Never heard of Sigur Rós until I watched Vanilla Sky and fell in love with the last song in the movie. Decided a few days ago to listen to some of their music and now I'm love with them. After listening to this concert I now think it's better than any I've been to see (inc a recent one by Placebo, my favourite band of all time) I'm desperate to see Sigur Rós now....
placebo are certainly good, i grew up on them as they are kind of fringe skate punk; i'll be seeing sigur ros in falkoneer salen (the falconeers hall) in copenhagen on literally my birthday this year though.
Huge fan since ( ), loved almost everything, seen them 3 times before i experienced this event, it was sheer magic, from beginning to end, hearing Von live was a pleasure, shame it sounded a bit off in places but live performances etc, the rest of the night was superb. also, my first gig where i was seated, and it made sense for this event, and the music itself sounded amazing in that auditorium, just gorgeous and crisp!
Are you sure this isn't the Wordless Orchestra? That's who they've been touring with this summer, and I saw them last week and the conductor in the pic on this video was conducting the Wordless Orchestra.
@@dorothy6361I just checked and Robert Ames is the conductor for the whole tour with both orchestras. He worked with them on the album so it makes sense.
Hate to be the bearer of bad news…that’s not realtime Jónsi vocals on “Fljótavík”….when I saw SR 11 years ago they were playing to backing tapes as a 3-piece and no backing band members. Jonsi can’t reach those registers anymore….unfortunately
i saw them about 3 months ago , maybe 4 and he sang live and hit all the high notes , they have always had backing tapes for certain parts of some of their songs . Go back and watch earlier live concerts and you can see that . They have never made an issue of it .
Sigur Rós is the love of my life.
I love Sigur Ros forever for my life,,Ramon from México
They are the Love of life

@@micshaz I've listened to all the Sigur Rós albums now, they're now my favourite band of all time. I'm visiting Oslo in November to see them.
They are amazing live. Highly recommend. I dream of one day attending a Sigur Ros concert while looking at the Northern lights dancing in the sky.
From intro Ekki Múkk is like daydreaming 🍃
That trumpet part in Ekki Mukk starting at 10:43 sends shivers...as does the rest of the performance..
this is a wonderful recording. Thanks for sharing. Looking forward to seeing them in less than two weeks in Seattle.
What did you think of the Seattle show? I was there 😢

I was at this gig. It was the London Contemporary Orchestra
@@chriswashington8062 interesting. Same conductor?

@@chriswashington8062 Thanks! I could not find his name!
@@dorothy6361 He co-founded the LCO and worked with Radiohead on their last album.
Nothing else going on
