    I got the bad experience for the same crash bar last month when my bike collapsed at stopping condition, the rear bar position touches the engine head cover slightly unbelievable! it caused right side rear head cover screw distorting and oil leaking happens.
    I think the reason is the gap between the bar and engine head cover is too much short at 1.5 cm only which can't provide enough buffer distance when bar impacted by bike collapses on the ground to touch the cover easily because of the steel elastic deformation even the bolts are in correct torque.
    That is why others brands crash bars (SW Motech, Rizoma, etc) made more space between bars and head cover than Wunderlich's, I think. Please pay attention on it bro.

      To remove old hardware you'll need: Torx T55 and 18mm socket. For Install 19mm socket, Hex 10, Hex 8. Good luck and thanks for watching.

      @@rwolfhaus1234 I torqued the main bolt/nut ( 2:05 ) to 100 Nm as a Haynes manual calls it "Front bolt/nut". But Wunderich manual says to torque M12 screw with nut up to 64 Nm. Like I say , I torque mine to 100 Nm. Just make sure to coat it with some anti seize.

    Does anybody knows if this model of crash bars fit with the original bmw alluminum head protectors??

    • @gamotur
      @gamotur  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The space between the engine and crash bars is about 6-7 mm (1/4 inch) in the tightest place. You have to measure these head protectors but it can be tight.

    • @gamotur

      OEM bolts don't have it ,so just torque it to a spec. So far bolts didn't move.

    Amazing how that engine mount bolt just slid right out for you...nobody I know in person or on my nineT discussions forums managed to do that without a major struggle!. Obviously that isn't the first time you did the bar install...so can you tell us how the first time was? Most people have a hard time even getting the nut off but I can't for the life of me pull that bolt out.

    • @gamotur
      @gamotur  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It was my first time with R9T :) Bolts came out easy, maybe because the bike was brand new. I add copper anti seize for future. I had trouble adding crash bars to my Super Tenere but BMW was easy.

    • @ThatKa5p3r
      @ThatKa5p3r 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@gamotur doubt it would help if I can't get the oil all the way thru it, it's a long bolt. I'll let the dealer handle it when I take it in for the 500 mile service. This thing isn't quite as DIY as others claim, fighting me on literally everything I try to bolt on, getting wrong kits from after market sellers, conflicting fitment & wiring advice, etc. Apparently there was a bit of random changes on this year's Scrambler.
