Ugh, messed up one detail: When you take tiles from the center first in a round, you lose points equal to the number of tiles claimed, not only 1 point. -WEM

Thank you. It's lovely-close enough to the original and still attractive and novel enough to be worth owning. Passed on Sintra, but won't pass this up.

Sintra is great. You should really try it.

Just bought Azul: Summer Pavilion (we already have the other two versions of Azul and love them). We're confused about how to end the game, though. If it's the end of the 6th round and you're in the scoring process, do you continue to collect the bonus tiles for surrounding statues, etc., and continue adding them to the board until there are no further possibilities? It seems like it kind of drags it out a long time...

I think “HexaRhom” should be the descriptive term 😄. I’m pretty attached to my Stained Glass, so I’m thinking this won’t be a must-buy.

Cintra did not appeal to me despite Azul feeling like a true modern classic. Summer Pavilion looks more my flavour and will look forward to trying to it. Really enjoy this format of video - an exploration rather than just a review 🙂

Thanks! I did more comparison with Sintra in my write-up on BGG News, with the main difference seeming to be that in Sintra you're scoring columns but not building something bigger, whereas in the original Azul and in Azul: SP, everything builds on one board. -WEM

I know your doing it correctly but I find these directions a bit confusing. You said you must discard 3 red or any combination red and wilds to place one red on the 3 space. But you discarded 2 (in this case wild) and placed one red on the 3 space. The red tile you used wasn't disacrded at all it was placed. The way you explained it makes it sound like you discard 3 tiles or combination there of to place one tile.

But I did discard three tiles; those two wild tiles and one red tile were removed from my holdings, which made it possible for me to cover that red space. I see what you're saying, though: Discard X to place one of those X on a space. -WEM

Azul was great, but Sintra we left out - but the new Summer Edition seems cool again - not as mean or evil ;-) as first part but more puzzley I assume

Agreed. I had no interest in Sintra. Looked WAY too fiddly. This one seems to return Azul to its roots. Gameplay is easy to learn, not at all fiddly, and easy to score. This one I want!

I like Sintra WAY better. Not at all fiddly. Just one piece that you put next to the row you just placed tiles on, that’s the only new piece.
