It was an awesome experience and the scenery, the road, the weather.. everything made me smile and laugh of joy! Great video 😄👍
Thanks for taking us along, I really enjoyed it! I visited Trollstigen about 12 years ago. We parked in that car park at the bottom where the road was closed, there was a guy with a video camera pointing at the sky, the next thing I glanced up to see a base jumper that had thrown themselves off the cliffs above and eventually came to land beside us with his parachute! Quite an unexpected sight!
I enjoyed my Sunday afternoon in +30 degrees watching a great and relaxing video of beautiful Norway. It's nice to hear that you, like me, fell in love with your Tuareg. The video is great, keep up the good work. Best regards. 👍

Amazing content man!🤘 Keep making these please. You are like the Nordic Adam Reimann😄. Couple of questions for you: 1. Now that you have riden Norwegian and Finnish TET, which bike would you prefer more for similar trips, the Tuareg or Tenere? 2) For a complete beginner (as in got my license 2 weeks ago😅) which bike would you recommend for adv/ all roads ? Either of these two, the CRF300l, or the CFMoto 450? Btw, loved the conversations with sheep, cows and the swedish guy😂. Already subscribed 👍. Terveisiä Lappeenrannasta!
Thanks! I love to see that people like the travel videos too even though I usually don't do these. Tuareg or Tenere is more a matter of taste. For me the Tuareg fits better ergonomically so it mostly depends on the rider. I would say that the Tuareg is probably a bit more easy to ride due to the weight distribution and better balance on slower speeds but traveling I don't see a huge difference. I would personally still pick the Tuareg for this kind of trip just because it fits me better. CRF300L and CfMoto 450MT are completely different bikes and there is no comparing the two. MT450 is very close to the Tuareg and Tenere to ride. Less power, slightly lower seat height and therefore maybe a bit easier for short riders. But MT450 is still heavy and therefore should not be compared to a CRF300. They have almost nothing in common outside of both having 2 wheels 😅.
@@PatchedBandit thanks a lot for the quick reply! About the 450MT and CRF300, I completely agree with your view. I'm just trying to figure out which would be a better choice to begin with for me (with the goal of getting into adventure riding 😄)

Great video. What time off year was this? No worries, just went back to the start and saw you stamped it with July! I'm thinking about doing September. I'll take warm clothing
Animals on the roads.... I tell ya, dangerous driving in areas w/ lots of animals & I experienced this down in Mexico during the 90's while driving at night. Nothing like coming up on a 1200lb bull or cow b/c the dark colored ones might not be seen until they're up on your hood.... or knocked you off a bike? Take your life either way >> all that aside, beautiful place & another channel I follow has just completed a European tour ; unbelievable beauty in every turn.... thanks for the share. peace
@user-dv7hb2sc9m Yeah I hate riding at night for that reason. Seen a big moose jump on the road twice in my 20yr riding life. Thats a scary animal too 😵💫 Biggest fear offroading 😮💨
damned scary animal, I was in the Upper-Lower Peninsula of Michigan for several years & people would deal w/ them from time to time. They'll kill ya just to do it, lol. I've seen a number of Riders being hit by deer coming across roads & there's nothing to do but hold on best you can. A dog killed a high school buddy as he rode a 175cc Enduro and the dam dog chased him every time he passed thru but this one day the dog got under the bike & he got his neck broken by the dog. That's a reason I tell riders not to break off mirrors & such b/c they might cause a fellow rider to go down due to their anger issues. You're a "Rider's rider"..... I don't even have the money to buy one yet but I'm learning from you. Thanks for the share & your time. ride safe & GB ALL
Sucks that in norway, most small «off road» tracks are now decent gravel roads and the rest are paved. Wish there was more small tracks all over the country for overlanding, adv etc
A lot. But some of my time is taken by trying to film my journey so I think its possible to ride this even 1 day faster and still enjoy the trip. 1 week for the full southern section is plenty.
Nice trip. Reminds me a little bit of my ride up to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan where a lot of Norwegian’s settled when they immigrated to the States in the late 1800’s. One issue I ran into on the trip was the mosquitoes and black flies - I guess I was up there little bit to early in the season. Do you run into issues with bugs during the season in Norway and Finland? Not sure how I feel about the toll roads. On the one had they looked like they were well maintained but on the other I don’t want to see them starting to charge for the BDR’s in the US.
