Ahhhh, the days of listening to the cassette and flipping through the pages back in 1st grade
words can’t express how happy i am that you posted this. Tailypo was my favorite book when i was 5-6. i absolutely love spooky things, my mom is huge on horror/scary stuff so naturally, i gained an immense interest and love for such things. this lady and her “scratch, scratch.. scratch” and the way she says “Tailypo” was ingrained into my brain. i loved this audio cassette so much. THANK YOU for giving me a piece of my childhood back. much love 🫶🏻
Dude you have no idea how long I’ve been wanting to hear this again. Now I can share it with my younger relatives
This!!! This is it!!! The recording that haunted my childhood nightmares!!! I couldn’t sleep with the window open for literal years after hearing this in the first grade!!! I can’t believe I was able to find it fifteen years later!!! Ah, thank you so much for posting this!!!

I remember this audio.
Scared the living hell out of me as a kid and I finally found it again.
I have been looking EVERYWHERE for this version. Thank you so much for sharing. This delightfully terrified me as a child.
I can't believe this was my favobook as a kid
This gave 7 year old me nightmares for months. Thank you for uploading this
No problem glad to share this version. :)
I’ve never heard this version but my librarian read this to us in elementary school and it scarred me for life lol I also live in the south in the mountains so as a kid it always felt like it was there. I used to imagine it peaking over the edge of my bed and it’s glowing eyes lol definitely my favorite story
It is so hard to find this version for some strange reason but this is the exact version I’m looking for too. Nice and scary compared to the rest!
They should make a creature feature horror movie about the Tailypo
Thank you for this!! I remember being scared to fall asleep as a kid having listened to the story just before bedtime
I’ve finally found it after 20 years of not having it! This, and so many other books from the Clarion carry-along audiobooks, that I listened to in grade 4.
Thank you! This is the version we've been searching for!
You're very welcome
I had a dream of hearing this story on Halloween night.
I listened to a different version by David Holt as a kid. Scared me like crazy. Now my 4 year old asks to listen to it at bedtime. 😅
I read that story it's one of my favorites and I also like the scary story Skin and Bones.
This wasn't the version I was looking for, but this was very nice to hear
I love and hate this story sm thank you for reposting
THANK YOU I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR THIS
No problem glade to help ^-^
They brought a fiddler to school to retell the story with musical accompaniment. Horrifying.
