    Hi Johannes, great trip. You don´t have to convince me of NOR's beauty. Been there for 6 weeks during TRJE18 and I am still unable to explain to myself why I felt so at home in a country with a foreign language and landscape. (Must have to do sth with NOR mentality in general) But should I ever have the chance to ride the NOR TET I will be very happy to have Klim Badlands Pro with me. By the way: Are you really using a rack? Can't believe that. 😉😁

    • @JohannesDalen
      @JohannesDalen  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello there!
      Nice, are you still in the army? I’m happy to hear that you felt at home in my country. I’m a separate rain gear kind of guy, but my next jacket will definitely be a jacket with event/gtex because the weather here is so unpredictable.
      Regarding the racks.. hehe, well, I’ve been meaning to to explain why, but haven’t made a video yet. I just really liked how easy the Enduristan bags were in use so I wanted to try them for this trip. They didn’t fit my bike well on the right side, so I ordered a set of racks. I liked them a lot, but I’ve already sold them and went back to rackless. They were simply too heavy and I could feel the weight while riding. A good experience though, now I can recommend or not recommend racks if people ask 🙂

    • @aliasostwind827
      @aliasostwind827 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JohannesDalen Yes I still am. Regarding the racks: After my first rackless experiences with the Enduristan Monsoons 3 I decided for the racks of Nomad Adventure. They are less than 2 kg, as close to the bike as possible and allows you to have the weight almost in the center of the rear wheel . Thus they didn't influence my riding experience and worked perfectly for Monsoons. On the other hands the plates of the rack are to small for anything else. Thus I created some "tailord to mission" plastic choping boards to replace them when needed. Nevertheless if I had to make the decision again, I would not be any longer deterred by the high price of Mosko Moto Reckless. Combined with a Giant Loop roll or Enduristan Tornado this seems to be the best thought out and versatile solution at the market. But maybe I just so optimistic since I don't have any experience with that solution and can't therefore see the downsides. And I am already curious with which solution you will come up! 🙃

    • @JohannesDalen
      @JohannesDalen  ปีที่แล้ว

      I had them on my T7. Quality and modularity was excellent, but I actually found them a bit annoying to use. Openings are not very big and the whole holster solution is very heavy and a bit cumbersome. The reason why I went with them a second time is because of how well they fit the 701, but also because of the quality. People are reporting their 5-6 year old bags still looking like new, and I wanted a set that I could move to my next bike too. The modularity will help with that as well. In the end, could have been the Kriegas or Enduristans too, but I like Mosko Moto and what they offer, so went with them a second time. Will of course report back 🙂

      The adv side of motorcycling is a fantastic thing with many adventures. You don’t have to have something like a 701 or a very dirt oriented bike either - many adventures can be had on bikes that are much more street oriented too. I’m in the market for a second, more street oriented bike as the trails that I have are far away and most of the riding I do is on tarmac.

      Stock ones as mirrors are better because I see more behind me. I recommend the doubletake ones but I think I’m wider than the average guy so I want mirrors with longer stem.

    Do you have a something like the swedish "terrängkörningslagen" in Norway? And if so, is it as strict as sweden's (basically everything except roads are "no go")?

    • @JohannesDalen
      @JohannesDalen  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, I don’t know if we have a specific law like the Swedes, but if the road isn’t a public one, it is by law illegal to ride there. There’s obviously some grat areas here with tractor roads and some trails, but Norway is just as strict as Sweden regarding this, yes.

      The DRZ did excellent. I’m currently stripping it down and giving it a good bath - I’ve put it up for sale online but I really, really struggle to part with it. There’s so many things about it that I like, but it doesn’t get ridden because the 701 is better in every way. Time will tell what happens to the DRZ, I’m thinking about putting less aggressive tires on it and make it my daily commuter and long distance tourer - ever heard about a touring ready DRZ? 😬
