Thank you for this! I'm a relatively new wood worker and just starting with bees as well. This video was exactly what I needed to sort out the hand holds. I obviously had to change little things here and there to fit my old saw, but the basic design is yours.
Thanks for posting such a helpful video. I have watched both of your videos on cutting handles and I found them very helpful toward making the jig. It now takes me about 30 seconds per handle and they look infinitely more professional. Keep up the good work and God bless.

I much prefer this jig for moving the workpiece against the saw rather than alternatives I've seen using a Circular saw moving the saw against the workpiece. Just got to make sure you have the depth right - don't want the blade piercing the other side just as you had your hand over the cutting area.
great great video. how far from the left edge of the "BEE BOARD" should one afix the left rail? In your next video you say to position the STOP ~12 inches from the blade, " to give 1 1/2" from the end". Did you mean to say 1 3/4" from the top of the handhold?
Walter Hicks Walter, I have a hard time figuring out how to reply to people on youtube. You asked for my plans and I do not have any plans. I watched a couple of videos and then started from scratch and built it. I actually have a new one that now that is easier to setup. I leave on vacation tomorrow so I don't have time to take pictures and get you measurements. The thing is, your table saw would have to be the same size for the measurements to work. I will be back the end of January and will try to get something done then.

From a youtube video I watched I found out that the front board in the jig is 3 1/2" with a 15 degree angle cut in it and the side boards are 14" long. The rest I made to fit the sides of my hive boxes. I have a new jig made now that I need to make a new video of. I am going to be out of town for the next 3 weeks so won't be able to do it until I get back. I will try to give more measurements this time.

This is the simplest set up I've seen so far.
Nice work, one thing i like about the table saw it has a bigger blade than the circular saw and makes a little bit wider handle

FYI. U only cut a little bit at a time. Once my handles are 4.5" wide I quit.

hi can you confirm what sort of blade you used? was that dado? can you provide specs of blade? thanks in advance

There is no under cut at all that I can see. If you tilt the blade to 30 degrees, you will get an under cut of 15 degrees which is slip proof.

Takes too long. I prefer hand holds versus finger holds
My husband uses these plans from Woodprix and is very happy with them. However. I love yours!
