I'm a chocolate girl from VA, I started doing eBay in 2020 when COVID hit, because the Salon closed temporarily, I'm grateful for you and the Cincinnati picker because of y'all TH-cam channel I started... continue blessings to you and your family. Stay encouraged. What God has for me is for me .
Just from watching other resellers, I made my biggest sale ever! It was buying sewing machine parts, which I never would have picked up. So, we started picking them up here and there, made some smaller sales and then I had a few that I hadn't researched and were set aside a few months. So, I completely shocked when I looked up this attachment for a Singer Sewing Machine (Early 1900's Singer Rare Two Thread Embroidery Attachment #35505) and it was worth over $1500 and sold for $1550. I got it in a box of sewing items for $20 and sold many other things also in that box. It looked like junk to the people running the Estate Sale. I messaged that Creator and thanked him because that is the only reason why I got that item.
The 80’s is the best decade! Love your videos Kevin. I am terrible at selling clothing-not sure why! I did those things you talked about. I bought Tupperware, hats, Hawaiian shirts, cassette tapes, board games, etc. and it was terrible for me. Now, I have learned a ton more and am patient about my selections. If something seems like a great deal, I pause, take a deep breath, and most of the time talk myself out of it. I have found that being more selective has really helped my store. Thanks to you sharing this info and being transparent.
I picked up a hat last week at a local thrift that was having a half off all clothing sale. It was a Harley Davidson, but looked kinda plain to me, and honestly would have probably left it had it been the original $6 instead of $3. Long story short, it was a rare vintage trucker hat that sold next day for $135! Never skip the hat rack!
I sold a really cool piece of orange vintage Tupperware last night. It had only been listed a few hours. I cleared $7 on it. I had only bought it a few hours before I listed it. I have about 15 minutes in the whole process. That’s double the money I make at my regular job. My signature item nets me $5 for each purchase. Someone said they wouldn’t bother with anything for $5. Well, in November alone I cleared $200 on that one item, selling it over and over, sometimes selling more than one on volume discount. My first investment on this item was $250. I thought it would take 2 years to pay off. It only took six weeks! So I might be a bit more careful on little items in the future because shipping is so high, but I’m not going to have some kind of monetary limit because sometimes a I can make more selling several small things than trying to stay above some arbitrary limit. Besides, I find all of this fun. It’s my entertainment as well as my side hustle. When spring rolls around and I can have a garage sale, I will eliminate a few items that don’t make financial sense to leave on eBay, and maybe I will get a few bucks out of it.
This has been the best video you have done. What you said about space and don't buy more if the bin is already full, unless you know it will sell quick and you only pay $1, was exactly what i needed to hear.
One person's trash is another person's treasure! At the start of my reselling journey I was buying everything. Now I try to buy only items that will sell for 25+. We all have different styles and obviously what you are doing works well for you. Happy New Year to you and your family! Thanks for the video!
My Go 2 Tape 70’s was my favorite decade. I’m an everything reseller, part-time. I started in May and it’s been going quite well! I learn something from every TH-cam reseller I watch-there’s something you can take away from everyone!
Meanwhile those same people are going to work everyday to a job they hate. Most of the time I buy for profit but other times I buy because it brings back memories. I just sold 2 Marlboro cordaroy hats I bought for $2 for $90.
My go 2 tape - I’m an everything seller and I love selling hats! My price point is 10-15 usually on eBay. Say what you want but they are easy to sell and ship!
I love learning about other reseller’s models & methods. I mainly resell clothing and my inventory system has been putting the items in numbered bags and then into bins sorted by #range. I put the bag # in the SKU field of my listings. It’s worked very well. BUT, after watching this video I’m going to start labeling my bins by type of item instead of # range. I will keep the numbered bags but now I’ll be able to easily see which category I’m at capacity. Then I can slow down buying in that area. Makes so much sense & much easier than sorting listings etc. Thanks for your great content!
Dave picked up glass fruit. I know he got reamed for it. The next week I hit a sale that they were $1 each. I bought them all and the first one put me back to profit and up $100. I'm working on passing a good deal. I have to stop picking up banners, some move though and if I find them again I will.
My Go 2 Tape My FAVORITE decade is the 80's. I'm stuck there 😂 I looove the stuff you pick. I get so excited when I see you have a new video up of picking. People saying you pick 'junk' are crazy. Just look at your success and the things you sell. Keep doing you Kevin as I know you will. 😊😊
My go 2 tape My impression is that the longer you do this, the more niched down or specialized you get (plenty of exceptions of course…you being one of them). I started to realize after several years that I really enjoy ephemera and abhor the idea of cleaning hats (or shoes or clothes). Now I give little thought to a yard sale or estate sale unless there appears to be a reasonable possibility of picking up paper or photos.
