These devs are absolute chads for taking critisism and using it to improve their game
Sad it’s such a rarity
Even if their stories are still flawed and some annoyance that could use some fix are a bit presence, But I WILL prefer Surge 2 over the mediocre at worst, and “fun at least” Surge 1.
The fact that they saw a video of an owl png talking smack on the product they'd just spent months on, and were able to say "wow he makes some good points", is a level of patience and humility that I think qualifies them for sainthood.
@@DinsRune Haha indeed, and precisely why I feel that they have just gotten significantly better and better each passing game they make. What's even more exciting, is they're currently developing a new IP that will also be a challenging Action-RPG with Soulslike qualities, however with some changes geared towards enhancing player choice. Very intriguing.

An interesting little aside with regards to the infection chip quest shammy mentioned, it turns out that the doctor you give the chips/newly made implant to in the underground does actually survive his infection, he can be found at gate bravo after you complete his sidequest with the implant and after Eli gets revived.
So none of it matters in both versions?

All I've really heard throughout the whole video is that there is a dev team that learned from its mistakes, listens to its community, strived to make an all round more enjoyable game for its fans, and mostly succeeded.

Awesome, isnt it? IMO The Evil Within 2 sits in a similar spot, its a great followup to a mess of ideas.
And on a negative side, while I dont think the new XCOMs were ever bad games, them doubling down with XCOM2 resulted in keeping all the problems of the predecessor.

@@unblorbosyourshows9635 Idk, TEW was all over the place, with some chapters feeling like they're different games. The game was too incoherent to really leave a mark to me. Actually took the second game, and its much better presentation of TEW1s story, to make me go back and complete it.
Some of the survival action in TEW1 was really good though, at the points where they didnt go overboard with the action and managed to keep the atmosphere up.

I think one of the best things about your videos is their length. Games just have too much shit in them to be reviewed in 20 minutes, but most content creators seem to be scared their audience will get bored. You don’t really seem to care about that, and consequently you end up making videos long enough to thoroughly review the game while also keeping us entertained. So good job.

I knew Shammy had impeccable taste when she put NieR Automata at the top of her 2017 list, but goddamn is it nice to see my favorite game of 2020 getting more recognition in these circles. More games need coin flip guns dammit.
From the word go, I wanted Ultrakill pumped into my veins.
Fuck that game is good, and I keep on learning more and more little extra mechanics, like recently the superbounce's and railcoining, which while hard to pull off are absolutely insane to use, railcoining being much harder to do since you hit the same guy with 3 rail shots at the same time.

I got to the boss just before the child’s shot into the sky. Died about 80 times. Really didn’t care enough about what was going on to keep trying so I put it on the shelf and still haven’t finished it.
