Just to point out, when you are caught in the light you don't need to fight anything if you don't want to - just run for the edge till you see a blue glowing line. As soon as you cross it you are out of the area and everything disappears - I recommend doing this if you are low level & weak but once higher, it's definitely in your interest to do them as it gives a lot of essence and mats
I often find devs decide on either linear or openworld, then decide what game they want to make based on that, instead of the other way around. That's how we end up with generic games like this.
I think they did decide on that. They wanted to make an open world space with fun combat and traversal but fell weak on the narrative and its characters
So my PS5 disc is here: Without patch no crashes ever top. 1. the English synchro is better than the German. In the German one, I have the feeling that the management didn't work like that 2. I also have it in the English synchro that sentences are interrupted. 3. From time to time I have reloading textures, which is particularly noticeable when the camera is closer to the cutscene. 4. There are no more CG render scenes, very unfortunate, since Surge 1&2 was much better. 5. Getting started with Nyall is really not good, it doesn't play well, stiff and slow. 6. Negative: it's still a bit raw and blocky when I attack. Pros: the essence stone system is really cool, as is the momentum bar and the fact that I can distribute different skills across the three tiers. The mid-air dodge, mid-air fight and combo of attacks is really cool and looks good. 7. Pro: when the game is ended, it always says when, on what date, at what time it was saved.
This was detailed and I love it. I think this game had no cutscenes because it was animated images instead of a cutscene. But I do agree with everything else
the momentum system is a double edged sword. It just takes too long for the combat to pick up and the parry system is lame. The dodge could be better to tbh. I like the air dash but the aerial combat feels clumsy as hell. I do like double jumping and moving around with the sand sliding but the combat needs a serious overhaul.
for me this game is worth it to play, its been a while since i had fun on combat, yes the overall game has its up and downs but the combat is top tier. i had fun walloping enemies using knuckles and whipped with different combinations of skills
l agree 100 percent with your commentary on this video you made some very valid points now l have a point that l like to make when you have a major boss battle listen up devs the boss is the challenge the challenge is already there you don’t to have minions added to the boss battle why do devs do this and it is not just this game they do this with it other games too like it’s in Spider-Man games too who came up with this idea and concept now in some games you have bars you have to fill and build up for special attacks that do major and sometimes double the damage you have bars when full can let you perform a finisher move that if the enemy’s health bar is low enough can takedown the enemy out of the battle you also have special abilities that can be used in battle but have cooldown times which means you have to wait to use them again so you can’t constantly use them all this is in favor for the player which gives them an edge in battle which is great but you want to reserve all your resources for the boss now instead of concentrating on the boss you now have to fight these minions which become frustrating annoying nuisances that you can’t just ignore because while you are trying to attack the boss they are attacking you at the same time so instead you have to spend your time and resources fighting them and you have to fight them first because they have a smaller health bar than the boss so it is faster to defeat them so now your health is depleting your resources you reserved for the boss is depleting all your special attack bars are all at low levels and needs to be built up again while you are wasting your time fighting the minions instead of the boss and now the boss who has a full health bar is now attacking you unimpeded because you haven’t been chipping away at his health bar because you are too busy fighting his minions then after you take down the minions you say okay now l can concentrate on taking down the boss oh no,no,no there is now another wave of minions to take down again they don’t do this tactic just once but they do this three to four times which makes this boss fight a frustrating completely unenjoyable slog of a battle that you can wait to get it over with but guess what if you die you get to do it all over again listen to me devs just stop doing this! this isn’t fun
I do agree with your point however I saw that here much more than something like Spider-Man 2. Sure Spider-Man 2 did have something like that but it wasn't to a point where if you kill 3 minions, in a matter of seconds they would spawn back again. In this game however, that would happen quite often. I've played many games that has boss battle and then minions would pop up that you need to take out and then after a while you do that again and that's sort of nice especially when you are trying to fill up your ability meter to do power moves. In this game, that was done way too much which became frustrating
I like the way you do your videos, thanks man keep it up. Saved me from buying Forspoken, and Atlas fallen. Combat in both is great, the rest seems trash
Reason why i stopped playing. There are only 3 weapons in the game. That's inexcusable for an open world rpg. That's why it got so repetitive for me. There are annoying moments where i need to jump and platform a lot. They said this game is an action rpg but there are no levels. Enemies don't give exp, which makes it a chore to kill them. Your character doesnt have stats. Only armor does. Yes that's right, armor dictates all of your stats. Even attack power which is odd. This entire game doesn't even feel like an rpg. Sad to see because lords of the fallen and the surge games were great. Oh and one more thing, the camera zooms out too much during fights. Can hardly see what my character is doing
I sort of agree with what you said. You do a lot of platforming which was fine for me and the same goes with camera zooming out , I guess since the enemies are bigger , they did that. But ya later one killing enemies became a chore and I started ignoring it and as I said everything just ended up in a boss which became repetitive and boring
@@BehindTheVoicePod then why did you put a video out talking about the game when you didn’t even play the whole game? A lot of the problems you were complaining out in your video are addressed later in the game.
@@Door2Dumpster it's not about being addressed. It's up until that point where it turned me off. But again that's just me. If you had a great time then I am happy for you. I wish I was in your shoes and not be bothered by it but it did for me and if later in the game it gets better than that's good but for me it felt like a long time and I was still having that issues. But I will give this game another chance for sure.

Ya you are right in some ways. I still think the momentum isn't bad but the time it takes to swing the weapons is long. So that feels floaty.
Two things: 1. Yes, I also think the momentum should be built up faster. 2. I still have to play it myself.
I think momentum building is fine. It's just the hammer one in particular feels like it moves slowly , otherwise its pretty good.
