wonder if it is also quieter in the main town. Where is the construction busiest? I'm guessing there is less construction across the bridge but I am not in Viet Nam at the moment . Enjoy and thanks again for the helpful videos.
@@musicman6759 Theres definitely a lot of construction on the beach side. I recently head description from another expat; she called it a war zone. Certainly there's a concern for construction noise for anyone teaching online or otherwise needing a quiet space.
Thanks, Bill. These are fairly easy videos to make. And informative. I recall watching a lot of this type of video before I came out to SE Asia nearly three years ago. Great for planning to be able to see the living standard that can be had at various price levels. I’ll do some more to show the full range of price levels.
I paid 4.2 million vnd in Saigon for a two-inch mattress topper. You can see at the end if my video on shipping my bike that I also shipped the mattress pad and some other household goods from Saigon up to Da Nang when I moved up here at the end of March. I’d die without that cushion!
@@CarlWithACamera I didnt even think about a matress topper. I just looked them up and noticed you can get good memory foam ones which would have been perfect for me. I ended up spending 8.9 million VND for a bloody mattress that i ended up leaving at my old apartment because once you take it out of the vacuum sealed plastic its a nightmare to transport. You live and you learn! haha

@@CarlWithACamera great give us guys ideas where to stay.nice place it's like close to everything .How's the weather in Vietnam?
Very nice new place and the price is great I just wish they had a oven or a toaster oven.
I picked up a toaster oven for 350,000vnd, about $15. It’s been working fine for 4 months.
How far to the beach ? Thx !
Just a couple minutes walk. Very close.
The beds in VN annoy the life out of me 😂 Rock hard. I replaced mine with a memory foam the first week

For a brand new building, the styling is kinda dated. But nice.
Well done
