Your video is the only one I’ve seen that actually explains how to pop the top cover off easily. Thank you so much! I popped mine open, cleaned it thoroughly, and it was so easy.
THANK YOU so much! I've regularly de-haired the roller brush using scissors/tweezers/pliers etc but when it finally stopped rotating I had no idea what to do next as couldn't see how to get brush head off... You've saved me £80 not buying a new head and given me the satisfaction of learning how to do a new repair job - it's now working like new again! You're a star!🙂🙂🙂
You have pulled back the curtain Miele like our new cars want you to take it to a dealer. I couldn’t for the life of me figure out how to remove the underside I was ready to take my sawzall to it but you saved the day big thanks for making this video now I can save on seeing a therapist 😊
Thank you!!! Thanks to you I fixed it in less time than it would have taken me to find a repair shop. The scary bit was trying to separate the top and bottom plastic bits without breaking the plastic. Once I got that, the rest was a piece of cake. Bless you!👏👏👏👏👏
Thank you for the video from the San Joaquin Valley in California. I was struggling to open up the head to clean up the brush. This gave the information I needed.
Thank You very much. I have never done this kind of repair before and it worked like magic!! Almost didn't take the belt off - thought I never would get it put back together. Glad I did !! SOOOOO much hair in that spot!!! Great directions to put it all back together too. Thanks
Brilliant. Removed string which had wrapped around wheel and jammed it. Discovered hidden screws behind wheels and took through process very clearly. Prising apart the head was the hardest bit. Mine has jammed in the centre at front and took half an hour of pulling and prising before it gave way. Many thanks for your help!!
Thank you for that ! Saved me £90! Sick of these heads getting blocked up and buying a new one way expensive, even I could do it. with a few mistakes which I corrected repeating your steps ! Great ! Thanks a million 😊
From the bottom of my heart...thank you very much..for your sincerity, simplicity and generousity...great man..❤😊.....I did it..and it worked out.. by now I could do it again, after went scared and thought to had to buy one new one by throwing away the opened one...🎶🎶🎶👍👍👍🍀🍀🍀🙏🇮🇹
Awesome!! Thank you for sharing your experience and knowledge. Took me forever to remove the screws and to separate the head. Man that was the only challenging part. Everything else fell right into place. Works fabulously now. Thanks again!
Thank you so much! This is why the internet can be so useful to help people like me who don’t have anyone to ask in real life to help me fix this. Working like new again!! Thanks so much!!! 🤩
I appreciate what you did here and how thoroughly you took the Turboteq head apart, but it didn't escape notice that you already had the wheels off, which are NOT easy to remove. In fact, using a kitchen knife for prying and disassembly causes damage to the wheels and/or surrounding plastic.
Struggled to get the front clips out but eventually worked. I wish Miele would design with cleaning and maintenance in mind. Don't mind the screws under the wheels as much but the clips in the clear plastic are frustrating at best. This isn't a sleek tech device it's a work tool and ideally should be designed with easy service in mind and it's not necessary to hide how it goes together or make fragile clips. It would be better if it was 8-9 screws and just lifted apart IMO. I would have gladly paid a bit extra cost to have all screws and not the clips. Reading the comments it's clear that other people were ready to throw theirs away and buy a new one when all theirs needed was a cleaning. While this is better for Miele's profit it's bad for Earth and customers' value, design with easy cleaning / service in mind, please. For under the wheel screws imprint a logo of a screw by the wheel ... people would figure it out (Hopefully, someone from Miele reads this)
Excellent video, thanks very much. It was nice to see it done on a dirty piece of equipment rather that a fresh “out of the box” one. I had more trouble getting the head back on than anything else!
Just wanted to say thank you- great video - like others said hardest bit was seperating the head - just gotta trust it dosent break and really pull them apart
Thank you so much!!! I desperately needed to figure out how to clean this thing. You did a great job explaining what to do. Your background music added character. 😊
Great video. Done this to two vacuum Miele cleaners now. 2nd one got small hairs deep in the grey roller clips. Had to pick them out with a needle but now working a treat again. Many thanks for the effort and expertise put into this.
Thank you so much 🙏 Your excellent video saved me more than once this morning! Glad to report TurboTeq head is working as good as new...delighted and saved me €90👏
Just what I needed to understand how to strip this down! Our head unit is now spinning away freely like new after clearing out a mass of labrador fur. Many thanks.
I couldn't get mine apart but luckily was able to make it spin again with vigorous scraping of the inside using a table knife. Gunk buildt up on the surfaces was causing friction between the brushes and the surface. Enough friction=rolling stops. I also ran a green scrubber pad through it.
Many thanks for that it all came apart beautifully as you showed. However the rear came off perfectly but at the front it just would not come apart, I had taken the two screws out under the front wheels, but it felt like it was connected to the transparent glass. I was reaching the stage where something would have broken so I just put it all back together without cleaning. Is there a newer version with another fixing say midway along the front? Thank you
Same for me - couldn't get the front off. However I did then manage to prise out the fixings on the white cylindrical drive so could then clean all of the hairs off the axle. This did the job well enough so that the head now turns again. Given how expensive Miele kit is, I find it very disappointing that they don't make it easy for us to look after it. Poor design, but massive thanks to Fam Pearson for helping all of us get around this!.
Thanks for the video. Did you do anything special to pry the upper and lower plastic apart where it clips in? I’ve been trying to prize them apart and I can get them separated except for where it clips in. I’m afraid of breaking the plastic with the amount of force I’m applying.
Any more clues on how to do the brute force detachment bit without breaking it after you have the 6xT10 Torx screws out? I can't get past this point. You started off by prying with a screwdriver and then you just pulled. I've been prying with various screwdrivers and pries to try and push it past the clips, but I get severe distortion in the plastic, and no kind of willingness to go past the clips by pulling. And the clear plastic is too stiff to push the clips in far enough to pull.
The previous version of this head was a piece of cake to open… two fat plastic screws you can ope with use using a coin. Now Miele has “improved” the process by making it 20 times more complicated to take apart. Last Miele for me !
Front part won’t come apart without a fight. I ended up snapping the grey bits holding the clear clips in so it would come apart. Not a problem as the two front screws hold it in place anyway.
Brute force to get the top off after saying a prayer. Successful clean but I found a small tack had become lodged and stopped the fly wheel from turning.
The video is NOT clear at the most important moment: when the case is separated at the front at the clear plastic. Many folks asked below - but no answer. A clear, step by step video of the separation process would make this a great video.
The solution I came up with for getting the front parts separated: Slip a couple butterknifes vertically in the seam between the black plastic and the clear plastic. Pry open. Later cut the top edge of the holes in the black plastic. That eliminates the mating of the tab in the clear plastic with the black frame. The screws will hold it all together.
Thanks a bundle! 🎉 I was ready to throw the thing away. What a stupid design. I have two other motorbrush vaccuum cleaners, one Dy Son and one Chinese robot vaccuum. They both are very easy to (dis)assemble with latches. The robot also has this great little (safe)tool to cut away hair that’s all wound up. The Miele is very disappointing… very loud as well this turbo driven head.
Thanks for the great vid, next time film in landscape mode please. Can we all agree this is the most shitiest product accessory to maintain Miele ever made? Not user friendly AT ALL