I have picked up a tote of hats with most "junk". But the price was so cheap it was more time effective to buy it all then to sort through them while garage sale shopping. When I get home I cherry pick then sell the entire left over lot on FB Marketplace for what I paid. To date this has not failed me. I don't sell on other platforms except Ebay. So I have to keep that in mind when buying large amounts of anything. I understand your method I use a similar on a smaller scale. Peace and Good Health
My go 2 tape. Keep them coming. This is my season for listing items that I set aside for winter as we have cold weather here and will be at least till march before yard sales/ flea markets start up. 2025 has been a good year so far with a few tweets that I got from some of your back videos. It is my goal to watch your old videos while listing as that gives me a good 1/2 hr. of constant listing. :)
You keep doing what you're doing. I love your videos. I've recently started selling on eBay. I live in a small farming town. So, if I can find a little of everything, I will.
Congrats on all your sales Kevin🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉! That sweater was like dajavoo my moms uncle brought her back the Almost the identical one from Norway years ago in the late 60’s I believe when he was skiing for the Olympics-For Real! And she just found it about 4 MTHS ago so right away I knew it was from Norway! Amazing Sweater! Awesome everything congrats! Love your show! Happy New Year to you and your entire families, Kel🐒🫶💜🇺🇸🙏
My go 2 tape. I picked up a Waring Pro Belgium waffle maker shortly after watching one of jride's video's. I paid approximately $13 at Goodwill and sold it for 175, it was fun packing it to ship 😊.
I agree, Kevin. I think the main takeaway is everyone typically has their niche. My latest thing has been higher- priced , large/ bulky items, VERY time & material- consuming to ship, but the net profit margins on these items have been between 200 and 500%. For me, spending 2 hours to pack up 1 sale is worth it when the net profit alone from that sale is over $200. As a bonus, my reviews have been stellar- with most of them mentioning phenomenal packaging. ( I pack a lot of heavy/ breakable stuff) The only difficult part is baking shipping materials into the cost.
Your favorite decade 80s Tee. Definitely my favorite and my favorite history teacher was is Mr Easley. Please do More videos giving advise is my favorite and when you share history. Perhaps a history story or tip each video❤
The 80's decade by far the best, especially musically. I've even raised my kids to appreciate all the best of the 80s. My granddaughter's favorite Hanukkah gift this year was her rock & roll denium concert jacket covered in patches of all her favorite 80s bands. My Go 2 Tape has been a game changer this winter, it still works great while the other tapes won't stick when it's cold.
GREAT video! I view every purchase and flip through the lens of how much I make per hour. It is a great approach to evaluate the worth of your most valuable resource, time…
My Go 2 Tape The best decade 70's I have over 85 hats that I am going to go through to let go from my personal collection, hopefully they will be worth a little. Some are from my Brothers old workplace and these were never sold to the public.
I like to go to a sale and find one item that’s great example an item that I can make 30 dollars on and then buy a 30 dollars worth of decent items which in theory would be free / all profit once I sel the great item
Hi Kevin. I love your model, too. We sell on eBay in addition to our regular jobs, and I do understand that we are able to make different purchasing decisions than many because reselling is not our sole source of income. Our kids are grown and we really enjoy going to estate sales and auctions and thrifting to find mostly vintage things to resell - the sourcing piece of the process is definitely a hobby and a way that we spend time together. It’s fun to find things that we remember from our childhood! Anyway, I think those who criticize don’t remember that there are people who are still looking to buy these nostalgic items but can’t or won’t do it in person for a variety of reasons. I frequently pick up things that even my husband will say “Are you really going to buy that?!” - which makes me crazy 🤪- and he just shakes his head when the things he questions me on sell within a short time 😂. Especially if I can get it for a good price, I definitely buy what I like even if sell-through isn’t the greatest and it’s worked pretty well thus far. We’re also relatively early on in the reselling game, so sometimes I will pick more unusual things up as part of my learning process and almost as a challenge to myself to see if I can sell them (I do all of the listing). Favorite decade is by far the 80’s. My Go 2 Tape 😊
I have been at this for 40 years. Last month I tried something that normally seemed a bit scary. I did one day auctions every day on ebay. $1 insertion fee. I started everything at $9.99. I had 91% sell through. This month I am trying to list daily and then on Sunday no matter how long something has been listed, put it in to auction for a week. This idea is to see if I can get max "comp" before I put it into auction while not having to pay for the $1 insertion fee which hopefully will lead to more money. This also allows watchers of the BIN price know it was listed in auction. So far so good. Keep in mind you need desireable items. If you have items less than desireable think about making lots. That's what I do with the items that do not sell unless of course I feel like the right person just has not seen it yet. We shall see.
My Go 2 Tape! I love the 80’s but I came into my own in the 90’s, so that is my favorite. There are many different business models out there. McDonald’s sells $5 hamburgers. Ruth’s Chris sells $75 steaks. Which is the more successful company? Yesterday at a thrift store I bought a $2 book that will sell for $75. On the way out I grabbed an item out of the free bin. Posted it for $5 plus shipping and it sold in less than a day. Took me a minute to list and a minute to package. I’ll get that $5 now but I may have to sit on that book for a year. Both items will put money in my pocket.
I learned about grading Pokemon cards after watching The Aussie Flipper and realizing I had the same charizard card he had and it would be worth a lot more by getting it graded.