The mosquitoes are definitely a problem especially in Finland and Sweden but the cold mountain air kept them away for the most part during this trip. There were some in few places but let's say the Finnish ones would eat these for breakfast 😂 It's a good idea to do the TET Finland very early or late in the season. When the nights get cold mosquitoes usually disappear. Riding on those times does have some other issues like potential of snow especially early spring. The toll road system hopefully doesn't spread anywhere. It's probably so expensive to upkeep the high tech system itself and maybe land owner's greed(?) on top. This or that the prices are not reflecting the road use anymore (in my opinion).
Ai että kun oli tuttuja maisemia! Ite ajoin tuon TET:n 2022, Trollstigenin joskus 2015 😀 Melkein tulee ikävä noita lämpötiloja kun omalla reissulla nyt Kroatiassa + 34 C 😅
You did a good video, very enjoyable. Although I thought the TET in Norway would be more challenging? I like the Tuareg, sat on one earlier this year and liked it, the ergos, as like you I am also vertically challenged. 5'7" and 30" inseam. Most ADV bikes are simply too big and heavy for me. I liked the KTM 790 ADV, but KTM reliability worries me. You wear KTM clothing so presumably you have/had one at some point? Sub'd.
Thanks! Challenge level on the TET Norway is definitely 0. Very beginner and big bike friendly. Some people love that some don't but I wouldn't take the CRF300 here now that I know how fast the track is. It's more about the scenery and nature. Actually the cloting is in KTM colors simply because dealers here don't carry this stuff in Alpinestars original colors 😂 This and I don't really care about the cloring. For me the important thing is ventilation, weatherproofing etc.. simply that it works for me. But owning some kind of KTM is probably just a matter of time for me 😁 Tuareg is an awesome bike for sure! Thanks for commenting! 😊
@@PatchedBandit Thanks for your reply. Awesome. Yes Norway is indeed spectacular. I think I'm going to get a demo ride on a Tuareg I like the look and ergos and your impression of yours is very good. Thanks again. ATB.
@@PatchedBanditWhat tires would you chose if not the STR considering paved roads to and from Norway included? Looked really tough to make the last climb on Tronfjell with these tires. Thanks a lot for your work to get this amazing video done. Stunning scenery and you have really evolved in your film making.
It's a bummer how much they want to charge and tax for everything in Europe. I hate tolls. Reminds me of the bandits in old times that would not let you cross a path without giving them some coin by threat of blade.
Most of them along TET are definitely not free for motorcycles. Elsewhere maybe so but I remember 1 road that said motos are free. Lot's of them had tracktors free etc. but motos still had a price.
@@PatchedBandit The tractors that drive up there is most probably owned by a landowner/roadowner or somebody doing work for a landowner/roadowner. In my opinion, all road should be free for MC's. And I hate any toll-roads 😡
True. The toll system in the TET route is the no.1 reason this trip is most likely 1 and done for me. I wanted to ride it once but I'm not gonna pay those prices again.
3 levels of Sheep Risk. You had level 3 sheep , they own the road and you go round. Level 2 , will move once you get close. Level 1 means your in really out of the way area , sheep will just be a blur running away. Great video . Thanks
TH-cam seems to like long format better nowadays for longer retention times. TSHansen and NomadSweden have had good results with longer videos too so I tried it also 😄
It's hard to find the perfect timing for everyone but it's true that travel videos can be a bit more relaxed. I tried to get a good balance here but I will try to improve going forward. Was a tough edit to get the whole trip compressed to 1 hour and not make it suck too bad 😁 Balance between too fast and boring is a very narrow line that is hard to find at times 😊
@Patched Bandit Hi sir, can you please tell me , are you alone filming this? What kind of gear are you then using? Are the drone flying by it self, following you when you ride the bike ? @17:40 what is the price for a drone like that, following you for example? :) and NO, we do not get tired of our view and nature :) finally: a lot of this mountain tollroads are privat owned, and the owner are responsible to maintain the road open, well prepped at all time, and allso plow away the snow in the winter, for the tourist trafic to pass, and all that cost a lot of coarse, but still I will say sorry that you have to pay to pass on them :(

while driving at night. Nothing like coming up on a 1200lb bull or cow b/c the dark colored ones might not be seen until they're up
on your hood.... or knocked you off a bike? Take your life either way >> all that aside, beautiful place & another channel I follow
has just completed a European tour ; unbelievable beauty in every turn.... thanks for the share. peace
@user-dv7hb2sc9m Yeah I hate riding at night for that reason. Seen a big moose jump on the road twice in my 20yr riding life. Thats a scary animal too 😵💫
Biggest fear offroading 😮💨
damned scary animal, I was in the Upper-Lower Peninsula of Michigan for several years & people would deal w/ them
from time to time. They'll kill ya just to do it, lol. I've seen a number of Riders being hit by deer coming across roads &
there's nothing to do but hold on best you can. A dog killed a high school buddy as he rode a 175cc Enduro and the
dam dog chased him every time he passed thru but this one day the dog got under the bike & he got his neck broken
by the dog. That's a reason I tell riders not to break off mirrors & such b/c they might cause a fellow rider to go down
due to their anger issues. You're a "Rider's rider"..... I don't even have the money to buy one yet but I'm learning from
you. Thanks for the share & your time. ride safe & GB ALL
Good reminders for us all 🤙 thanks for commenting 🙏
Sucks that in norway, most small «off road» tracks are now decent gravel roads and the rest are paved. Wish there was more small tracks all over the country for overlanding, adv etc
How many hours a day did you ride? Planing on going same sections in september, from the norweigan border to Tronfjell.