Once a year i need to do this and your video is the only resource i find myself needing. Thanks again!

easily? How did you separate the front edge?

brilliant repair with Northern Soul in the background!!! Keep the faith

Really clear, was able to do the job no problems. You've saved me £80, so I guess I owe you a pint now.

Thanks of much for this easy to follow video! Had a small stone stuck in the housing for the belt that was keeping it from spinning!

Awesome!! The only struggle was the front clips. One they were apart it was EZPZ. Thanks for the excellent tutorial.

Thank you for your help, I did a lot more cussing, but your video got the vacuum fixed.

Thanks for your help! Very clear instructions.

Can I ask what are those white things holding the drive belt? I cracked mine.
Thanks. Saved me from buying a new one.
Perfect thanks mate, works perfectly now.

How often do you have to clean it like this?
Thank you….very helpful!
I would like to know where I can buy these red bristle brushes to replace. I couldn't even find it on amazon

good job
I can not get the front edge un-clipped from the clear plastic window for the life of me.
Thanks for this. This head was designed by a psycho, they should have just added some easy removal mechanism for the roller brush.
I agree with you but then you wouldn't have seen this video :)
OMG. What a mess. Too much trouble.
I deal with this at least once a week, i can do it with my eyes closed..
Thanks for the great vid, next time film in landscape mode please.