Went to the bins in my state for the first time. 57 items for 53$. Pulled out 4 items I knew would sell and sold all 4 the 53$ has been covered. The rest is profit. Like u said Kev grab the ones that sell for sure then smaller amounts on the rest
I used to fix suit jackets with droopy linings, gowns with missing beads. Pfft. Unless it's something that will get me a couple hundred bucks I don't do that any more. I sold some without repairs, but few are looking for projects. And with the new rating filters coming up I really don't think it will be worth it.
Hey brother, awesome videos, I've learned so much also quit corporate live for freedom. PRO TIP get a stool to use when packing, it saves lots of energy and the back to flip more!
Btw, after your video on returns a few days ago, I had three returns over two days. I haven’t had a return in two years. And I’m so part time! One I am sure is a scam, and I made a report to eBay about it.
My Go 2 Tape. I don’t know if I have a favorite decade. I’ve lived through 8 now, and they all have their selling points. However, the ‘70s had the best music.
Great sales Kevin 👍 I've just looked up that fella people think you look like {I'd never heard of him} but yeah you do , it's not a bad thing either 🙂🇬🇧
I have a Lotta Tupperware I would love to get rid of. Yes, not plastic containers Tupperware. I hate it when people refer to plastic containers as Tupperware. That is my pet peeve. These people are out picking whether it’s at Goodwill or a yard sale and they’ll call anything that’s plastic and a container Tupperware. I just picked up a piece the other day at Goodwill for not very much money. I don’t think I even paid two bucks for it now I might’ve paid 299. I don’t remember it is a cute little tiny miniature container. I think it’s like a pint or something. This thing is so adorable and in great condition definitely vintage. I mean they don’t go for a whole bunch of money and I’m not on eBay. I’m just doing local market place but I don’t have to ship it. That’s my pet peeve right now is the things that I need to get rid of I’m not willing to get into the shipping thing. I’m only selling about 50 or $60 a week on marketplace but I guess it’s a start.
Kevin, I'll start by saying, I appreciate your videos. I think i watch them all. I've been reselling along time. Yet i learn new stuff all the time from you. But your problem, is you overly care what other people think. And i understand you can't/shouldn't alienate your audience. But honestly, if what you're doing works for you, great. And yes, its helpful when you buy a "junk" item that you tell us why you do it... that way new people learn not to do that themselves. But trying to please everyone... or justify why you do something, etc. It's not needed. You're a teacher, teach us. But stand behind your choices. Don't give people the time of day that talk trash... unless you're arguing in the comments just to get the views up, then okay, whatever. But I hope you're internally satisfied with what you do. That's what's important. You will never make 100% of the people happy, never. Plus some people just suck! And im pretty sure their daily job, is to see how many people they can successfully troll in 1 day! 😂 Take it as a badge of honor!
I understand and thank you for watching. I truly don’t care. I use the debate and the comments to try to move people towards what will make them both profitable and happy.
I like TH-camrs showing off their hot selling luxury finds, but your picks are realistic gets for the rest of us and I appreciate it.
Yes!!!

I agree, Kevin. I think the main takeaway is everyone typically has their niche. Actually, I overestimated the shipping on that free item and made $8 profit off it! 😅
My go 2 tape and 80’s was my favorite decade. Even though I was too young to enjoy it.
I learned about grading Pokemon cards after watching The Aussie Flipper and realizing I had the same charizard card he had and it would be worth a lot more by getting it graded.
My go 2 tape. Great content! God Bless!!
Good morning Kevin!! My go 2 tape
Went to the bins in my state for the first time. 57 items for 53$. Pulled out 4 items I knew would sell and sold all 4 the 53$ has been covered. The rest is profit. Like u said Kev grab the ones that sell for sure then smaller amounts on the rest
As an 80s baby, the 0's are my favorite Decade.
Really liked that glass piece.
My Go2Tape - I am always looking for a Jewish Mother hat - it was a Virginia Restaurant where my kids worked. Thanks for the helpful information.
My Go 2 Tape, love your shows.
Rob Dyrdyck is younger, so it is HE that looks like YOU 😂. My Go 2 Tape 😊
Of course the 80’s is the greatest decade
My Go 2 Tape ~~ Another great video.
I love flannel shirts!❤😊❤
I used to fix suit jackets with droopy linings, gowns with missing beads. Pfft. Unless it's something that will get me a couple hundred bucks I don't do that any more. I sold some without repairs, but few are looking for projects. And with the new rating filters coming up I really don't think it will be worth it.
Aww I loved that little fan!
I sometimes see myself using a Steam iron just ironing blouses and shirts to resell...;)
My Go 2 Tape . Great advice as always .
Like Disco ?😅
Keep the tips coming, Thanks!
My Go 2 Tape.my favorite decade is the 80's
Restraint is not my forte. LOL My Go 2 Tape and the only Decade is the 60's, with the 70's a close second.
My favorite decade 80’s !
80s my favorite!❤😊❤
My go 2 tape and 80s was my favorite decade