The gras roof is for insulation 🙂
Thanks! 😄
Nice video! Did you actually try to get the fork repaired under warranty?
I did not. I went straight to a specialist who I know. I have a video about the fix on the channel.
The cabins you have booked are these on airbnb or you have a website for them to book?
I just used airbnb
👏👌🇳🇴🤠
ATB.
what tires are you running? Nice video!
Pirelli STR Rally. So the stock tires that came with the bike. Not very good off pavement but a descent travel touring tire
@@PatchedBandit thanks! So Norwegian TET is not that demanding off road wise!
@@PatchedBanditWhat tires would you chose if not the STR considering paved roads to and from Norway included? Looked really tough to make the last climb on Tronfjell with these tires. Thanks a lot for your work to get this amazing video done. Stunning scenery and you have really evolved in your film making.
I love michelin anakee wilds for a good 50/50 tire. Thanks 🙏
i think the grass also provides insulation on roofs 😅. what drone were u using ?
Maybe 😃 Its a mini 3 base model so unfortunately it doesn’t have the follow features of the pro version
It's a bummer how much they want to charge and tax for everything in Europe. I hate tolls. Reminds me of the bandits in old times that would not let you cross a path without giving them some coin by threat of blade.
Toll-roads in Norway....
Most of them is free for MC's. BUT many of the smaler roads, is privatly ovnened and maintaind.
I wanted to ride it once but I'm not gonna pay those prices again.
what app do you use for the tet maps?
Osmand. It's confusing to use with all the millions of menu options but very nice for offline navigation.
But… how else are you going to ice fish if you’re not drilling holes?
@@SumPixelz That is the joke.. 😅
3 levels of Sheep Risk. You had level 3 sheep , they own the road and you go round. Level 2 , will move once you get close. Level 1 means your in really out of the way area , sheep will just be a blur running away. Great video . Thanks
Good thing they are fairly easy to spot. Reindeer is so dark its tough to notice them sometimes 😊

TH-cam seems to like long format better nowadays for longer retention times. TSHansen and NomadSweden have had good results with longer videos too so I tried it also 😄
Video Will improve if the frames are longer...
Don't change so fast from one image to another.
It's hard to find the perfect timing for everyone but it's true that travel videos can be a bit more relaxed.
I tried to get a good balance here but I will try to improve going forward. Was a tough edit to get the whole trip compressed to 1 hour and not make it suck too bad 😁
Balance between too fast and boring is a very narrow line that is hard to find at times 😊
Arent swedish learned in school anymore in finland?
Over 20 years ago.. i have never used it after that so 🤷♂️
@Patched Bandit Hi sir, can you please tell me , are you alone filming this? What kind of gear are you then using? Are the drone flying by it self, following you when you ride the bike ? @17:40 what is the price for a drone like that, following you for example? :) and NO, we do not get tired of our view and nature :) finally: a lot of this mountain tollroads are privat owned, and the owner are responsible to maintain the road open, well prepped at all time, and allso plow away the snow in the winter, for the tourist trafic to pass, and all that cost a lot of coarse, but still I will say sorry that you have to pay to pass on them :(
DJI Osmo action 3
DJI Osmo action 4
DJI Pocket 3
DJI Mini 3 (drone)
And yes traveling and filming alone.
@@PatchedBandit thanx for the info, and thanx for the really nice travel video you made for us to watch :)
Driving a motorized vehicle offroad is not allowed in Norway.
